We used a coupon for $20 extra in credits, we purchased another $50 on top of that to start off to see how we liked it. During our visit there was a few birthday parties going on, kids screaming and running around. Most of the games we played seemed to be sticky or greasy on the controls. Unfortunately, several games that we wanted to play (power roll, coin pushers) were either broken or jammed. Also, each play was pretty expensive compared to other arcades we've played at. The only staff I saw was at their respective counters, none were seen walking the floor checking on things, or cleaning. The tickets we did win, there was nothing much in their prize area we wanted (too many junky toys and candy), so we gave the credits to a nearby kid. We enjoy seeing an arcade prize area tailored towards kids and adults. Unless they change it up, I highly doubt we will be back.

The animal enclosures are tiny. Like, alarmingly small. (They had the poor electric eel was crammed into a tank barely larger than he was.) And some of them clearly hadn't been cleaned in awhile. (The axolotl tank, in particular, was in desperate need of cleaning, with streamers of green algae growing on all of its surfaces.) It was also an interesting choice to stick a jungle gym/play area right in the middle of everything, so that the animals are inundated with the happy screams of children all day long. That's nothing against the kids, but it demonstrates where Blue Zoo's priorities seem to be. To their credit, the staff seemed to be trying. But there is simply not enough space for this place to be what it's trying to be. Any worthwhile zoo, large or small, needs to balance the needs of its animals with the needs of its visitors. Tragically, Blue Zoo fails to find that balance. I had hoped that the positive reviews on this place were accurate. I used to live near an aquarium, and dearly miss visiting it. But places like this are not the answer. If your family loves animals, take them on a road trip to Woodland Park Zoo or Point Defiance Aquarium; places where the animals are professionally cared for. As for Blue Zoo, all I can say is this: please don't give these guys your money.

I had a group of about 10 young boys scheduled to play laser tag, and about 30 minutes before our reservation, I received a text from the owner letting me know their computer system was down and we might not be able to play. When we arrived, the system was still down--but the team immediately stepped up. The desk attendant gave everyone in our group unlimited arcade credits and even offered to cover the cost of another activity in town if we preferred. We decided to stay, and they generously ordered two pizzas for the group. They refunded my reservation in full since we couldn't play as planned, allowed me to reschedule at no charge, and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. Then, at the last minute, their system came back online--and they still let us play a free game of laser tag! These guys truly know how to treat their customers. Exceptional service all around! Their arena is also massive and the gear is high quality. It was tons of fun and they said they are the 2nd largest laser tag arena in the nation.

Seems small, and unassuming on the outside, but expansive, and immersive on the inside. Walls lined with various figures and bits ranging from the common to the rare. Ultimately, in spite of the massive amount of games (I even learned to play Super Dungeon Explore), or the extensive effort that's put into an amazing play-space... the people are what made the experience worthwhile. Want to learn a game? They'll give you the rundown. Have some old Magic cards to sell? They'll explain the value and give you the options they can provide. Wanna play a game against the person who consistently rolls poorly? Bob's typically available, and always ready to show off his reliably poor dice rolling. These folks have brought together a community. Groups of individuals who often don't know how to interact with people, come out of their shells and become open. Opportunities to meet some fantastic individuals that would be lost elsewhere. Beyond making a sale or offering a product, there is a community of gamers who are willing to offer games, advice, trades, laughs, and friendship. I'm an unashamed gamer. Yet my family hardly knows much more about the games I play, than how to roll dice. Still, when birthdays/holidays come around, I can send them to The Gamer's Haven, confident in the knowledge that whatever they find me will be well worth the trip. Frankly, you can get most of this stuff online, or from a big-box-store at a discounted price. (Show the staff a better price, and see if they can't make your trip worthwhile) But you owe it to yourself to see what's different about The Gamer's Haven.
