But a sign on the door is the least they can do or an automated voicemail when they randomly decide to step out. It's summer time, I'm visiting from O'ahu, and just wanted to support local and also grab a bikini before the beach. Kaua'i already has limited shops, especially with their 40mph highway it's not ideal to always "go to the next shop" like back home. So this was unfortunate that I drove here for no reason. Also they still have old Covid signs that need to be taken down. Maybe I'll try again next time? Won't bet on it read more

I came here with my mom to get a gift for my sister. The owner and daughter were so kind and helpful! They were both so accommodating and easy to talk to. I really loved the bottoms we picked out for my sister, so when she was in town I stopped by and got the same pair for myself. I love shopping at boutiques where you don't feel pressure. This is definitely a place like that! Just good vibes and conversation. The brands of bikinis are very high quality and great material. Easy and free parking right in front of the shop. There's always open parking spots. I'll definitely bring more friends and family here. read more

There was a ton of bikinis in here to choose from but trying to manouver your way through this TINY store was a mean feat. I noticed some cotton tunic which looked so incredibly comfy and it said that they were on sale too. I picked one up and it was so dumb that it was now $49 from oh, $50. Too damn expensive for something I can pick up for less than $20 overseas, but then again, you're in the middle of a touristy neighborhood and they have to make rent somehow, right? read more

My daughter jumped on a plane from oahu without her bathing suit ‍ so we were looking around kauai for a good spot and lemme tell you this is a hidden gem. Mother and daughter running the store, this is the definition of locally owned business. I'm not an expert in bathing suits or bikini but my daughter was satisfied with her find the the family was so helpful and accommodating. I really wince giving a one star but hear me out. I walked in and right back out because the boutique didn't deliver and I'm hoping to critique the business to help it grow and leave a flawed system. Not everyone whose a small top may need a small bottoms. And not everyone comes in looking for a full set of swim wear, sometimes people desire separates. And this is the primary reason I left unsatisfied. I walked in, wasn't greeted. I had a sneaking suspicion since all the tops were paired with bottoms that they didnt sell separates here. So I asked.... and the lady snapped back at me with "ALL THE BATHING SUITS IN HERE ARE SOLD AS SETS" so I said ok thank you and walked right out. However if you are the miracle that walks this earth that is a matching small top small bottom M/M or L/L then hazaa! This store has the CUTEST BIKINIS AND SHORTS AND SARONGS!!! Not to mention all three of the family members working were such delights, super helpful, and picked out the absolute perfect things I was looking for. They listened and found things I loved. Amazing quality, beautiful styles and such a variety of colors. I loved this shop. Couldn't leave without purchasing a bikini set, extra set of bottoms, and shorts. I have been coming to this shop for what seems like fifteen years. Love this place and only buy my bikinis from here. I do not live on island but when I come I always stock up. All I have to do is tell Tamra the color I am looking for and she magically appears with many for me to choose from. I often try on suits I was not sure about and ultimately wound up purchasing it because it looked the best. Tamra knows her inventory, she knows bikinis, and she knows what will look fabulous on you even if you are having second thoughts. If in Kauai, highly recommend this shop AND if coming to Kauai, don't bother purchasing a suit before you arrive, South Shore will have that perfect suit you are looking for and the suit will last. Although this store has cute bikinis the customer service is horrible. The owner of the shop is extremely rude (as stated by plenty other reviews). She keeps reporting my reviews which is unnecessary. And then proceeds to comment on them and call me a freak. If u want to give bad customer service, I'm going to write it in my review. the last one it said there wasn't enough detail. So here is every detail of my experience.. We seen the shop n started walking upstairs. There was a little hommade sign that said closed but the door was wide open so we walked in. Wow the owner was extremely rude to us while my toddler daughter was trying on some bikinis. She said "you shouldn't be trying things on if you don't have the budget to buy them." The South Shore Bikini Room's owner was running the place when I was there and she was horribly rude to the point I refused to buy anything and left the bad environment. Just left and I'm RAVING! Very small shop in Old Town Koloa the woman working was conversational and helpful, but not pushy or smothering. It seems cramped and disorganized but she was so knowledgeable on where everything was and dropped what she was doing to help me (as someone who worked in retail...I was impressed). The owner was very helpful in finding me a suit especially with how picky and unsure I was of what I wanted. I must have tried on 20 suits all different styles and colors. - all which she helped with. After about 30-40 minutes of being in there I found one that was different than any I had seen in my home area. I also bought an adorable silk romper - it wasn't cheap, but was priced at retail (i searched online and found it for same price) She has a large variety from high end suits (vix, vitamin a and others) to lower priced brands (body glove etc) Prices were in line with what you would find online. There are also a variety of fits - full coverage to brazilian cut bottoms. I am very happy with my brazilian suit I would not be able to find in my area. read more

Unfortunately, we had the WORST customer service experience at this boutique. I brought my 11-year-old daughter into the store on a hot day and no one was there. Eventually a blonde woman in her 50s arrived and acted annoyed that were were there. I wish I had gotten her name to report to the owner, unless she is surprisingly the owner. In any case, I explained that we didn't want anything too skimpy since my daughter is so young, that we were interested in the color blue, and something in the kids' price range. At every verbal exchange this woman rolled her eyes at us, made exasperation sounds or was visibly reluctant to help choose an item, fit the item, or take it away. And then -- wait for it -- she called us a name as we left. We were astounded. This was not the experience that my daughter and I wanted on our special vacation. It was seriously the worst customer service we have ever received, in any store, in any city. read more

My girlfriend and I spent some time in Koloa recently and discovered this gem of a shop - it's located in historic downtown Koloa, upstairs in a cool looking plantation style building. The owner, Tamra, is super friendly and helpful. We spent a fair amount of time checking out the merchandise - this little shop is filled to the rafters with really pretty and unusual swimwear, t-shirts, jewelry and beachwear. They have a huge selection of drop dead gorgeous sarongs in designs that I haven't seen in any of the other shops around the island - they also carry designs of swimwear that you don't find everywhere else - amazing selection and really pretty stuff. We ended up with several different sarongs and some cool jewelry made with rare Kauai seashells - the owner was helpful with suggestions, we spent a lot of time browsing around the store and she was very helpful with designs that fit our specific body types - bikini shopping is not always easy! So if you need anything for the beach, gifts or souvenirs a little bit more unusual than what you can find at Hilo Hattie's, this is the place! I always make a point to stop into this shop every time I visit Kauai, which is usually once a year. It is very small, but it is always well stocked with the cutest bikini's, wraps, dresses and yoga clothes! I absolutely love the yoga tops and bottoms! And the owner is always so friendly and helpful. My daughters and I all love this place! Just got back from visiting, and a got the cutest grey yoga pants with a snakeskin print waist! My husband and I loved this place. We went in to shop. After a beautiful day cruising the Napali Coast with family and friends, we stopped off for some shave ice for the kids and my friend and I decided to go upstairs and do some bikini shopping! Our great day ended here! The lady who worked there (who I later found out wAs the owner) was beyond rude! First, she couldn't put her cell phone down long enough to answer our questions and seemed upset that we were interrupting her phone conversation! She later commented to her friend on the phone, "you have no idea what I'm dealing with....these crazy wenches keep asking me questions and talking over me"! She then left the area so she could continue her conversation. All my friend and I were asking her was the price of things ....as they weren't marked! There was a hat there that I wanted soooo bad, but in the end I could not bring myself to give this rude person, the owner no less, any of my money! Bottom line.....keep driving! read more

The owner of this shop was easily one of the nastiest people I've ever met. Last Sunday my kids and I stopped at the shaved ice stand which is below the shop. I wandered in and they have some beautiful stuff. I bought a necklace for my daughter's birthday ($125) and a $35 sarong. When I got back to the hotel and discovered the sarong and it was full of holes. I went back the next morning and asked for a refund. There wasn't anything on my receipt, no sign in the shop, hadn't been worn so I didn't think it was an unreasonable request. When she said no and I pointed that out she FLIPPED out and told me she was a single mom (unless she had her kid/s at 50 they have to be gone by now) and I was trying to ruin her business. Told her that wasn't my intent, I'm also a single mom and just thought people should know her policy when making their purchase. She then told me my problem was that I'm fat. She's right. I'm 5'7" and a size 16 and THAT's why I wanted a refund. Needless to say I'm going to skip the one of a kind shops next time. read more
