We ordered the Diamond Lake Special pizza and, since it was a bit warm inside, decided to sit outdoors. There's a refrigerated section where we grabbed a beer and a cider--just a heads-up, you can take alcoholic drinks outside, but only if the containers are unopened. After placing our order, we were given a number and then we went outside and chose a picnic table with a beautiful view of Diamond Lake. When the pizza was ready, a staff member came out, called our number, and brought the pizza to our table. The pizza itself was delicious--great crust and flavorful toppings. We're currently staying at the RV park nearby, which unfortunately has zero cell service, so we really appreciated being able to get some signal here. Definitely a nice bonus! They also have a walk up window to order ice cream, if that's all you want. read more

Outdoor seating at picnic tables on the lake shore, delicious pizza, and supper friendly service. Does it get any better? You order inside and have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Can't bring an open container outside, but you can buy a close container inside and then bring it outside and open it. Our order took about 15 minutes to come out. It can get busy, so pay attention when they call your number if you're sitting outside. read more

Nice pizza, would probably give it a 3.5. Service was good. We ate inside and a lot of the tables were a bit sticky and still had trash leftover from previous people sitting there. We also got a salad which was very big and fresh. Nice place to get pizza if you're in the area or staying at the nearby resort. read more

While camping at for five nights, we came to South Shore Pizza 3 times for ice cream and twice for pizza. I was there once for pizza and ice cream the other two times (sent a friend for the rest). Umpqua ice cream just hits different in 90 degree weather! So good! The scoops in a cup were huge! I saw they serve alcohol on tap, but not sure what type. We got their version of a meat lovers pizza and another with just pineapple. The pizza crust was nice and chewy, I was actually surprised how delicious it was. The chicken tenders were cuts of thick white meat, not that mechanically separated version. We also got to try a plethora of Calypso lemonade that was also very refreshing on hot summer days. The restaurant was far from fancy and warm on the inside, but still better than outside. There is a dock located just outside the restaurant, so you can pull right up when you need a food break from fishing. There was a younger kid, not old enough to serve alcohol, training employees. He was super friendly and had great customer service skills. Kudos to him! read more

It is definitely resort prices. Also, if you buy alcohol there is a sign that says you can't take an open container outside. The pizza is average and wings were good and of good size. Definitely chose outside as the view of the lake is good. There are a few picnic tables in the shade and several in the sun. There were no bugs bothering our outside dining experience. They do bring your food to you outside due to giving you a number card. As we are just traveling through but if I was a local I wouldn't go back there. read more

Neither Hubby nor I cared for the pizza. We both had 2 slices and threw the rest of the large pizza in the trash. The crust was crunchy which we found weird. The place was hot as there were no air conditioning or fans, so we ordered it to go. The guy making the pizzas was taking the sleeve of his tee shirt and wiping the sweat off his forehead which I found kind of disturbing. Such a disappointment. $39 in the trash. read more

I'm a BBQ connoisseur and this is by far the best BBQ pizza I've ever had! We also ordered the supreme pizza and it was delicious as well! The staff was super friendly. We had a flat tire with no spare tire (can you believe these new cars?!) and they made a call, someone picked up our tire, we ate pizza, and our tire was back on before we paid!!! Amazing! read more

The food was just fine but the employee at the counter was incredibly rude and ruined the evening. An employee by the name of Dustin was sarcastic, impatient, and unprofessional. He made snide comments about the people in are our group viewing menus to wich he complained he only made 6. He then proceeded to hunch over the counter with his arms in a condescending pose as if we were wasting his time. He proceeded to be even ruder when my wife asked about beverages to which he rudely told us about what we saw is what he has and in the sizes in front of us. Thoughout the evening, he only was nice to the other patrons there which I assume were his friends and family. I want to give this place a 1 star, not because of their food, but because of their disrespectful , racist ways. I was eating at a table and a couple of firefighters came through, asking if they had forks and they told them they had to eat there to get the forks. The firefighter proceeded to ask him if he could buy them, because they had food, just no silverware. I think it's just plain outrageous what this world has come to, especially because I know it had to do something with their skin color. If it was a white firemen, I'm sure they would have gotten their silverware. read more

If this review was just for the pizza, ice cream, & beer offered at South Shore Pizza, I'd easily give it a 5 star rating. The ice cream is amazing (delicious Umpqua brand) & the "single" scoops are huge! The waffle cones are fresh too. They have a great selection of beer for a small place...lots of local Oregon craft brew. And they do growler fills for $16! We ordered a couple of pizzas on our last day at the campground & everyone really liked them. The location is great, right on the south shore of Diamond Lake with both indoor & outdoor lakefront seating. We ended up visiting 3 times on a recent trip. So what's the problem? The service! Yes, I'm talking about you, lamb chops sideburns guy. He was nice enough & very chatty, but good lord someone set a fire under this guy's arse. Now I'm pretty patient when I'm on vacation & I realize that not everyone works at a frantic big city pace, but 35 minutes to get 3 beers & 2 ice cream cones, when we were the only ones in line? Why? Then when we went back after a few days to order pizza to go, I had the sneaking suspicion that they'd screw up our order. Yep, they did. Our vegetarian pizza ended up being a sausage & peppers pizza. It turns out that they had our pizza but they were just packaging it up for another order. So not a huge deal but I'm sure glad that I checked the boxes before leaving. I felt bad for the family of 6 who arrived way before us & were still waiting for their pizza after we left. read more

Not an amazing experience, but great if you don't want to make your own food while camping at Diamond Lake. They mostly only have comfort food, but it's not too bad. The prices aren't cheap, but not expensive. There's also a small convenience store and ice cream bar station next to the pizza shop where you can buy dessert or firewood or general supplies/food. read more

Stop here for dinner. Seriously. This place was a lot of fun. The pizza was great. It is right on the lake, which is beautiful. Inside, it can have a nice vibe of friendly, happy strangers in a nice rustic / rural setting. Also, they have a great beer selection, which was unexpected way out here. read more

What a wonderful place. Both guys that helped my buddy and me were very helpful and friendly. We also had the diamond lake supreme pizza and it was delicious! The guy that helped us knew all about the beers that were in house. It was nice to have a educated discussion about quality beer. Also, he could see we were very interested in Oregon beers so he pulled out a manual on all the craft breweries and invited us to stay and relax as long as we'd like. There are two businesses at this same location. This review is specific to the store located inside the same building as the restaurant. Being the only store for miles around it makes sense that the prices here are sky high. However one would hope that with that you would also get good customer service. Sadly, that was not the case for myself and our group. The store does have more than most of the basic needs that you would need while camping here: coffee, bug spray, beer, etc... What we experienced though is that the attendants were not aware if you were even in the store and you had to call out to them to check out and pay for your items. I needed to buy a large bag of ice and knew that I had to carry it to our camp site. Not a problem for me really, I was prepared. What I was not prepared for is the attendant trying to convince me that I was unable to do so and that the plastic bags that I was asking for would not be able to handle the ice. Needless to say, I insisted on using the plastic bags and made it back to my camp site with no problem. Next time I will work harder to make sure that we brought everything we needed for camping so as to not have to utilize this store. read more

REALLY REALLY REALLY RUDE WORKERS. We went there at about 8:50 for ice cream and we walk in and they said we are closed sorry. (When the sign says 9) we said there's still 10 minutes till 9 and she said well sorry we want to go home. IT TAKES LITERALLY 5 MINUTES MAX TO SCOOP THE ICE CREAM. We were also here last night for pizza and chicken and the chicken we ordered didn't even come out. Our group of people probably spent around $300 there in one night. Relaxed, friendly environment. There's maybe 15 tables inside with a great view of the lake. Outside has picnic tables to enjoy your food right on the water and it was a good spot to have my dog. Food was delicious. I ordered the Diamond Lake special pizza (combo) and all ingredients were fresh and tasty, crust is med thick, but sauce and cheese were perfectly proportionate. Other dinner choices than pizza as well. Price was good for the quality and amount of food. Beer: great choices. They had 3 beers on tap when I was there, including Good Life's Sweet As. Also had a fridge full of craft 36oz beers. Best part is they sell pitchers of the draft beers and Growlers which is perfect when you're out on the lake. They also did have white and red wine by the glass and bottle. Contrary to the other review, I had amazing service. You order at the counter and both men working the restaurant were extremely friendly, patient, prompt and helpful. I re-ordered drinks in the midst of a rather busy moment and the staff had no problem refilling me and taking other's orders at the same time. Maybe sideburns guy just had an off day last time, as my experience with the service was fantastic and the reason I was prompted to write this review in the first place. read more

This place is within 10 miles from Crater Lake and is an amazing find. It's located at the Diamond lakeshore. We took a 10-inch pizza with a half of Mosquito Repellent(name of pizza) and another half of vegetarian pizza. The pizza was very juicy and delicious!! When we were at the counter we thought of ordering two 10-inch pizzas and the server/manager informed us that one 10-inch pizza would be sufficient for two people and also informed us that he can make it half and half. I feel that was really nice of him to tell us, unlike some restaurants who just think of their businesses. We ended our meal with a nice chocolate fudge ice cream on a waffle cone which was good too. One scoop in itself is pretty huge. They prove good food portions for the money you're spending. Makes it all worth it!! This is my go-to place whenever I'm at Crater lake! read more

A two-star place just begging to be 4+. Hey, you're at Diamond Lake. It's 7 miles to Crater Lake National Park and Diamond Lake is the Stunning Little Sister to the Queen right? Spectacular setting and it's a pizza parlor in the boonies. What could go wrong? Well, in short, it's the soda machine. And the soda machine is symptomatic of cleanliness problems elsewhere. The Mountain Dew was pure syrup, as was the Diet Pepsi. One of our drinks poured from the soda machine (Sierra Mist) had a bug floating in it! 3/5 drinks were bad and there's an apparent complete lack of attention to cleanliness of the ice machine (a common dirty spot in restaurants). We had to clean our own table even though it was just bussed by an employee. On the up-side: The pizza wasn't bad after an afternoon at Crater Lake National Park. The view of the lake is a million bucks. read more

Good Pizza and Food, Horrible Customer Service. My wife and I meet another family annually at Diamond Lake in the winter and spring. Altogether, we have 7 children, currently all under six but well mannered. We decided to go snowmobiling from the lodge to the pizza restaurant on our last day of our trip. Little did we know the worst storm in a decade would be coming in. By the time we got to the restaurant, the kids were freezing, so we headed in to the open door, warm pizza and a fire. A man pulled up as we did and said the restaurant was not open for another 15 minutes and we couldn't be allowed in. I asked if the manager might make an exception due to the age of the kids and the storm. He said he was in charge and the policy was not changeable. To try to keep the kids' entertained, I took them for short rides one at a time. On the second ride, we became stuck turning around and my friend left the restaurant to come help. It took about 45 minutes to get back. When we walked in, my wife informed me that due to us having the wallets, the manager would not let them order once they were allowed in until I returned with money. The manager had spoken to me earlier, and knew I was just stuck. Certainly I'd be returning to my family. My wife and friends had offered to pay using Apple pay, but they didn't accept that. There was no reason or excuse to be treated the way the manager treated our family and kids. We were polite, well outfitted, and were the only customers at the restaurant that day. Heard lots of good things about this place so we decided to try it out during a weekend visit. To start with the guy at the counter was pretty rude to anyone who came in there. They were out of almost everything ! The ice machine was broke so they charged $2 for warm soda out of the machine. Out of Chicken and Mojos and some pizza toppings. Prices were high for what you get. Bread sticks were $14 and were very over cooked ! They were worth about 3 bucks. read more

What a wonderful surprise! From the outside it looked like an old shack. Inside they had tables with beautiful views and great tasting pizza. I ordered their version of a Hawaiian pizza and it was so surprisingly delicious. The crust was thin, chew but still with the perfect crunch when you bit it. The cheese was so good and stringy. After the pizza i played in the game room on their old video games. Mrs Pac-Man and pinball were my favorites. Then after i worked up another hunger i headed for their awesome local Umpqua ice cream! I've been a server for six years. I know it can be annoying to deal with food allergies, but I was never rude to someone because they had an allergy. I just specified I cannot eat dairy. I ordered the PCT with no dairy. I kept saying no pesto because it has dairy, he assured me so many times it didn't. And that pesto never has dairy. Which is weird cuz it almost always does. He even looked at the tub it was in. I really appreciated that. But then when I picked it up, the same guy said "hey just so you know I triple checked for no dairy" he was really sweet. When I came in the other guy complained about my apparently confusing order when they weren't busy. And as I took a bite he told me there was cheese in it. Showed me the tub of pesto. Third ingredient was cheese. ... sooo. Yeah and he didn't even offer to remake it or refund me. He said it was my fault cuz he went to look for me and apparently didn't see me. I was right outside at the table. I just don't like being treated like I'm a nuisance. I'm always so nice to them and I tipped them even on a Togo order like 12%. It's totally cool that they made a mistake. That's totally understandable. But why the rudeness and mean attitude? Not to mention, this 12' (which seems smaller) pizza is $21!!! read more

To start the pizza rates the two stars. Our wait in line to order took 20 minutes our pizza came 1 hr. And 20 minutes later. Your in the sticks and starving so we enjoyed it. The staff was another story the people making pizzas were arguing loudly, the cashier taking orders coughed in his hand three times and rubbed his eyes twice then handed a woman her drink cups by placing his fingers inside her cups. I told him that I didn't think he realized it to be nice and he did wash his hands before taking our order. A family near us asked a waitress if she could by pass the line and get another wine and the waitress was very rude. The customer told her she was rude and the waitress called her a bitch. The same waitress dropped paper plates on the floor as she was delivering a pizza and she cussed loudly. It's a resort area and the Windows looking out to the lake were filthy and covered with cobwebs inside and out. The outside needs washed and painted. And all I can say is DON'T use the restrooms. The attached store ice cream shop is dirty and they sell out dated food one box of cookies had a March expired date and we were there yesterday in August. On a posture note the lake is nice. read more
