Words cannot express how lucky I am that I found Alana on a local wedding page. We hired a day of…read morecoordinator off that page/from an expo almost a year and half before our wedding, and after she took our deposit and we caught her in a bunch of lies, and she then tried to con us into paying extra for services we already contract for. Honestly, I was so depressed and discouraged, I did not want to plan my fairytale wedding anymore. After several months, I decided to start looking for a new coordinator. Our wedding was very unique, and I hand made almost every little detail. We got married on a private pond, there is no staff, there is simply no one there to help with set up. Our entire wedding was in the hands of whomever we decided to be in control of the set up. The wedding had many moving parts, many vendors had multiple locations and strict timelines to follow.
Alana was so great, she came to our house to meet us and go over the wedding, and she was super affordable. Leading up to the wedding, she was in constant contact with me, always replying to my messages and questions within minutes. She asked questions such as if it was ok if she brought an intern/shadow, what she should wear, etc. - it amazed me that she was so considerate of what I wanted. We met with her a week before the wedding and went over everything, very stress free.
She was early to meet us for our rehearsal the night before, she got there before us! We had 8 kids in our bridal party, so the rehearsal was very important. In fact, many members of the bridal party did not even know who they were paired up with or the order prior to the rehearsal. Because we had extra time, we were able to practice 3 times, until we had everything perfect. It was great to go through everything with everyone, as we came across some things that we had not thought of (where my bouquet would go, etc.)
On to the wedding day...Alana and Shanaye arrived early, and they even spent the night in a local hotel to cut down on driving time and fatigue (and did not charge me extra, as many vendors do). They very successfully set everything up, and most importantly coordinated all the other vendors..... florist, chair rental, dj, horse & carriage, JP, photo & video, etc. When I arrived, Shanaye walked out to the carriage to "cue" us to head down, as this was very important as far as timing for the ceremony. When I pulled up, I could see all my hard work together, my family and friends, and most importantly my groom. Alana was standing there ready to help my mother and I out of the carriage. She had my veil ready for me to put on. Everything looked EXACTLY how I wanted it to.
To be honest, my wedding day was perfect. Nothing went wrong, everything simply was perfect. I owe this to Alana and Shanaye and I am very grateful for both of them. Most importantly when the ceremony ended, they ensured that everything was packed up securely, and checked in to make sure everything went ok. If you are looking for professionalism and someone who truly wants to make your wedding perfect, you need to hire Alana. To be honest, I could write more and more about her, but I think you get the idea.
