This is one of Doctor D.D.S Tsibel other offices. He has several others I go to but I just found out this one was closer to me so I made an appointment for a deep cleaning instead of going to his Cypress, Bellflower, or his Long Beach office. The staff, Janira, Jessica, Kristina, and Priya were amazing. They made me feel very comfortable being it was my first time at this location. They were prompt in starting my paperwork and prepping me for my service. I had a great time joking around with them and they embraced it. I will be coming back to this location for future services. The quality of care they gave me was outstanding and I felt secure. I was in and out in less than an hour which I loved. Note: Plenty of parking in the rear of the location. read more

Dr. Morris answered all my questions and explained to me the importance of coming in for routine check ups and FLOSSING. The hygienist Kristine is very thorough and has hands of an angel. I came in with my two young children (ages 8 and 10) for a routine cleaning and orthodontic consultation, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The office felt outdated and run-down, it's in serious need of an upgrade. There were wires from old equipment scattered on the floor, creating a cluttered and unsafe environment. There was no central air, just a loud window AC unit that made it difficult to hear anything the staff was saying. The staff performing the cleanings were not welcoming and came across as rude and impatient with my children. The cleanings felt rushed, it took her 45 min to do the cleaning and X-rays for both children. She took longer with the imaging than she did the cleanings. That's a record! I asked if I could accompany my children into the room, but there wasn't even a place to sit, was left standing. When doctor Sedghi came in after the cleanings to do the oral evaluations, Lack of communication from her part, unwelcoming atmosphere and made me feel like I shouldn't be there. This dental office is lacking in basic customer service and professionalism. We will not be returning. read more

I have had over $12,000 of work done here since 2020: extractions, implants, and root canals. Today my implant became loose and eventually came unscrewed, I text them and they text it would be $65 to put back in. Upon getting there that charge became $175. I don't think I will be coming back here. there should be no charge to re screw their own product. I'm not a happy camper. read more

South Pasadena Dental - I'm nervous haha - General Dentistry Near Me - South Pasadena, California

Update: the fillings will all need to be redone by my primary dentist bc the work was done subpar... aka not filled correctly. One filing is lifting the other does not allow for proper flossing. What a nightmare Again stay away from this place. On July 14, 2022 at 1600 I had an appointment with Dr. Misak Sardis Shnorhavorian after he diagnosed me with four Cavities. Upon my arrival I was greeted and seated by someone who identified themselves as the dental hygienist. I was numbed with Novocaine bilaterally and immediately formed swelling on the left side of my mouth The hygienist went to get Dr. Shnorhavorian who looked at me and stated, "Oh are you not feeling good today? Sometimes anesthesia can have that effect if you aren't feeling well." As I responded, " I am feeling fine." He went on to say, "you must be having an allergic reaction to the Novocaine." As a Registered Nurse I knew this was NOT the case because the swelling was unilateral and not bilateral, which I told Dr. Shnorhavorian. He then stated, "Well it looks like a hematoma ... super rare...it will go away within 24 hours don't worry." Immediately, I should have seen these responses, lack of empathy, and the lack of skill when injecting Novocaine as red flags... However, as a patient you trust your practitioners to do no harm. You trust them to acknowledge mistakes, and assist a patient when complications arise. This was not the case at South Pasadena Dental Group. As I left the office my face was completely swollen. The next day came around and the swelling was worse. My cheek was tender and I had pain to the touch.I reached out to Dr. Shnorhavorian and his text message stated, " Hello. I was informed that you're still swollen. Best thing to do at this stage is go to urgent care for further evaluation. You can also apply ice to the area if it is worsening. Avoid heat" I was shocked at that response. What would an urgent care do? What am I supposed to tell them? This was clearly a dental matter that required evaluation. After much back and forth with the office they got me in touch with Dr. Tsabel. At that point I no longer wished to speak with or deal with Dr. Shnorhavorian. His lack of empathy to my concern was disgusting. Dr. Tsabel assured me the swelling would go away within a week.. that "time was the cure". After 7 days I was still swollen and walking around with a temporary facial disfigurement. I reached out to Dr. Tsabel and requested 1. My $147 out of pocket to be returned 2. To be refunded the $562 my insurance was charged 3. The office to cover any expenses related to care I would need for this hematoma. I NEVER heard back. In my opinion, these requests are not unreasonable. I'm not asking for anything other than my money back and the office to cover any bills I incurred for something that was their fault. On July 21st I was desperate for an evaluation. I sought out help from a Periodontist who did state time would help rid of the hematoma BUT to facilitate healing they offered Laser Bio Stimulation 3 consecutive days and sent me home w a four day course of Arnica pills to take morning, afternoon, and evening. My pain and swelling was significantly better. I was told I was way beyond applying ice (as Dr Tsabel had stated) and I should apply moist heat every 3-4 hours. Why couldnt South Pasadena Dental Group offer this care??? The office got back to me after i wrote a formal email complaint and denied my request stating they think "quality" treatment was provided. They were willing to refund my out of pocket cost as a "token of consideration". In addition they stated a hematoma "is not uncommon" however every dental office I reached out to for evaluation said they have never heard of such a thing happening for dental fillings. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. WAY BETTER DENTAL OFFICES EXIST IN SOUTH PASADENA AND IN PASADENA. The only + thing I have to say is Jessica from reception was super sweet and did always help to try and connect my calls in the back and forth dealings w the office. read more

I never write yelp reviews, but as they say, when you have a really bad experience, it's time to say something. I saw a female dentist who was completely incompetent for years at this place. I take good care of my teeth, come in every 6 months for my cleanings, etc. The hygienist at south Pasadena dental is great and I'll miss her. But basically this is why I decided to try a new dentist and am glad I did: the dentist was telling me I grind and that I needed an expensive mouth guard. So I went to another place to get a second opinion because I wasn't having symptoms like a sore jaw in the morning. The second opinion dentist looked and said I definitely don't grind, BUT that I do have a filling that is rotting. It's been that way for at least a year. I'm so angry that south Pasadena dental missed this for so long. Instead of doing her job she was trying to upsell me on an expensive mouthguard for an issue I don't even have. I came in today as a new patient. I was at the office over two hours. They took forever with their "premium process" taking x ray. Then they took their time trying to get a deep cleaning. I came in to have my cracked teeth fixed. They gave a regular cleaning which is a joke. They should have done better than that. After two hours of their premium processing, they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted a filling. They WASTED my time. If I knew it will take all day, i would never made an appointment with them. They are not effective with their services. I see like four different people in two hours. This is bullshit. I grew up using dentist all of the time. Terrible, the invisalines, were never quite fitted properly, teeth ended up with a big space between top and bottom, like buck teeth...yay! Dr. Mc Clendenin tho nice enuf (but always an hour late) never caught the error while it was happening. The lady who comes in during your appointment to talk money, wanted me to pay an extra thousand to correct the invisaliner situation. Fillings have come out, and had/have to be redone. and one on the side of teeth the lady made in a " lovely" shade of grey... grey!! Its a pain to have to go in then correct stuff over and over. Wonderful dental experience. The office is pristine and very nicely decorated, with calming decor. The staff Jessica, Janira & Tiffany are personable and caring. The equipment is state of the art. Dr. Michael is an exceptional dentist, he eases the concern and anxiety of being in a dental chair. Ok when I was 18 I had to have the front top 4 crowned. They told me then I had soft teeth. Lol like my mom but she had both sets of dentures by age 19. Anyway I went to the dentist @10 I had 11 fillings He did them all the same day. Because of the plastic thing over my mouth I ended up with blisters all around my mouth needless to say I never went back till I need to. I'm really hoping Dr mike is going to be ok. You might see my review below, but this one requires a whole separate review. The dentist (who I know the name, but out of respect will not reveal) who did my root canal and crown, unbeknownst to me, left a gap between my crown and root canal, which then got a cavity. I was then sent all the way to Long Beach to their endodontist. He informed me that I had an infection, which they say was not caused by the cavity, but I'm not sure how else an infection can occur. I have another root canal and crown which is doing just fine. The office has said that the endodontist will call me two separate times, but he has never called me, AND this has been since FEBRUARY and I am still without the crown!!!! The only call at this point I want to receive is that they will pay to get it fix their mistake! You would think that you want a dentist office to have at least 4-5 stars. Definitely not recommending them to anyone!!! Nice office staff though! read more

The dentist ended up cutting the side of my mouth with a drill so bad that I had to get stitches. I now am left with a permanent scar next to my mouth and my lip shape is misaligned. On top of that, the doctor had an attitude towards my father because of his concern of the wound. I had to go to two different doctors afterwards to figure out possible solutions to the scar that was left behind. The good reviews might be a lot and it's what sold me to check this place out but gosh, I regret ever stepping foot into this place. read more

I've been going back and forth with myself about writing this review, mainly because I wanted to just forget about the experience and move on...but it just sticks with me. Not to get too personal, but because it's relevant to the story - I've been dealing with a lot of depression from grief and other things, which caused me to make a lot of bad decisions about my health, physical; mental and dental. And though I was dealing with pain, cavities, a lot of needs...A large part of my delay was caused by my shame and embarrassment about just how little I was doing to take care of myself, and it was just a repeated cycle. After about a year and a half. I realized my pain and issues weren't getting any better, and that I needed to take care of things before they got worse, so I got dental insurance and waited a month for it to become active and made an appointment with this dental office. When I went in, the dentist (I honestly don't know his name, I was so bothered) made me feel so embarrassed, judged, and disgusting :(. With a grimace on his face the whole time he evaluated me, He said things like: "Did you floss at all?...well I can tell you haven't" "You're going to need ALOTTTTTT of work" (proceeds to sigh and shake his head) After they handed me a $7000 estimate, I left there and went to sit in my car, and I shed a tear. I am not a super emotional person, but the whole situation really made me feel...like shit - and put me back in that place of shame to where I didn't go see another dentist for a month. I got new insurance with more coverage and seeing a much more understanding and kind dentist. There's nothing wrong with honesty, but you can be honest and empathetic at the same time. read more

Two years ago, I had a crown placed on a tooth that was giving me issues. It wasn't a smooth process and they charged me an arm and a leg, but I just wanted to get it done. They were close by and available. There was lingering pain but eventually it went away and I forgot about it. They also overcharged me and it took them a week to get a check back to me to compensate. Based on this alone, I wouldn't have recommended this place to anyone I cared about. But lo and behold, two years later, I find out from my current dentist that the pain I've been experiencing for the past two days is because I have a root infection because the crown installed was not properly sealed and stuff I've been eating has been sleeping under the crown and into my gums. So now I have to get a root canal. Zero stars. I don't write reviews normally but I want to warn everyone - don't go here. I felt very much like I was just another payday to them and now I know for certain what I suspected, that they did a shoddy job, which is something you NEVER want from your dentist. I simply could not wait to write this review. Dr. Michael Shnorhavorian, Carlos and Tiffany made me smile again! Tears flooded when they gave me the mirror to check their work, totally overwhelmed! I have gum issues and tooth loss, fractured front teeth and overall anxiety whenever someone attempts to take a picture, since forever. Coupled with not finding a dentist that I trusted (procedure, chair-side manner and cost) this team has been a lifesaver for me and I am smiling again! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
