I never really write reviews but I love this salon! I'm new to the area and tried a couple of other places before finding Southern, and I'm so glad I did. The owner is incredibly sweet, and I've had about five different people do my nails now--every single one has done a fabulous job, so you really can't go wrong with whoever they book you with. I'm also pretty picky about my dip being too thick, and they always get it just right. I've come in with pictures of what I want a few times, and they really take their time helping me find a color that matches what I'm showing them. The salon is always very clean, and there's such a great sense of community there. Every time I'm in, they're greeting customers by name, and it's clear they have a lot of regulars. I can definitely see why--this is officially my new nail place! read more

This was my second time visiting this nail salon. The first time was great and my gel manicure lasted a full two weeks without any chipping or peeling. I was so happy to find a great salon. I went back for a second visit and it was the opposite. I had an appointment but it was rushed to accommodate walk ins. The entire process was rushed. The tech didn't fully remove my prior manicure, just filed it down a little then painted over it. My nails were cut to uneven lengths and then filed crooked. I asked to fix it a few times before I gave up. The nail polish was applied unevenly and the tech didn't wait for the full uv cycle to finish before going to the next coat. The tech also painted far from the cuticle so it looks like I already have a week of grow out not that it's a fresh manicure. No surprise, it started peeling off two days later. read more

Experience and results were underwhelming and mediocre. After reading through the reviews I was excited to try this place for a fill-in on my way to Charlotte. The staff was very nice and it was easy to reserve an appointment online but my manicure itself left me unimpressed. My nails are uneven lengths & shapes and are too far from the cuticle, they already look grown out. Because it's Halloween I asked for a ghost design on one finger, showed a picture, and they drew a gigantic ghost on each finger that look out of place. I know I could've asked them to re-do it but I was in a rush and they technically did what I asked, I'm just disappointed. Great experience today! Mother in law and I went in for much overdue pedis. Made a reservation earlier in the week and was able to get a spot easily. Came in a bit early and was greeted nicely, picked out colors and waited for only a short bit before they called us back right at the appointment time. I'm so happy to be able to get in with Southern Belle for a pedicure. I haven't had a pedicure in 5 months. My feet no longer have the OnlyFans potential. But I was determined to bring in 2023 with fresh nails and feet. Managed to set an appointment on Fresha.com which was very easy to do. It seem like appointments are necessary because while I was there. They have turned 3 walk ins clients away because they're so booked. I had the Firecracker Pedicure which is 2 steps up from the basic. I can pick my own flavor. Ben was my manicurist. He was gentle and we didn't converse very much which was fine with me. The pedicure involves the usual nail clipping, file, cut cuticles, buffing etc. The Firecracker involves warm towels and finish with hot stones. It was good for someone like me who haven't had a pedicure in months. But next time, I'll opt for the deluxe with paraffin wax My gel mani was basic. Nothing to complain or describe. All in all. The place was clean. They handle everything up to sanitation codes. Staffs wore masks, etc. I already booked my next pedicure appt. read more

I arrive at this salon at 930 and I'm the first customer to walk in and am immediately told that they are completely booked for the day, this is after she looks up to see others walk in. I said thank you and left. I realize that finding good nail techs and swanky salons is at a premium in this small town but wow to not take first time customer walk ins who are the first customer of the day? Love! Love! Love! Coming here! The ladies that work here does an awesome job!! I'm always greeted when I come in, and my nails always look good!! I go to Des and her work is flawless! I also love how they have dividers between each client due to COVID and wipe down the area and chairs after a client leaves. Took my mom for a pedi for her bday today. Previously, at other nail salons she has complained of them being too rough. We have also had less than stellar experience with toe nail clippings before, as well (waste of money) but this time was the charm! Tracy was so very sweet and gentle. She was patient with my mom and also did a wonderful job on her toes. What I appreciated the most about this salon was that they didnt overbook appointments! They kept the appt time and there were not any clients sitting there waiting around for long periods of time! This salon is one of the cleanest I've been too. However, with my schedule it's difficult to get an appointment in the time frame that's convenient in my world. On 2 separate occasions when the owner wasn't present, I wasn't able to get my brows & lip waxed. I made the appointment to get my mani,pedi, and brows & lips waxed every time I book. The 1st time she told me she didn't have time. I told her well make time , I made an appointment. (I'm not a cheap tipper either). Then the 2nd time again....she doesn't have time. & I've noticed the last few times .. she took short cuts with the Brow waxing. Just a wax instead of trimming and tweezing. If anyone doesn't have time it's me, who works 58 hours plus a week. Apparently after going there for just about a year and being a great tipper I'm not a favorite. And the last 2 times, not even a "thank you" for a generous tip. read more

Everyone was welcoming and professional. One huge plus for us was that it did not have that over powering smell that some shops have. This review is solely based on customer service. With that being said, I had an appointment at 11:30 on Friday, I wasn't able to make it as I ended up having a MANDATORY meeting at work about what the company is going to be doing about the Coronavirus. I tried canceling online but was told I had to call. I TRIED CALLING twice (2 hours before my appointment time) to cancel my appointment as I was no longer able to make it. NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONE both times and there was NO VOICE MAIL set up for the phone number. I tried everything I could to get a hold of someone, but because no answered the phone I ended up being put in as a no show. I made another appointment for Saturday morning, when I knew I would be able to make it. The lady who I assume is the owner? said something to me as I walked in on Saturday. I told her I tried to call and no one answered. The whole time I was getting my nails done, I was very uncomfortable as I saw her talking about me to her coworkers. I was just going to ignore it and not do anything about it......I was there for a fill which should take 40 min, I ended up sitting under the dryer for A HOUR! Then I walked up to pay and the same lady leaned over to her coworkers again (and said something) and they all stared at me as I was paying. I won't be back due to the unprofessionalism of the main lady at the salon. I won't support a small business that blames there customers for certain things. I did everything I could to get a hold of the salon to cancel my appointment. What was I to do? NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. Now I will be going to Bliss for any of my nail care needs. I want to first say that I have been going to this salon for the last 3 years and LOVE IT!! I love it because #1- They are by appointment, and I have been to many other salons who say that but inevitably someone walked in and took that spot and you have to wait! That never happens here and I rarely wait more than 5 minutes. It is extremely easy to book online and the owner, Des, will work to get you in same day, IF she has cancellations. #2- The women who work for the salon are some of the most professional and kind women I have met and I have NEVER had a complaint. Of course, as with any salon, everyone is more talkative once they get to know you. I get my nails done by both Des and Tracy and have beautiful nails every time and I always feel a little lighter when I leave because they have such fun while they do it! I have had pedicures by all the girls and they are amazing too!! Always a kind smile and a gentle touch! If you only go somewhere once I don't think you can truly get the full experience, and if you have an issue the second time then ask the owner but to give a bad review after one time, well too bad for you, cause you are missing out on a clean, professional salon and a great team of women!! I was able to call and get in same day which is a plus on a Friday. When I approached the door I was waved in and then asked about my appointment. I was then instructed to go wash hands and have a seat. I was impressed that they were only taking people on appointments and if you didn't have one they asked you to leave until time. The pedicure chairs were distanced apart and the tubs were wrapped in disposable plastic. They have some of the best massage chairs around. We were first appointment of the day and sink and floor was very dirty, almost walked out. Seriously. I was nervous. The COVID screens are very dirty!! We came in for a 5 person birthday/Mother's Day/good grades celebration with pedicures. The location is very nicely appointed, all new with comfortable chairs. The massage chairs are AMAZING. Full back, and bottom massage that's strong and relaxing. I got the specialty pedicure for $35 which included the express plus two add ons you could choose from paraffin wax, exfoliation or callous treatment. My technician gave a great massage and clean up and polish of my nails. They have a petite pedicure for kids under 9 for $20 and manicure for $12. They were able to accommodate our entire party and provide treatment simultaneously. They offered Chardonnay wine and Cabernet plus water or sodas. read more

I enjoyed my experience at Southern Belle. I had called on a Saturday afternoon hoping they could take me for a manicure and pedicure. Fortunately, they had availability at the time I called! The salon has a rustic, farmhouse vibe. The lady who did my nails was very pleasant and professional. She did a great job trimming and painting. My only complaint was the quick dry oil used afterwards. It's a bit messy. I've never used it on my nails before, so I didn't know what to expect. Best nail bar I've been to, in the south Charlotte/Fort Mill area! Worth the drive across the state line! The staff is really fun & friendly! There's a really fun & relaxing environment inside.
