We had a leak in a wraparound porch on our 6-year-old home. We called South Shore Roofing on the recommendation of multiple neighbors who had used them. That's right, multiple neighbors used South Shore Roofing and were 100% happy with their work. We had an appointment on a Friday afternoon, they showed up when they said they would. They confirmed the appointment in advance as well. We received an estimate that day and signed the contract shortly thereafter. They took care of everything including getting POA/HOA approval, which was not an easy feat with our POA. We received approval and work commenced within the week. They sent me photos of the work that they were doing as they did it too. They found dry rot under the shingled roof and replaced all the wood before placing the new roof on. We had a shingled wraparound porch, but opted to go with a metal roof for looks and longevity. We LOVE it! Customer service is top notch, follow up is amazing. Everything went well. Work is great. Looks beautiful. Very responsive. Can't say enough good about the entire South Shore part of this. My issue is with the financing company they use. Their call center is in the Philippines. When communicating with them I have to focus on what the Individual words were instead of what they were trying to tell me. I know, My problem, right. But the issue is when I try to get the US based customer service I always get routed to the call center. They return calls and leave messages (because I don't babysit my phone). The message is always the same...we need to talk to you call our call center. If you can pay cash then do so...I'd think hard if financing is needed. read more

I needed several things done on the roof, including replacing an old skylight that was original to the home, and we talked to several companies. My wife and I decided South Shore was the one to go with. They were great. Showed up when they said they would and did a great job. Love the new skylight. Then hurricane Helene came through and I needed to have them do a few additional repairs, replacing a couple of lost shingles, etc. They put me on the list, and warned me it might take a few days since so many people needed roofing help. When Helene came through Savannah, it left my roof with extensive damage. I identified three businesses to get quotes from for the repairs. The first one I called was South Shore Roofing. I spoke with their representative (Brett) and immediately I knew I was speaking with the right company to get the work done. I contracted them to do the work and within a week the crew came in, repaired the damage, and left the place in a condition like they were never there. Arriving on time for the estimate and then finishing the job in one day, along with covering up all of my greenery and cleaning up afterwards immaculately. On my end, I had the wrong size vent for my stove pipe, and the boss came back and finished that up with a little bit of help from me. These people suck all the way around! My husband called to set up an appt for getting an estimate on our roof - the guy never showed up! Their argument??? That the appt wasn't with ME, the Wife! Then the guy LIES about showing up and going up on the roof - which he never did! Why do I know? BECAUSE I WAS HERE! But Oh, I'm just the WIFE, so it doesn't matter!!! Then he gives my husband a bogusly HIGH estimate (remember, he didn't even go up on the roof - doens't know how big of an extension we have in the back, if any, what kind of damage WE already know is there - ANYTHING!!" Their argument? Still!? Oh hey, but the MEETING wasn't WITH ME!! Michael's Roofing DID show up AND didn't mind that I was the one here!!! Their guy DID go up on the roof, got accurate measurements, SAW the damage!!! He gave us two estimates - one for metal, one for shingles - BOTH included replacing as much decking as would need to be replaced! GUESS WHAT!!! The shingle estimate was HALF of what SS's guy gave us for shingles!!! The METAL roof was even $2,000 cheaper than the SS's for shingles!! PLUS Michael's guy gave it all in writing to ME - THE WIFE!! SS's guy - NOTHING! NO PAPER WORK!! OOOOOhhhh, now I get it - from one of the crew members that was working on our house - makes sense too! These people ONLY want to work on high end homes, and we are low life trailer trash - if a nice 1500sq double wide mobile home is TRASH! But hey, that's almost $6000 that wasn't good enough to go into South Shore's pockets!!! That's find with me, THE WIFE!!! Because I now have an AweSome New Roof - including new decking over most of it! Now, I'll tell you my secret!! This low life stupid wife that doesn't matter to South Shore - used to WORK in roofing!!! Yep! ME!!! Now, I'm telling you - it doesn't MATTER how expensive your home is. It's isn't going to be worth shit if you let these idiots do your roofing!!! Just because they will only work on higher end homes, doesn't mean their work is high quality work!!! I used Southshore Roofing because of the great reviews. My experience was repeated disappointment from my roof being done almost 2 months later than initial timeframe to shotty workmanship, a skeleton crew, being told errors would be fixed and no one showing up to fix mistakes. The week my roof actually was started Southshore had a 6000.00 deposit that had been cashed for weeks. My home owners insurance cancelled me due to a bad roof not yet replaced. Tyler who I was working with I had called for 3 days 4 different calls and messages and I could not get a call back. I called the office and spoke with Casey and was told my job was on the schedule for Friday. The day of the job came and I was now working with Kevin. I waited until 9:30 and I called Kevin. He asked how I was and I replied I would be doing great if I had roofers here. He said he didn't know they weren't here and would figure out what was going on. I had been told to stay gone so I would not hear pounding all day and I headed back out assured roofers would be there. I also had 2 kids with me all day. I got home at 3:30pm and still no roofers. Again I called Kevin and had the same conversation except this time he called me back and told me the roofers came and he was here. He said they walked the job and he sent them to lunch. They had car trouble and would be there shortly. They did come. They worked until dark and then had my husband drive them to the auto parts store. The next day no one came in until 10. It was a Saturday and we had pounding and scraping again until dusk. We had a partial crew. Apparently that is okay over Cinco De Mayo. Sunday 2 guys showed up. I spoke with the crew boss and his crew had late nights and hung over. I called Kevin wondering why only a partial crew. He was defensive and said that was all they needed. They also ran out of materials. Flashing that should go on before shingles was put on after shingles as an after thought. Monday Day 4 of my roof being done. My last skylight went up and flashings and remaining roof finished. I looked it over and saw vents painted instead of replaced. I called Tyler and he said he would see what could be done to just have them replaced. I had been told they would be replaced. After all the issues Kyle who is now "dealing" with all of these issues and came by to inspect the roof. He did say someone would be here to replace vents the next day. He later called and said it would be Tuesday and I was fine with that. You guessed it no one came and no one called!!!!! I would avoid South Shore roofing they lack honesty, integrity and professionalism!! read more

Each Team Member provided consistently courteous and quality service within the realm of their specialty area. Initial contact via phone was with Brett, who provided an overview of services and initiated the scheduling of our initial meeting. Sales Rep., Kevin was not only delightful, but delivered a thorough inspection inclusive of rooftop and attic photos illustrating our needs. He outlined the process, discussed color options, and answered all of our, many, questions. Kevin, also, provided things for us to consider that allowed us to be better prepared; noise concerns, pets, securing of items both inside and outside). The Project Manager, Michael, helped determine a timeline and communicated all project details; dumpster arrangements, materials delivery, etc. Crew Manager, Juan, oversaw the actual roofing, working alongside his crew to ensure quality and efficiency, but with consideration to maintaining a "clean" site using tarps around perimeter and covering pool to concentrate the "debris field." Suffice it to say, only ONE roofing nail was found afterwards, and this, prior to Company Owner, Kyle Patrick's final sweep and inspection.
