This is a great little spot. Pork Belly sandwich made by really friendly staff "as I like it". No idea the exact combo they used but really tasting. Fresh, lots of options. I will be back

southeast is one of my favourite spots for sandwiches. they have daily specials and tons of options that you can customize to your liking. our absolute favourite are their tacos, pork belly sandwiches, sriracha fries and matcha bubble tea to drink. It's an awesome spot for lunch and dinner! Special mention to the lovely, friendly and welcoming staff - i look forward to seeing them every time I visit with the fam. I highly recommend this spot!
What I really like is I find the younger generation far more mature and wise and more humble than the older generation, right away owner greeted me with a smile gave good recommendation I tried the bulgogi beef, you can pick the sauces and toppings you want very reasonably priced the inside looks like a fast food joint but I wouldn't call this place fast food, the beef was tender melts in your mouth, the toppings were really good, the sauces the owner recommended were excellent the avocado creama, it was a really good sandwich better than pg clucks, sandwich came quick, nice and hot, nice crispy bread, tender beef and the topping complemented the sandwich really well, it is far, but the sandwich was really good plain and simple

Unfortunately, this made for a disappointing experience and felt like a waste of money. Also, they refer to it as 'KFC'--isn't that a copyright infringement with the actual KFC?

I was passing by the area last Friday and was intrigued by the raving reviews of this sandwich shop so I gave it a try and wow, the food was excellent! The 5 star rating is definitely well-deserved! I got the daily special which was a bulgogi bun with kimchi fries for $15.99 while my boyfriend got the build-your-own bun with KFC as his protein option for $10.99. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious! My bulgogi bun was perfectly crispy on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside from a meld of bugolgi, melted cheese, and sautéed mushrooms. The beef was tender and flavourful, and overall, generously portioned. The kimchi fries were also loaded with pickled carrots, kimchi, green onions, and mayo sauce. My only critique is that they were a bit heavy-handed with the mayo and I would ask for less next time. As the portions here are quite good for the price, I was full with just half of my sandwich and fries so I reheated the other half in the oven the next day and it still turned out delicious! Overall, I really like the variety in their menu and the various fresh homemade sauces that they offer. I would definitely come back to try their other menu items and recommend this place to others! It's just too bad they don't have a second location closer to me..!
Was able to try this place out because I was in the area and it was lunch time. I am not disappointed I did. We ordered take out, and customer service was great. They recommended some favourites and we went with those. We chose to order the taco trio and brioche trio with some fries that were dusted with sirracha flavouring. Honestly appreciate their cleverness with the protein names. We ordered the moo-nila, holy shrimp, bok bok, kfc, pulled oink, and big belly nelly. They have an abundant list of toppings and sauces that they make in house. If it becomes overwhelming for you, just ask them for help. He ended up topping the brioche buns for us and they all turned out amazing. For the tacos, really liked how they double it so it didn't just fall apart on you. For the brioche -they use a Filipino bread called pandesal, and if you've ever had that, then you already know it's good.

This place gives generous amount of food! The price is reasonable and their service was quite quick. I ordered their pork belly salad bowl. I got to choose a dressing. I chose the avocado dressing and it was really good. For the Tacos, we can choose 3 different meats and dressings. The Calamari was a side dish size. The calamari was a bit limp and falling apart but it tasted good. They gave a huge amount of calamari for a side dish. I would come back here again.!

One of my absolute favorite spots for a quick bite even though it is almost never on the way but when I can, I make the trip and have also introduced many family and friends to this place as well. It's a small spot but does have a decent amount of seating. Very casual in style, where you order and pay at the counter before seating yourself, and food is not served to the table so they call out your order for pick up. Menu is easy to follow: you pick a vessel and a protein, as well as your choice of toppings and sauces. You can also choose sides and drinks as well. They also have daily deals. My go-to is the HOLY SHRIMP as a SALAD bowl. I top it with cheese, caramelized onions, crispy onions, cucumber, southeast salsa, and sweet pickled cabbage. Their avocado cream is a must-have sauce and this time, I requested a little bit of their roasted peanut sauce as well. The shrimp will definitely have you saying "HOLY!" because they're so crunchy and flavorful. Not to mention, a really good size! One serving is about 5-6 large pieces of shrimp. The K.F.C. was the first protein I tried and is my second go-to choice. Service is always friendly and in general, the entire process is just so easy and convenient. Don't be fooled by the ambiance, surprisingly delicious and massive sandwiches coming out of this kitchen. They do sandwiches, burgers, tacos with a fusion twist on each one, whether it's korean, filipino, chinese and vietnamese - their take on flavors are bold and unassuming in this cozy restaurant. Ambiance: Think of a mom/pop shop - these places usually have the best flavors coming out of their kitchen - this is what it is. They got spotify jamming some dope hip hop in the back too. Service: Order at the front and they will call you up when the order is ready - primarily a take out joint and a quick eats type of spot. Don't expect them to hand feed you or toss you a table side caesar. They are super friendly though. Food: Cod Tacos - Big A** Cod pieces in these tacos, one order comes with 3, you can pick your sauces and toppings on anything you order. The cod was fresh, very meaty, didn't have a fishy flavor to it and the combination of flavors was definitely up there. Ours was spicy with the kamikaze sauce and the habanero peach. (5/5) Pulled Oink Sandwich - Fresh baked bread with slow roasted pork shoulder with sweet and savoury sauce, all the toppings on the sandwich. The portion was the size of my head. We had leftovers to take home from the sandwich - good balance of flavors, sweet, savory, spicy. (5/5) The only thing you have to prepare for is to get messy cause these sandwiches are a two hander sandwich, and the tacos are well - tacos. Parking: Lots of spots in this parking lot, in the Longo's plaza. Come eat here if you want good food as if your brother is making you a sandwich and has no idea what portion control is. read more

Customer Service was superb the moment when I walked into Southeast Sandwiches. The staff here so friendly and cheerful making me feeling so welcome! What to order? As a first timer, I would suggest the 3 Mini Taco/Buns as you can choose 3 different proteins/toppings combinations and it is great for sharing! Now the question is which 3 out of the 6 different protein and 2 vegetarian options you want and what toppings/sauces to go with each! Now my head is spinning! 3 Philippine Brioche with Chicken 'Un"Skewered Oh My Cod! Fairy Dusted Pork Belly Really tasty. Really good. Interesting flavours. I might go easy on the toppings especially with the mini size as there might be too many things going on! Taco Tuesdays at $2. I think I would like to have half a dozen please?! read more

I came to Southeast Sandwiches with relatively low expectations - it's in a pretty low key spot and the $5 special sandwiches sort of tempered me given how cheap the sandwiches were. I opted for the steak sandwich on a portuguese bun, and it was incredible! The steak is more of a braised beef, but it's flavourful, hearty, and they don't skimp out here. The toppings - including pickled cabbage, crispy shallots, and cilantro - lent themselves to the name of the place (i.e., 'Southeast). The bun was good too. I do wish they had more topping options though. For instance, tomatoes, carrots, caramalized onions, mushrooms, and so on would go really well with this type of sandwich. At $5, this sandwich was a steal - I'll be back for sure! read more

Looking for a great place to get freshly made sandwiches in Vaughan? Look no further than Southeast Sandwiches. I came here on their 3rd day of opening. The restaurant is located in an outdoor mall, so there's plenty of parking. They also have lots of tables, which makes it very convenient of dine in. Given that they're relatively new, the ordering and preparation process was fairly slow, so don't expect to get in and out quickly. The staff suggested that the restaurant is known for their Portuguese buns, which they get from a local bakery every other day. We ordered the braised beef steak and the cod on a Portuguese bun. Those buns were stuffed and that was without the topping. You can add any toppings you want and any sauce that you want. Once the sandwich is constructed, it is then toasted on a flat top. I thought the sandwiches were tasty. The braised beef was quite savory and was my favorite of the two. The cod was delicious as well, but I thought the braised beef had a lot more flavor. I didn't think that a single sandwich alone would fill you up, so definitely get a side as well. read more

Southeast Sandwiches is a great addition to the local food scene in Woodbridge. They offer an assortment of tasty southeast asian options that can be served in a sandwich, 3 brioches, 3 tacos, nachos or salads. The pinoy pulled pork is flavorful and goes well with the sweet-n-sour garnishes in the brioches. The pork belly is also worth ordering, and is tender with crispy fat. The portions are quite large so the meals are very good value. Better yet, the set of tacos/brioches can be mixed with different proteins. The pulled pork, pork belly and cod taco combo was delicious. Service is very friendly and chef owner Michael is always a pleasure to chat with. First time here, I was disappointed that the veal sandwich shop closed after the burrito place for takeout but happy to find a new sandwich shop. Now that I've tasted the food, I'm fairly sure that they will remain a popular staple here. read more

How good could a sandwich shop possibly be to warrant a 5 star average? AMAZINGLY GOOD DECOR: 4/5 Unassuming storefront & interior. They have a couple of tables available for you to sit and eat, but it's not a full dine in restaurant where they give table service or anything. FOOD: 5/5 The food hit me like a truck. You essentially choose a type of meat + a type of bread + your veggies and toppings. Similar to ordering a sub at Subway. Where it shines is A. The meat is freaking delicious, and B. The portions are huge. We got the pulled pork on 3 sliders and I only needed to eat 2 and I was full. I don't even know how to explain why it was so good but the flavours just hit right. Kinda like the impact of having banh mi boys the first time, but way better because of the level of customization. SERVICE: 5/5 they seem to have a lot of usual customers as they chat up a lot of their diners and know them by name. There was one customer that ordered the 3 tacos option and chose a different type of meat for every taco. He spent lots of time choosing toppings to suit each individual taco. I don't know how common that is here but the fact the kitchen staff was accommodating enough to even offer that is above and beyond. I can't wait to come back to try EVERYTHING. read more

The brainchild Of two buddies, instructions here are fairly simple: 1 Pick your vessel (bun, tacos, nachos, salad bowl or brioche buns) 2 Pick your protein (pork, beef, chicken, veggie, seafood) 3 Pick your toppings and sauces (avocado crema, charred jalapeño, signature southeast, peach habanero, roasted peanut, sweet BBQ, kamikaze). If coming for the first time, I recommend ordering the crispy pork belly and/or jumbo shrimp which came as 3 tacos per order. I wasn't sure what sauces or toppings so asked them to choose for me. For a drink, we ordered the passion fruit tea which was a great accompaniment. Tip: check for weekday specials, including $2 taco Tuesdays for chicken, beef, pulled pork or jackfruit. read more

The name doesn't give them justice. So much more than just sandwiches, above and beyond. The portions are generous, the food is AMAZING. You are missing out if you haven't tried it yet. Ever since my husband and I discovered this place a few months ago, we make sure to go here anytime we're in Vaughan! They definitely deserve the positive reviews since this cute ma and pa type place has so many great things going for it. First, the sandwiches here are so fresh and delicious! I love how there are so many choices for vessels (buns, tacos, Filipino brioche, bowls), meats, veggies and sauces to create your perfect sandwich. There's really something for everyone. I personally like their seasoned beef sandwich that comes with the freshly baked bun, all the veggie toppings, as well as avocado cream sauce and barbecue sauce. The chicken and pulled pork sandwiches are also pretty good. Next, the prices are fantastic! Buying the sandwiches at regular price at about $8+tax are already great but buying them for cheaper during their lunch hours is even better! They currently have a promo during 11am-3pm where you can buy their chicken, beef or pulled pork sandwiches for $5 each. Talk about an amazing deal! Also, their staff are super nice and really seem to enjoy working there. For instance, I'll never forget how I was stuck in traffic the last time I was on my way to Southeast Sandwiches and decided to call in literally just before 3 p.m. to order for pick up, hoping that I'd still be able to get their lunch deal. The guy I spoke to said they would honour it as I was going to pick it up soon anyway. Awesome customer service! Reason for Visit: Saw this restaurant with an absurd 80+ 5 star reviews that doesn't cost ~$200 a person. Menu: I decided to try this on a Tuesday. Unfortunately, first thing to mention is their signature sandwiches promo (~$5/ sandwich basically around 50% off) is from 11 to 3pm. It would be nice if they have a special for entire day once a week so dinner people can enjoy some specials too. Anyhow, I got their tacos as it was Taco Tuesday special for $2/taco. I got one of each of their promo flavors (beef, chicken, pork, jackfruit). I also decided to try some siracha fries. The jackfruit taco to me was meh. It was interesting. My favourite was their pork and beef tacos. Juicy and flavorful. Also, very interesting with the veggies they add on. Pretty as well with all the colors. Siracha fries were the bomb. Nice kick to it and their mayonnaise dip was very tasty. To be honest, I felt their fries was the highlight of my meal. Service: Exceptional. The owner KJ had a brief chat with me and I really saw the passion and joy he has in his work. I mean how rare is that, a young aspiring chef starting his own restaurant and actually genuinely enjoys his work. Atmosphere: Very neat, tidy. As other Yelpers mention, not too many tables so don't expect to get a seat during rush hours. Overall: I just gave this review a 5 anyways even though I felt their tacos were more of a 4/5. Unbelievable. I can't believe this store has not expanded yet. They seem to specialize in modern Asian fusion cuisine dishes (think crispy pork, marinated beef and Korean fried chicken) on top of your favorite type of bread or taco. My partner and I had a hard time deciding on what to order but thankfully the chef was very approachable and offered some good insight on what's popular. We finally settled on the crispy pork on a sandwich and 3 varieties of meat (marinated beef, pulled pork and Korean fried chicken) on separate individual tacos. The fun did not stop there. They had an exciting selection of standout toppings (aside from your essential standard) like fried scallion and Asian slaw. Lastly the sauces that they have in the line up are absolutely incredible. Off the top of my head, they had habanero peach, avocado creme, kamakazi (this one really has a nice kick) and my favorite was actually their house sauce. The star of the show for us was actually the crispy sandwich! All of the breads are apparently sourced locally which I appreciated. After selecting all of the toppings and sauces he placed some nice butter on outsides of the sandwich before smashing onto the grill. This was some next level stuff which resulted with each bite having different textures, richness and crunch along with the nice fat and crisp from the pork. I would definitely order this one again! The tacos were also great but I believe I may have went a little all out on selecting the toppings so obviously there was a huge mess. The chef was right to recommend the Korean fried chicken. It was super crispy and he was right not to have too much sauce on this one. Overall I was blown away with how good this place was. I can feel that the chef was passionate with his work and creativity. I cannot wait to come back to try out the other dishes and overall the price was affordable for around $21 for one nice big sandwich and 3 tacos. read more
