I was happy to find a diverse offering of authors and genres, as well as picks that were more tailored to Hampton folks which were fun to look through as well. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and happy to make recommendations based on what you were in the mood for or authors you'd liked previously. Value wise the prices weren't all that bad, and were pretty on par with what you'd find if you were to order online through Amazon. I loved the cute paper bags and free bookmark that comes with your purchase, it was a nice touch. Overall, would definitely recommend stopping in here if you love to read!

Called on Sunday, Aug. 1st to see when the gift card was mailed. I volunteered to drive out to pick it up. They claimed it was already mailed out which was a lie. The doors were already locked and an older blonde woman promptly waved through the door that they were closed. She came over to the door when we continued to stand there, and we pleaded to her to let us run in and buy a coffee mug. She told us no, and that they were closed. We told her the website said they were open until 7PM and she responded that it was "an old website," and "we close at 6" (It was still at least 3 minutes until 6PM). She rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed, and unlocked the door to let us in. As we were greatly thanking her, she sarcastically responded, "I would love to get home and I know my family would absolutely love for me to come home too." While we are greatly appreciative that she let us buy the coffee mug (We were in and out of the store within 45 seconds), we did not appreciate the unnecessary attitude. We will not be returning and if you plan to visit this store, ensure they are open beforehand, to avoid being disappointed and encountering rude employees.

I wanted to buy a limited-edition publication and I did a web search for sellers. Harper's Books was one of the very few booksellers with a copy, and their price was also the most reasonable (admittedly that was probably because the few other sellers had signed copies). I e-mailed the bookstore and received a response within literally about a minute. There were several e-mails back-and-forth re: certain details - and Chris (the co-director) was exceptionally responsive, accommodating & pleasant. The photos alone make the store look lovely and the service was superb!

And when you got a dick with a bad vibe running the place, the last thing you want to do is purchase anything from him. Pity.
