Where to begin? First, their communication is terrible because you'll talk to someone and the next…read morecall or text goes to someone else. I called and setup a time - I called back and the guy said I didn't have a move scheduled (got a text confirming I didn't have anything scheduled). Then people showed up at my house (I wasn't ready). The company blamed me even after I showed them the text and the call where the guy said I didn't have an appt. Move time comes - the guys are aloof and unhelpful. They didn't ask if I was okay leaving the doors open (they propped them up immediately). So then I had to find my cat. They used the front and back (while they were only two people) and messed up the door frame to the back - with nails sticking out that could've easily poked my kids (I'll come back to this). That's bad enough but professionals would have at least mentioned what they did (not try to avoid it). Professionals would say, "We screwed up - how can we help". I know this because I hired professionals after this company failed so miserably and they did something considerably minor and immediately were like, "We're sorry - that was our mistake." And that was it - taking simple accountability was all that was needed and I could not have cared less (although as professionals, they didn't screw up nearly as badly as College Movers). Back to College "Movers". They damaged furniture. They poorly packed and took very little of what I asked them to take and then they stopped before the time agreed upon and had the unmitigated gall to ask me if I would be tipping them. When the crew that came after these guys saw how they literally had thrown my things in a 10x20 storage unit and taken up a ton of space with not that much - they laughed (because these guys are laughably pathetic). Even sadder? I'm in no way a professional; the movers told me they had no way to understand how to take apart a bunk bed. I did it in the 20 minutes after they left (by myself). They are, simply, lazy. And that's fine - be lazy (but don't be movers). The worst part is that for each issue raised, their company took absolutely no responsibility. Texts indicating I had no appt? I must've confused their system (and ignore the fact that I could name who I talked to, when I called and for how long). Pictures showing the damage they did (but had not happened in the 4 years I previously lived in the home or from the movers I hired AFTER them because they were so bad) - must've been poor craftsmanship of the house, furniture, or magic. At no point was someone able to say, "You know, we could've done better." It has been (repeatedly), "Well, actually ..." If you want college movers in the vein of frat guys who are bad at their job, uninterested in professionalism, and adding to the litany of why moving sucks - these are completely your people. If you'd like a good company, go with "Moving You Forward" out of Terre Haute or "A Better Way" or literally any two people off the street.

Soft Touch Review We…read morehired Soft Touch Moving in June 2025 to pack, move, and store our belongings in their "climate-controlled" facility for four months while our new home was being built. About 4 hours into the re-delivery of our belongings by their crew, we discovered that much of our furniture and personal property which had already brought into our new home appeared to be covered in mold. The contamination affected our brand-new home and required professional remediation. As a result, we were displaced and forced to live in a hotel for 50 nights while the issue was addressed. The owner, John Craft, acknowledged to us that our belongings had gotten wet and remained on their moving trucks for a period of time during the hot and humid month of June. Despite assurances from the company's insurance carrier, we have received very little communication or resolution. More than seven months later, we still do not have our belongings and have had to retain legal counsel to pursue claims against both Soft Touch Moving and the insurance company. This experience has been incredibly disruptive to our lives. Based on our experience, we would strongly caution others before trusting this company with their belongings.

Kept things from breaking, but also added hours onto the job and don't really seam necessary for quite a few objects. Overall, there were no major breakages and our stuff got moved. We expected a professional crew who would take care of our items and pack them with precision and thoughtful placement. On the day, the crew showed up and worked very fast. They were working in multiple rooms at once and then loading the trailer. It took them the whole day to get it all done. They were very nice young men and we thought they did a good job... in the moment. Once the trailer arrived a week and a half later - we found out what really happened. We only have enough hanging clothes to fill 2 wardrobe boxes, yet we ended up with 15 of them... thats because their version of "packing" was just dumping everything into these big wardrobe boxes, no organization, no precision, just dumping everything. Of course we were paying for each box they used, and wouldn't you know it... the wardrobe boxes were the most expensive. Additionally, several of our furniture pieces are damaged including brand new chairs, both our new washer and dryer (they put a metal bed frame against them in the trailer that rubbed on it the entire time in transit) broken lamps, broken legs off tables, missing items, etc. I took photos of everything and sent them an email about it - I got a response that they would fix and/or replace the damaged and broken items. I then get another email a few days later that they were going to open an "internal investigation" and something about how they aren't responsible because their liability ends once they leave the job site. My items have been locked in a trailer of which I have the only key and somehow its not their fault, or they didn't cause the damage. I have emailed them at least 4 more times since then asking about the results of the "internal investigation", etc. and they have not responded. They will not respond back to me. We hired them based on reviews that they were the BEST in INDY!!! That is a absolute lie. I cannot speak to their small 1 bedroom across town moves - but DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR LARGE HOUSE PACKING AND LOADING! And to the Move Indy Rep who will undoubtedly respond to this review with some BS about "Thanks for the feedback..." - don't bother. You are only responding because I am calling you out publicly - shame on you! Do what you said you were going to do and repair/replace my broken items.

HORRIBLE, NEVER PICK THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE. I wish I could give negative stars, but Yelp…read moreforces me to give 1. My parents used this company for their move from Columbus. They were to get a 24 ft truck and instead, 2 16 ft trucks arrived. The movers reassured them that the items they packed would be sure to fit in a 24 ft truck. Alas, AFTER the trucks arrived in Indy, my dad got a call that their items would not all fit and asked him what things they could remove to donate. My dad had to then decide on a few things and agreed to get rid of a bookshelf, 2 chairs, and a long ladder, that he was hoping to keep, but had no choice since the truck was already in Indy. They also forced him to pay an additional $900 to keep other times that weren't going to fit, but he didn't want to give away. If he had wanted to keep all of his items, then he would have had to pay an additional $1500. If they had originally showed up in Columbus with the correct sized truck, all of this could have been avoided. The move story gets worse. When their items arrived at their new home a few weeks later, over $3000 worth of items were missing that they never consented to them throwing out, including two coffee tables, a queen bed, 4 chairs, and other boxes of items. Some items have been in the family for many decades and we will never get them back. My dad has sent multiple emails but still hasn't heard back. Very disappointing and made an emotional move even more heartbreaking. Edited to respond to your comment: Of course you don't have an account with my name, my parents used your company. My dad's initials are QJ and he emailed already. He finally got a response today that offered him a Goodwill receipt and that's it. Horrible.
