Plenty of parking for 18-wheelers, cars, and campers, with a large restroom area (with family restroom). Yet the surprise of this fairly remote rest stop in the middle of BFE, Wyoming was the gas station across the street yet relatively in the same area as the rest stop. Why go anywhere else for gas or eats? Cheyenne is 45 miles away, followed by Denver at 145 miles. By comparison, Casper is 133 miles in the opposite direction, followed by Sheridan, WY and Billings, MT (Billings is 333 miles away). There really isn't too many good rest stop areas to take a breather in- possibly the larger one in Sheridan, which has hotels and gas stations around it. Traveling at night on this stretch of I-25 at night can be challenging. If you are tired and slightly fatigued when traveling either direction in between Cheyenne and Casper, bookmark this rest area. Well worth the stop.

There is a family restroom with changing table which definitely helps. Well used and scratched but still appreciated. I've changed diapers in many different places in my lifetime and a changing table, no matter how beat up, is the best. I think there is a vending machine but we didn't have time to linger so I couldn't check it out. But the rest stop was a nice one and it makes the long drive tolerable. Wheelchair accessible.

Registration was quick and easy. Didn't even need to give a credit card for incidentals. We checked in around 9:30p... the room was okay but very basic even from the "normal" basic. Can't expect much from what we paid for. And not that we needed it but the room didn't have a microwave oven. So weird that the mini fridge was plugged in on the sink vanity... nowhere to plug in my blow dryer. I was glad we didn't need to walk down the hallway... our room was the first one from the registration desk. We did get there later at night, and when we got there we had to wait for someone to come to the front desk to check us in. Somehow we had a reservation but not a room?? But the guy working the front desk found a different room that was technically an "upgrade." He didn't charge us extra for the upgrade, which was really nice, and made sure to keep us in a non-smoking room, which was also really nice. Im pretty sure the room he gave us was supposed to not be rented as the second bed was broken, but we only needed one bed and having a place to stay the night was more important. The room itself was.. okay. Again, you get what you pay for. The carpet was threadbare, and there was an adjoining door that we had to move furniture in front of. (Which, to be fair, we would do at a nicer hotel too.) The sheets were clean and new looking, the towels were clean and new looking, but overall the room (and hotel) was starting to fall into disrepair. The window was old, but there's not much to look at outside anyways. The shower was dirty, but the toilet, sink, and counter were clean. The heater worked REALLY well, we had to turn it off halfway through the night and it was on the lowest setting. Honestly, the worst part was the location, which was super seedy. Overall, you get what you pay for. I was not expecting a 5 star location for $45. The service was very nice at check in and check out. In the morning the location is much less ominous, but I probably wouldn't stay here again.

The Terry Bison Ranch is the only place I have ever heard about where you can hand feed Bison. They also have other things to do here. We got here an hour and a half before our train departed and we have plenty to do. They have lots of animals on this ranch from full grown ostriches and baby ones, a long horn cow, plenty of chickens, baby bison that you can pet, lots of horses, goats, and much more. On the ride over to feed the bison, they had a train robbery reenactment which was fun. The whole train ride takes about an hour to make sure to use the restrooms before getting on. It's a great place to bring kids. Prices were reasonable. $20 per adult $10 for kids to ride the train and $10 for bison feed which is a must. They give you a decent amount of food in the bag. No reservations needed you can buy tickets at the general store. There they have plenty of souvenirs to buy and can answer any questions you may have. An easy day trip from Denver. If you are on a roadtrip I'd recommend stopping here if you are heading to Wyoming from Colorado or vice versa.

Now, Terry's allows feeding, petting and close up photography of their bison. The resort is a ranch and not the Four Seasons, so let's dial down our expectations and recognize the workings of the ranch. There will be dirt, poop, feathers, hair, urine, and unkempt struck and other things gentle folk may find unsavory. We found the ranch charming. We have experienced many close encounters with wild bison and most were less than rewarding, but exciting. Terry removes this. The train creaks, and groans into the herd. Windows open, and your bison friend pop up for food. You can touch them and enjoy close photos/videos. Kids will love this and animal lovers also. Your trip back the platform will provide some ranch insights and views of horse stables. That was our visit. You may also trail ride on horseback and even participate in dude ranching. We feel the ranch offered all it advertised and we will return with the little ones. Keep up the good work Terry and all the support it.

I only dropped it to 4-stars because we had 4 little kids and tons of suitcases plus 2 pack&plays, and getting up the stairs to a room on the second floor was embarrassing. The one and only luggage dolly was in use by someone else and there was no elevator. But the stairs were not steep and so even though we looked and sounded like a circus, they weren't awful to navigate. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!
