So I went to my dental appointment today for cleaning which included gingival treatment which I was told last year that it was not included with insurance. However when I checked in with the front desk today I signed the treatment form which said that gingival treatment is 0 dollars. After I was done with my cleaning the front desk says that they made a mistake and now I have to pay them 240 dollars. They have done this a few years ago with my wife as well. I would like to say I was well pleased with the entire experience today!!! Today was my first visit and I received a root canal on a front tooth, and it was painless and I was very comfortable with Dr. Cupp. who ever needs a great dentist, this is it!- read more

They canceled appts on 2 occasions (at the last minute cause the provider or hygienist was ill), struggled to get my appt rescheduled in a reasonable time with a very unhelpful person who answered the phone, they spelled my sons name wrong even after asking they correct it, then Instead of inquiring about my having previous images as a recent transplant to the area - they take images without offering an estimate of cost on those images. I'm a patient- not an insurance navigator- and I feel questions regarding imaging or an offer of possible costs should have been given. I wouldn't go here because they don't really care about your time, and I feel a question about previous X-rays or dental services is pretty reasonable "because you may be responsible for costs if it was within 'x' amount of time." I would have declined the images or at least requested them from the dentist in the state I came from. I did like our hygienist, she was polite and professional, but overall- poor business practices, and an unexpected bill for a dental procedure is pretty frustrating. read more

I am on Medicare. They signed a contract with my dental insurance and excepted their rates, but now they want to balance bill me. I am in the process of getting Medicare involved. I have tried talking with billing dept., with no luck. They talking about collection agency. Medicare says I don't owe anything. read more

I've been going here for over ten years. The service has been good and complete. The services they offer are better than other dentist. The prices are competitive. I, in fact , drive across town to go here because the one very close to me charges way too much. I am a current customer and will remain. read more

The treatment team did not schedule the appointment with enough time so The basic appointment would turn into three appointments, scam 1. The original room broke halfway through the appointment. The filling was NOT replaced correctly because the dentist insisted I needed a root canal. I do not. she attempted to drill more of my tooth out than what was needed. SCAM 2. While I was checking out of the appointment 2 - again not enough time scheduled and a broken room, the lady couldn't wait to run out and eat her McDonald's so she wouldn't print me out my original treatment plan vs what I had completed that day- I asked three time and it was a nightmare. Just a scam clinic to get more money out of anyone opening those doors. Gross. Disgusting. Frustrating. Do. Not. Trust. Them. read more

Very disappointed! No integrity. I was scheduled for my very first visit to see the dentist on May 30, 2023 the doctor's office called on the day of the appointment and requested that I reschedule as the hygienist was unavailable. I was courteous to consider this request and the appointment was scheduled for July 27, 2023. The doctors office sent me the usual reminders via text message and I was prepared with a day off from work to go for the July 27th appointment. The doctors office sent a message today that I should call them to reschedule the appointment. The response was the same, hygienist unavailable!!!!!!! This is ridiculous and unethical. I don't think that the reviews given on this site are genuine considering the fact this happened to me. I'm not sure if anyone else faced this situation. Just putting my thoughts out to seek a better explanation instead of the routine 'I'm sorry, this happened to you, it is beyond our means' and to top it all the next available appointment is Oct 2023. No way would I wait to see this dentist in Oct with the apprehension of a reschedule request. Not going back to Southern Dental Savannah ever again. read more

ZERO INTEGRITY. We were planning on moving, the dental office knew this before they started treatment. They told us the dental work would be done before we moved..it wasn't. They charged us for a denture that WAS THE WRONG COLOR and was told we'll get it replaced "as a courtesy". He flew back to get the replacement denture, the DDS took a long weekend and no one informed us. So we had to fly back with no replacement and were out for the cost of a flight. They originally told us they'd pay for the flight, and the messed up denture (because we need it replaced and we'd have to pay for a new one in a different dental office). We've been making payments every month but we should get the cost of the messed up denture and the flight taken off our bill. They decided to change their minds today and told us that they wouldn't take any money off of our bill. ZERO INTEGRITY read more

Dr Cupp is a wonderful dentist! He's very nice, and is very easy going. His assistants Jaquita and Erin are great too! They make you feel comfortable so that you don't have to worry about anything. I've had my teeth cleaned by Robin and Danielle, and they are both amazing. Robin is hilarious and makes your appointments fun! Danielle is super sweet and is patient and kind. Been waiting on a $100.00 refund since early December. Accounting doesn't return calls. Refund is due to overcharge. Have cancelled appointments for my spouse and myself and will be looking for a new Dentist. This practice offers no customer service and no help for clients with accounting issues. read more

Tried to establish as a new patient. Made my appointment standing beside my supervisor, asked would this be good day/time to go. Called them for website, reconfirmed time. Yesterday they called me to confirm time, told to be early. Went in early today, informed by receptionist I was an hour late. Informed her not possible, showed her appointment time, confirmed time with my supervisor . Receptionist rolled her eyes & huffed, said I could come back @ 1 in afternoon. I had a filling to fall out and I came here to get it filled again. The assistant was excellent and the hygienist was ok, but Dr. Osborne was awful. I have had several fillings in my life and my mouth was never this sore afterwards. He was not gentle at all. The entire half of my face was numbed and the pain after the numbness wore off was almost unbearable and I had no pain medicine prescribed. I will not go back to that place again read more

I had a cleaning here in Feb. 2020. I gave my NEW insurance card to the person who checked me in, she took it, scanned it, & returned it to me. They billed my OLD insurance company instead, which didn't pay (obviously). So they began billing me for the $63. I phoned Southern Dental with my NEW insurance info and thought that would get this claim paid. Wrong. They continued to bill the wrong insurance company, after speaking with the billing dept. many times over the last year, & giving them the correct information, I still cannot get the billing person to understand that she is billing the wrong company. I've even been on a 3-way call with my old insurance company and the person who does the billing - the insurance company even gave the billing person her personal fax # - and she STILL cannot seem to record the correct insurance info and file a claim with the right company. Today I get a collection notice from a collection company for the $63 plus interest. I paid it. I care about my excellent credit. Dr. Cupp, if you are reading this, I ask you to consider: if your billing person can't submit a correct claim on $63 - how is she submitting ones for $6,300? How much money is this idiot costing you? read more

They are as crooked as crooked gets....I was being auto-debited out of my checking account per a financial agreement and they turned me straight over to collections even though they were getting payments from me (apparently just not fast enough)! I had no problems with the direct patient care, it was the scheduling and financial office staff that were absolutely horrific! I am surprised that their doors are still open due to the attitudes and customer service I received! read more

Went for the $59.00 cleaning special. The woman was telling me I needed a second cleaning before she even looked in my mouth. Of course the second cleaning was over $200.00. I have a bad tooth that another dentist already told me could be filled for about $150.00. Southern Dental price? A "build up" for $400.00. PLUS the cap that I can't live without is an additional $1400.00. Total of $1800.00 for one tooth. WOW. I'll not be returning. read more

I was an established patient of this dental group. Recently, I broke two of my front teeth. After checking with my insurance I found that I could finally have them repaired. All I wanted was a temporary fix until I could get them repaired. I called Southern Dental Center. I explained what my issue was and wanted to come in that day. I get off at four thirty and their office close at five. I set up the appointment and arranged for a ride to their office. In the car, I called the office and let them know that I was on the way. I had spoken to the office several times and was not told that I "might" not be seen that day due to the hour. If I had known I wouldn't be seen, I wouldn't have wasted my time and money trying to secure transportation to the office. I was almost to the office when my phone rang. It was the office telling me that I would not be seen due to the time. I asked the Lyft driver to take me home. I called the office back and told them that I would not be returning to their office. I felt that I should have been accommodated. I hung up. The office called me back twice. The first call back was to ask about coming in to pick-up paperwork to update my file. I told the receptionist that I was looking for another dentist so I didn't need to update anything. I hung up. My phone rang again. This time the receptionist had the nerve to "talk down to me" by stating that "our office closes as five. " She also demanded that I reschedule- again I told her that I would not be returning to their office. Her attitude was like "ok, I don't care if you go. I hung up again. Again my phone rang. Again I was asked to reschedule. Again I said "I am not going to reschedule. I am going to find another dentist who actually cares about their patients. Do not call me again." I really feel the three phone calls I received was to "gloat" or just taunt me with the fact that my teeth were broken and won't get fixed by them. My Lyft driver was disgusted with the way I was being treated. He was a patient of them as well. So they lost two customers instead of one. He told me that he would not return as well, stating that if they could treat me that badly, they would treat him the same way. read more

HORRIBLE!! WISH I COULD TAKE LEGAL ACTION! I started going to them for my normal check ups about 2 years ago, and it had seemed fine. However, last year I was convinced to get Invisalign to help straighten my teeth out. My teeth haven't ever been that bad, and I told them I didn't think I'd do it, but how much was it? The Dr who deals with Invisalign there asked me who my provider was and after I told him, he said "that's perfect, I work with them all the time. I'll check for you, but they cover quite a bit." After he "checked", he came back and told me that my insurance would cover $3000 of my bill, so that I would only end up owing $1500 for the entire treatment. I ASKED HIM AND TWO other office girls to tell me FOR SURE what my bill would be. I emphasized that I would not do the Invisaligns unless they knew 100% what my cost would be, because $1500 was worth it, but paying anything more wasn't worth it to me. All three of them told me that they checked and not to worry. Well, it has now been over 6 months, and the last appt I had, I come up to the front desk to check out, and the girl says very nonchalantly, "By the way, you owe an additional $2000.00 on your account." I was in shock and just said, "Uh, what do you mean?" She gave me a paper that now says that I owe an additional $2000.00!!! I told her that I was extremely upset and what was I supposed to do because I should not be charged for this. She just gave me the number to call the manager and said to contact her about the issue. I went home and just started crying. Mostly angry because I had the sinking feeling that there would be nothing I could do. I called the manager and couldn't stop crying over the phone to her, very upset and told her that I had verified the price with THREE different people when I first paid the $1500.00, and why was I not told that it would be more, etc etc. She said she understood my concern and needed to look over my info. and would call me back on Monday. Well, it is now Saturday and she never called me, just sent me a bill saying that I owe $2000.00. So, I will not be going back to them, and I say be VERY careful if you go to them and get EVERYTHING IN WRITING so that there is something to go on. This is the worst experience I've ever had, I LOATHE them and their office, I wish I could change my Invisalign Dentist, and will do whatever I can to dissuade people from going to them in the future. read more
