I love that this farm is still thriving amidst all the development going around it. There is plenty of parking and lots to do. They offer several types of u-pick fruits, veggies and sunflowers at different times of the year. They have a fun zone area and food trucks. The only thing I don't see on this farm are animals. I love that they allow the 5K races at least once a year. With those races, you usually get blueberry pancakes and a pint container to pick your own blueberries from at least 6 fields. There were 2 available to pick from when we were there. Plump and sweet blueberries are to be had if you know how to pick them. Don't let the bees scare you off. Leave them alone and you will be fine, unless someone in the next aisle pissed them off. They have peaches, sunflowers and strawberries to pick as well. I noticed the map also shows veggies but not sure when or which kind are available but nice to know. I love the observation deck above the gift shop. Amazing views of the farm and surrounding land with plenty of seating to take it all in while you enjoy a cup of coffee from the gift shop. A lot has changed in a year since being at the farm. I am glad they are doing well. They have expanded in their agriculture and event space. They even added a walk way pavement around the carnival rides. Sadly the service we received at the birthday party we attended. They didn't provide us any utensils for food. If you're looking for the perfect family outing, this big local farm is hands-down one of our favorite places to go. We usually come for their blueberry and strawberry picking, but this time we went specifically for the sunflowers and zinnias--and it was absolutely gorgeous. Endless rows of bright blooms, beautiful photo spots, and plenty of room to wander and cut your own bouquet. What really makes this farm stand out is how much they have for the kids. Their carnival-style attraction area is huge, with rides and activities for all ages--from tiny toddlers around 2 to energetic teens up to 15. It's basically a mini theme park inside a farm, so the kids stay entertained for hours while we enjoy the scenery. Food-wise, they've got a great mix of food trucks, local vendors, and their own simple snacks and meals. But the absolute must-tries? Their fresh donuts and the frozen lemonade. The donuts come out warm and soft, and the lemonade is the most refreshing thing you can get on a hot Florida afternoon. It's a local farm where you can pick variety of veggies/fruit, such as: blueberries, strawberries, peaches, zucchini, corn, onions, jalapeño, eggplant, cucumber and others! There is also a flower field where you can pick beautiful sunflowers & other wildflower variety. There is plenty of shaded area to take a break and enjoy pizza, street tacos, smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, kettle corn, and refreshing drinks. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the farm! We visited for the first time for strawberry season. Strawberries are $5 per pound if you pick them yourself. You can also buy them pre picked and they are a few dollars more per pound. They had numerous food carts/trucks to eat at. We ate at the bakery and tried the apple cider donut. It was amazing! I could eat six in one sitting they were so delicious. The coffee was okay. Nothing too crazy or special. I had the cinnamon roll but it just tasted like a normal latte. Experience: Saw someone on FB talk about how fun this place was, so I looked up the farm and bought tickets. We decided to go on a weekday to void crazy crowds. Facility: This place is adorable. So many places are perfect for photos so that made my teens happy. The areas to explore are a pumpkin patch, orchard, flower gardens, corn maize, food area, rides and petting zoo. We loved all of it. Service: Everyone who worked here was nice, friendly and helpful. We got food, bought pumpkins, food for the petting zoo and got on the rides... all of the workers were great!! I absolutely love Southern Hill Farms! I've been here for blueberry and peach picking in the past, but the sunflower field is why I keep coming back. This time we were here during the fall festival is my favorite. This place truly makes my heart smile. This time here they've updated the bathrooms and added new beautiful gray barns, which was such a great improvement and made the visit even more comfortable The festival has so much to enjoy . There is a corn maze, train ride, tractor ride, s'mores, a few carnival rides, and plenty of photo opportunities. The food is mild, but the frozen lemonade is delicious and refreshing. What really made my visit extra special this time was meeting a gentleman who's worked there for over 20 years. He gave us a ride around in a golf cart, shared stories, and made great conversation. My first time visiting this farm and I had alot of fun, despite the rainy weather! They had an area of rides for kids to play, and they had a bunch of food and drink options; my favorite was their apple crisp and the glazed apple cider donuts. First time to Southern Hills Farm. We went to pick the strawberries before the freeze tonight. What an amazing experience. There were rows and rows of beautiful, huge strawberries ready to be picked. We picked four pounds! So juicy and sweet. They also had a huge field of beautiful sunflowers ready to be cut and lots of rows of fresh vegetables. The covered area had several food options such as chicken, pizza, smash burgers, candied nuts and cocktails. Lots of picnic tables, live music and fire pits to warm up. The Fall Festival was absolutely amazing this year! It's become one of my favorite annual traditions. We had such a great time picking sunflowers and browsing the fall shop -- the pickled items were so good! This year we noticed they had an all you could grab bucket for flowers which was cool if you want more than just a few. We also grabbed some delicious BBQ from a food truck -- the brisket sandwich and mac & cheese were both decisions. I enjoyed a frozen hard apple cider while my boyfriend had an Oktoberfest beer (you have to get the cute koozie with it!). This festival is perfect for families or as a fun date idea. This place was absolutely the best! We went for Halloween to pick out pumpkins and ended up getting so much more than just pumpkins. There were food trucks, artisan markets, and even beautiful flower fields to explore. It's also incredibly kid-friendly, with tons of activities to keep the little ones entertained, from games and rides to play areas and photo spots. We spent the afternoon sipping amazing frozen drinks, listening to live music, and picking the perfect pumpkins for the season. Can get busy for ticketed weekend events at the front entrance--must purchase ahead of time. Some seasons, entrance is free. The permanent food stalls under the covered patio offer a wide range of food and drink offerings. I love anytime they have a seasonal fruit beverage like frozen blueberry or strawberry lemonade, or getting cider donuts. One sunny Saturday, my friends and I went to Southern Hill Farms. After hearing about the upcoming blueberry season, we decided to take a trip out there. I was BLOWN AWAY! I'm a Florida native and mostly a city girl, but I had THE most fun running around the fields at the farm. My group and I started with strawberries - their season runs through the winter months, so March/April tends to be their last harvest. Despite it being end of season, there were so many delicious strawberries to find. We all filled up our bins, excitedly sharing all of our recipes and plans for our haul. We went to the flower and veggie fields next. Those are near each other and are some of the smaller areas of the farm. We took a look at the beautiful sunflowers and stopped for some pictures. They even had a cute couch for staged photos! We also got some very large, very impressive onions and broccolini before the summer heat set in. Lastly, we ran over to the blueberry fields - YUM! Blueberry season just started but there were berries EVERYWHERE! The farm has a map that provides a guide that shows which species of blueberry is grown in that field. Really helpful if you like a specific flavor of berry! Needless to say our buckets were full! Along with all the fruits and veggies, this "farm" has so much to offer. I was not expecting the event venue, shops, beverage carts, food court area, and carnival rides! There is so much to do at the farm other than pick produce. If being in the sun and dirt is not your thing, you can sit and enjoy the live band and some fresh blueberry donuts. If you come with kids, there is an endless supply of amusement for the whole family. This was my first time at Southern Hill Farms but certainly not my last. Had a great day at southern hill farms! The price of admission is pretty high, especially if you don't have kids and can't take advantage of all of the kid's rides and games. But the sunflower field was beautiful, and the fresh apple cider donuts are insanely good, although it was about a 25 minute wait to get them. The food was just okay - we got burgers and a buffalo chicken quesadilla and they weren't much to write home about, especially for the price. The frozen apple cider was pretty solid though! This is one of my favorite spots in Orlando (well Clermont). Absolutely worth the drive! We've had so much fun the many different times we've gone. I listed some pictures from this past October of the pumpkin patch as well as when we went strawberry picking. We've also picked sunflowers on a few different occasions. Theres so much to do here for a date or for the family. While I don't have pictures of it, there is an entire carnival area for the kids to ride so many fun themed rides. We've also seen a petting zoo, where you can buy food and feed the animals, one of the times we went. The pizza is from one of the food trucks they have in their dining pavilion. Definitely check out all of their delicious options, but it's an absolute must and tradition that you try the strawberry shortcake! And maybe their apple cider donuts. The property is huge so definitely make plans to spend the day if you can. There's many spots to take pictures perfect for an engagement, paternity shoot, or even graduation pictures. They also host events and I believe you can reserve them for weddings as well! They also have a gift shop with clothes, soaps, and pantry items like honey, jams/jellies, or preserves. I've picked up a few things from there as gifts for the family! The blueberries and peaches season in March is so fun! There's four varieties of blueberries you can pick at great prices, white and yellow peaches off the tree, and even blackberries and veggies to boot. They do a great job streamlining the process and there's shaded areas to sit and get refreshments at too. There are even carnival rides available for additional cost. This place has grown so much over the years it's become a veritable tourist attraction in its own right. If you've gone in the past but haven't been recently you'll find they've changed a lot. They're now well equipped to handle large weekend crowds and have transitioned to a cashless payment system. They even paved some of the walkways and have a shuttle from the center area to the actual fields. All the service counters and food vendors are well-manned and are very efficient. There was a ton of people but it never felt too crowded nor did I have to wait too long for anything. They have so many offerings with each season, from strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and pumpkins to vegetables like onions, spinach, and kale; as well as flowers like zinnias and sunflowers. And that doesn't even include their food hall and market! I love their strawberry donuts and soft serve ice cream. Their strawberry shortcake is also a big hit. I had their smash burger recently and that was also delicious! The market sells goods like honey, picked vegetables, etc which you can sample before purchasing. You can easily check what's in season on their website and socials and see what special events they might have. In the fall they hold a festival with hay rides and corn mazes. The fall festival does have an admission fee while other seasons do not. They often have music performers that really liven up the place. There's even some small carnival rides, like a carousel, for kids. Although there is an additional fee for those. And they recently built a new event space for weddings and other parties. On our recent visit there was an entrance fee for the sunflower fields, which makes sense since many people really just want the photo op. They have a dedicated area in the sunflower field for photos so it does look nice. Each time I've been to Southern Hills I've had such an amazing experience. All the staff are very nice and eager to help. The produce we pick are also of great quality. There's so much to do here you can't not have fun. Aimless on a perfect-weathered day, I went to Facebook to see what events were happening locally that might pique my interest. The Southern Hill U-Pick Strawberries event came up and I decided that would be my activity. Parking was free and it didn't take long before I found a spot that wasn't too far from the entrance (but truly I knew I was going to be hoofing around quite a bit so distance to the entrance was really a non-starter). Heads up this is a cashless facility, in case you prefer to only deal with presidential flash cards. First things first - find a drink! Which was an easy choice to make as I went with their strawberry blonde beer and even paid the extra $3 for a koozie to keep the brew chilled while I picked berries. I had lunch plans so didn't try the food but the options looked great (especially the tacos and the mini donuts). This place really is great for all types of visitors and I noticed a such a variety of people enjoying the space - locals who clearly make this a tradition, tourists experiencing the central FL area, couples on sweet day dates. Almost everyone had at least a sunflower or stray of berries in arm as they walk around smiling ear to ear. Anyhow, I really enjoyed stacking my flat with some beautiful strawberries and also snagged a few gargantuan onions and a perfect head of bib lettuce. There were plenty of blueberries when we went 3 weeks ago. Not many pickers there first thing in the morning. Rows were well maintained. Berries were not real sweet. I left one of the bags of berries on my counter and let them ripen more. Then they became sweeter each day. Since they were freshly picked, they lasted a week just out on the counter. This place has a special place in my heart. We go strawberry picking every year and always pick too much, which I'm not complaining because it's my favorite fruit. I've also done sunflower picking and onion picking but they have way more all year long, including blueberries, peaches, and pumpkins. We went here for their strawberry picking season but we've been going to this farms for years either for strawberry picking or blueberry picking. Every year the place is getting better and better. They have several food trucks and they offer different food and drink choices. But of course our favorite are the strawberry shortcake and the donuts. The weather was beautiful when we went. We love to pick our strawberries. We were a bit disappointed though as the strawberries weren't as sweet and tasty as we had hoped. They have a little play area with some rides-kind of expensive to be honest so we skipped that. The food was waaaay over priced. I got a burger on a lettuce bun. It was supposed to come with bacon but there was none on it. It only comes with 2 toppings but since I wasn't getting a bun I assumed that lettuce wouldn't count as a topping but I was charged $1 extra for it. I payed $18. One of our favorite places to visit! We've been going here for almost ten years, since all that had was a few months of blueberry picking and it wasn't ever crowded. Now they do a strawberry season, a blueberry season, and a fall festival, as well as date nights & movie nights. The strawberry picking season is where it's at - we go a bunch of times in January and February and get sooo many strawberries for cheap. They are huge and completely delicious. It's also not as hot that time of year & since it's a lot of walking, that's an added bonus. Plus they don't charge for parking! We've done the fall festival a few times and we think it's not as worth it. It ends up being really expensive with the cost of parking and the cost of doing literally anything. We love Southern Hill Farms. We've come during different seasons and every experience is amazing. More recently we came to pick strawberries. It's free to enter the Farm and Park. You simply pay for whatever you pick, food, drinks and the fun zone if you wish to do them. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful with everything from produce checkout, fruit selection or even sunflower picking. I love how the strawberry fields are split up by tartness or sweetness. We also recently came for a dog only event at the farm and it was incredible. For one price they gave us a dog bandana, homemade dog bone and sunflower. They had the sunflower area open for photos and picking with your dog. I loved the tractors and sunset. Most recently we came here for blueberry picking. They also split these rows up my flavor with flag indications. You can pick your own blueberries or they have some prepackaged for sale. There is so much to do at SHF. The food/ and drinks are amazing with many options. The donut shop selection will vary based on seasonal fruit which makes trying dessert each time exciting. They also sale alcohol with items such as blueberry wine slush and as a wide variety of craft beer and cider. Lastly there is plenty to do for kids. Make sure to follow their open hours for the fun zone but we finally got to enjoy it with our kids and it was so much fun. For one set price they let you ride everything as many times as you want. Came here for a work event so there was more than 20 of us adults. The place is spacious, lots of seating area and free parking. The activities are definitely meant for kids. The corn maze was unavailable because the hurricane had wiped it out. The "petting zoo" could be bigger as there was a lot of animals but not enough space for them to roam. We were in Orlando for a 10k race and after the race we wanted to do something fun. We found out about Southern Hills from another friend that had previously gone. There is so much to do there that you really do need at least 4 hours to enjoy it all. It was a great time. We were able to pick strawberries. The field there is huge so you have plenty to pick from. There is also a Sunflower farm where you pay $6 and it includes one sunflower. All other sunflowers after that you will have to pay. I saw that was also an area where you can pick vegetables, but we didn't stop by there. They also having a blueberry picking area that is open during season. They have an whole area with rides for the kids. That looked like fun. There is also a smores area where you sit and just relax while making the smores. Of course they have a are with food and small shopping area. Now lets get into the food. Well the dessert was what I had. I did see that they sell pizza too and liquor. But I got the strawberry donuts that were just delicious. I bought a dozen just to take him to my family. Make sure to buy the lemonade it's also really good. Wow! I went to my 45th High School Reunion here and I had no idea what to expect. I arrived a bit early just to check the place out and holy cow! What an incredible place! It is HUGE and they have so many things to do- this place is definitely a destination. It has such a great family feel! I walked the grounds, impressed with the sheer size and the amount of crops being grown. There were also so many things to see and do, they had a carnival with a Merr-y-Go-Round and other rides. I'm always looking for fun things to do when I have company staying with me, so I decided blueberry picking at the farm would be a fun day activity - and that it was! My mom and I arrived on Saturday right when the farm opened at 10 am. Parking was easy. We rented a wagon for $8 so we didn't have to carry everything and got our buckets to start blueberry picking right away. The blueberry bushes were filled with ready to pick blueberries, and it was quite fun. It took me about 1.5 hours of picking to fill my bucket to the top which was about 6 pounds of blueberries! Next, we enjoyed frozen blueberry lemonades in the southern hill farms souvenir Mason jar cups and devoured some blueberry donuts and blueberry muffins. The muffins were my favorite, and we got a half dozen to-go! We ordered burgers for lunch which were a decent size and delicious. While we ate, we listened to some great live music. Great farm to visit with your family. My family has made it an annual tradition to come here for the fall festival. There's a pumpkin patch, playground, tractor and train ride, sunflower field, petting zoo, live music, several food trucks and vendors and rides for the kids. It's a great time! The one thing I would say is if you're going with older people or toddlers/kids you have to carry...walking to the sunflower field is a far walk and kind of strenuous if you have to pull a wagon or stroller through the dirt road to get there. If you are looking for a fun family fall day, this is your spot! The farm is HUGE with so many activities for all ages, opportunity to get plenty of fall pictures/memories with loved ones. I particularly enjoyed their pumpkin patch, corn maze and food court but there are so many more fun activities for kids and just about every age group Tip: wear comfy clothes to walk around.
