The Schulman family theatre dba Film Alley has it going on. It looks like a vintage, older theatre from the outside but is quite the opposite once indoors. My husband and I were extremely impressed when we walked inside. It's buzzing with business as there's so much to enjoy in one place. You can bowl, play at the arcade, dine in at their bar or catch a film. Do note that if you're there to watch a movie they have an automated kiosk before you walk to the attendant where you can purchase & print your tickets. If you purchase your tickets online then you can scan your QR code or manually enter the confirmation code & it will print your tickets out for you. How cool is that? AMC Theatres could never ! We came to watch Tron: Ares which had our attention from the moment it started. Definitively one of the best films we've seen this year...might even be number 2 in our top five lineup (after Sinners of course). Film Alley also happens to be a dine in theatre, so we took advantage. Our server Macela M was sweet and efficient. I ordered their $11 Mexican Street Dawg meal that came w/fries & then got a root beer to drink and a kids popcorn as it's not a movie night without it. Everything was delicious. My only critique is the bun to meat ratio was way off. I understand wanting to elevate the dish and make it more filling, but I wound up having to discard half the bun as it was too much bread. My husband had a Cheeseburger meal with fries and an Icee to drink. No complaints from his end. Overall this was a great experience for us. We chose a night out bowing before the kids went back to school from their winter break. The process was smooth, the server was friendly, the kiosk even had a cool feature to add a photo (kids loved this). The night was enjoyable with the exception of the obnoxious family next to us constantly getting in our ways and the parents not tending to their kids. Tried to ignore that and focus on the time spent with the family. I do wish the lanes had a little more room and also the staff paid a little more attention to the guests and ensure they are following rules and proper etiquette. But let's be honest, these are usually younger kids and confrontation can be intimidating so I do not fault them. Lanes were clean, never had trouble with the pins, no technical issues, and the server kept our drinks filled and the food was more than decent. Will be back! read more

A spur of the moment date night favorite for my partner and I. We've seen quite a few movies here. For those that don't have children, weekday movies are perfect. In the summer there is a movie ticket special for $5 on Tuesdays. This day can be pretty hectic but it is a great day to take the kiddos out. Be aware that on the weekends this is the spot for the kids lol. Which makes sense because they can do a little shopping, catch a movie, grab a bite to eat and bowl all in one spot. Update!!!! Drove 45 minutes to see a movie just to have them tell us their payment machine was down so we couldn't watch it. Lots of parking and shopping near by! I came here for a staff outing. We had the private bowling area. We had a great time. The screens were easy to use and they had plenty of games to play other than your traditional bowling. I would definitely come back with family and/or friends to check out the other amenities. Have only been for the movies and movie birthday party and the handful of times we've been, we've enjoyed ourselves. Tickets can easily be purchased online and you can pick your seats. There's a kiosk where you check in. Very little employee interaction but that's fine. Food can easily be purchased in the theater and delivered right to your seat, the food price I think is reasonable considering you don't even need to leave your seat. And it's pretty decent tasting as well. The unlimited popcorn bowl is great, you can even ask for a bag to go which pretty much cool. All the seats recline and are super comfy. This is a really great place. Always clean. Good sound system. I haven't gotten around to bowling yet but I've spent a lot of time at the bar and grill. You've got to get the jalapenos. My favorite. I've celebrated my son's 7th & 8th birthday here by reserving a room & bowling lane for he & his friends. From reservations, to party, to cleanup, the experience each time was truly awesome & VERY affordable! Hence why we came back ;) I have also come here for date nights & enjoyed the atmosphere. The only thing I wasn't too fond of why the highly "xxx" rated music blasting all evening (kids) and content all over the TV (way too negative & mature for family & kid atmosphere) maybe stick to sports?! HEADS UP! Been going here for years. They are "trying a new policy". You can no longer get free tap water in a glass in the theater. They will give you a glass in the other parts of the place however. When asked why, I was told it's because they want to bolster water bottle sales. Now you have to pay for water with your dinner while watching the movie with no free refills. Not sure who came up with this idea Schulman Theaters but this isn't how you keep loyal customers much less attracting new ones! What restaurant doesn't provide free water? Bring your own ketchup. My family and I LOVE this theater. However, on several occasions the servers did not bring ketchup for meals that clearly call for it. Burger and fries? No ketchup. When I asked for ketchup, the server looked at me like I had three heads. On another occasion, I went to see Top Gun with my family and friends (8 people.). Six of us ordered chicken strips and fries baskets. No ketchup. No honey mustard. This is after having explicitly asked for ketchup and or mustard when we first ordered. It took the servers forever to finally bring us condiments. And yet, they still did not bring enough for everyone to have one. I pose this question. How is anyone supposed to eat chicken strips and fries without something to dip them in? Am I totally crazy for asking for ketchup or mustard to go with a strip basket? The servers need better training, or polices need to change. Otherwise, great theater. We will definitely be coming back...with our own ketchup. read more

Film Alley is an experience for sure! From their restaurant to their various arcade games and their many bowling lanes! Film alley is a must do whenever in the Terrell area (after Bucees of course)! You may visit for 10 mins to play their arcade games and win their grand prizes, or may find yourself there for hours watching a movie in their relaxing theaters! Their prices are what will bring Film Alley to 4/5 stars though, for certain things you may feel as if you are being upcharged! Well took the 4 kids out to go bowling. Foul line sensor was broken and giving us false fouls. The lane malfunctioned multiple other ways. I told management as it was by the hour. (probably cost us 20min of the hour) They did not add time when we had to wait 4-5 times for a fix. To make things worse the lady at the bar told the person giving us the lane that it was malfunctioning. They didnt listen. And we got the consenquences. I told management about the whole situation. She gave is a $5 off bowling for the next tome we want to waste our money. Very bad customer service. Very bad management of a bad situation. Would not bowl here again. Love the theater. It's nice and clean. Easy to buy tickets. We ate at the 5s Rock Bar and grill. Great oldies music and fun vibe. We ordered the Chips and salsa with queso. The salsa was REALLY good! I had the California chicken sandwich. The bread was fresh and homemade. The chicken was grilled to perfection. I highly recommend. My husband ordered the carnivore pizza. The pizza basically tastes just like a leftover Digiorno pizza. He only ate 2 slices. We wouldn't order that again. There was only one waitress and she was working hard. The kitchen was really slow to get our food out. Overall- we probably wouldn't eat here again but love the movie theater, bowling and arcade. read more

I usually really like this place but i guess it is not the place to go on Saturday's. I never have had a problem while going on a weekday or sundays but today I sat down, ordered my food, and the movie began. then the movie kept going, and going. eventually, halfway through I decided I should push the button to ask about my food. a lady came and said she'd go check on it. she never came back. the movie kept going. I push the button again after about 30 minutes. A really nice girl came out and i asked if there was an ETA on my food and she said she'd go check. she came back (thank god), and said they were pretty backed up but they were making it. then i see a worker come out and start handing out receipts. the movie was about to end, and no food. then the lady that never came back originally, was walking back to me and gave me my money (cash) back and said it was a refund. No apology except from the teenage girl I saw. I wish I knew her name, she was so polite and I'd give her a shoutout. Usually this place is very good about customer service, not very cash friendly but overall fine, but I don't think that applies to Saturdays. I will not go back to film alley again. I've given this movie theatre 5 TRIES to get it right & never once have they been able to get their service under control. The movie itself was fine & it's unfortunate cause they make great food. The first time we went out, I never got my desert & my food order was incorrect. Second time, we got the check BEFORE we got our food, it came out cold & they didn't get the order right. Third time our food came out wrong. Forth time they brought half our food us, charged us full price, then tried to bring us the food after the movie. The this last time, they didn't bring my husband his appetizer, messed up my meal, never brought us the refills we asked for, charged us for the full meal, then when we went to dispute the charge, they gave us a "discount" $30 on a $50 tab but STILL charged the $50 bill. It is beyond disappointing that nothing ever changes with establishment. I WANT to like this place but they've lost my trust. :( read more

Service has really gone done this year inside the theatre itself. Servers do not bring your check to you at the end of the movie consistently. They simply charge your card. Repeatedly have ordered drinks and not received them. Inquired from multiple servers and they simply passed the buck and did not bring it. Recently ordered two food items. I went to see the new Batman movie with my family and we were very excited to watch the film and eat at Film Alley. Unfortunately, the service was basically terrible. The servers never took our appetizer plates away from us...which were taking up the entire "tables". They also forgot to give us parts of our order, but made up for it by giving us things we didn't order. We sent the extras back and we're charged for quadruple those extras.
