Let me first clarify, this is the closest "campground" to downtown Dallas. Be very scared. I decided to give it a whirl and take it all in as an "experience". Plus, I wasn't the one who picked the place out and I didn't want to be rude. The sign out front says Lady Luck "Modern". I would say that this is anything but modern. It's by far the oldest RV park I've ever been to. I'm guessing it has about 100 spots, only about 5 were available for the daily stays, making it 95% of a trailer park. Like, chain link fence around the RV spots, "beware of the dog" postings, trailer park. Yep. I'm rating a trailer park a four. Why? Because it was super cheap for our two night stay, with full hook ups, and it is like 10 minutes to downtown Dallas. I didn't stay outside or use the amenities anyways and the only time I drove toward the middle of the property was at check in. I stayed two nights and I only seen two people outside while I was there. So, the residents keep to themselves. I would definitely not bring a kid here, not only because of the previous reviews, but because the "playground" looked to be from the 1970s. Actually come to think of it, the entire property was straight up out of the 1970s. I mean, I like vintage and all, but this was slightly risky. The dog park, that's a similar story to the playground. The owners must collect old signs and metal ornaments and decided to place them about the front. There really isn't a way to explain it properly, just look at the pictures. It's loud, especially for the daily rated spots upfront, those you can even see the trucks and traffic passing the freeway and on I35. We just turned the air conditioning up and tv on and rolled with it. If you can tolerate the sound and can keep an open mind, do it. When you go RVing, life's a trip. Make sure you clarify whether you have a 30 amp or a 50 amp. Otherwise, I think they automatically charge for a 50 amp. Cash and check only... told ya, 1970s.

Very difficult to talk to someone on the phone. They do text. When we arrived , the site we were given had someone in it I called and she really didn't care what site I went in. Long concrete pads with fairly large lot. Absolutely no shade. Approx 100 sites but only 5 had starter trees. No office or host available. There is a laundry room. No picnic tables. There is a small play area for kids. It seems anyone can show up for an overnight and no one would ever know. That made it feel a little unsafe. It reminded me of a trailer park for campers. Most campers there were workers or permanent It is right off the highway. $45/night. We were there one night in a motorhome. Will not return

They confirmed they would allow the open trailer for a one night stay! :) The kiddos enjoyed the pool, basketball court, and club house. All were in excellent condition. We had DoorDash to the club house and enjoyed dinner in the large space. :) The residents were super nice and welcoming!! We would definitely be back! Oh yea, showers were excellent!!!

Suzanne the host is ultra accommodating and friendly and she made our stay memorable for sure. I loved the long driveway off street location of the cottage. My wife and I made breakfast in the morning in the spacious updated kitchen and we especially loved the cold fridge. Plenty of amazing artwork everywhere which adds a nice flair. All in all, I'd recommend the place very highly and I will be returning this year too! Stay here!

February 8, 2025, Richardson's Lunar Festival was much better laid out this year. It was still very…read morecrowded with long lines at all of the food trucks and vendor booths, but it seemed like you could walk through the area with better ease, identify the ends of lines, and even see the performances on the elevated stage. The children's area was well closed off with a white picket fence making it safe for the kids to engage in activities without worry of wandering off. It appeared they had art like origami, and games. The city had a firetruck parked in the fence area so that kids could actively climb inside. The library also had its Rover Book Van in the fenced area. There were at least three rows of vendors for the adults. The most unique one I saw was a rowing station. You could try to row for the fastest time and win a t-shirt. It appeared to be recruitment for local dragon boat races. Some people came dressed up in cosplay and anime outfits. Others wore traditional attire or sported fans and parasols. It was 80 degrees, hot, and sunny. Very unusual for this time of year. The established restaurants in the area all had long waits for a table. We chose the Korean Tofu Factory for lunch this year. It was delicious, but we have to remember to come earlier next year so that we can actually see all of the vendors.
