We love to support a local mom and pop shop and why we decided to watch a family movie on a Sunday matinee. It was very easy to make reservations online and then redeem via QR code. Food offerings for your staples like popcorn soda and candy were great and affordable. It looked like they also had hot food like burger hot dogs and a good selection of bottled adult beverages. Theatre seats are your typical fold down seats and they keep everything clean. Only complaint was that the sound was a bit loud, but not in the best rich surround sound loud. The staff are all young highschool/college aged kids. Overall, if you want a standard and clean movie theater without the whole luxury couch and food options you see at more expensive theatres, this is a good option. read more

I am OBSESSED with this place! How was I so lucky to have the cutest, old school, locally owned movie theater down the street from my house!!! When our friends first introduced us to this place, we didn't necessarily know what to expect because they said "old seats." Old seats? What does that even mean? I'm thinking thrift store folding chairs. Heck no! We walked into this cute mom and pop movie theater and walked up to the young girl working the counter. The ticket prices almost floored me! WHAT! It was super inexpensive compared to the big box theaters. Already a win there. We went in and ordered some actual food. I love movie nachos and cheese and a good coke. My husband ordered a burger and a beer. The price was like $25 for all the food we ordered! & the food was perfect for a movie. We entered into the theater and there they were. The "old seats." NO! It was just a regular movie theater! Not the fancy theaters they are producing now. It was perfect. My husband and I have been back like 3-4x since and look forward to going even more! On top of that, they play the newer movies, too! So you're getting a great deal, supporting local, and having a cool experience! Highly recommend. read more

This is one of those times when I want to give low stars so a hidden treasure stays hidden Then again, I want them to stay in business. My new favorite theater!! My grand nieces wanted to goof off in Winter Garden and also go see Barbie. I have never been to this theater (it's not the closest to me). I had trouble with ordering tickets on the website and called for help. Someone called me back!! Thank you. We arrived 20 minutes early (to get food), went to the front because we had our tickets, got some surprisingly good food, and enjoyed the movie. I went to buy my movie tickets 2 hours earlier because I wanted to make sure I would get tickets for "The Accountant 2" movie. I told the sales attendant the name of the movie I wanted and at asked for the time it would start? I placed the tickets in my wallet and left to eat at a nearby restaurant. I returned to the theater 40 minutes early and entered the theater number it said in the ticket and sat on the assigned seats. I realized that the name of the movie was incorrect on my tickets and went to the sales attendant. She changed them but did not tell me that the movie was at a different theater and at an earlier time.. I went back to the theater I was earlier and sat down awaiting for the movie to start. 3 min before the movie was about to start a couple came to claim their seats. I was confused and embarrassed and rechecked the tickets.The movie had already started 10 minutes ago and was in another theater room. I told the manager but her response was "I assumed you knew, do you want your money back and you leave the theater? We are not regular movie goers and are Seniors needing a little more direction and more information . The ticket collector did not direct us to the correct theater either. The last time we went to the movies when we handed our tickets, we were told the name of the movie and the number of the theater, and there was an attendant to help you find your seat. This was not a good experience and made me realize how times are changing for the worst, and that people are not kind to Seniors. I will continue to to watch my movies at home read more

Food, beer, wine and great parking make this neighborhood theater a great place to see current movies. When I was a single mom, I'd bring my son here on a Saturday night for dinner and a movie for under $20! For us, hot dogs, popcorn, soda and a movie were a real treat on tight budget but West Orange prices and the family atmosphere have always been the biggest draw! The Tables theater was renovated several years ago with stadium seating added to the back section which was a huge improvement over the one level seating throughout. This table theater is the largest of six and still has large chairs with small "coffee" tables down in front of the screen for those who like to have their food on the table while enjoying the feature film. Some of their other theaters only seat about 50 folks for less popular films. During the summer, West Orange has special daytime showings/promos/prices for children. The matinee pricing is less than evening so if you go to a 4pm show, it can be a little crowded on weekends. BEERS-Shock Top! Mich Ultra, Amber bock and Bud Light AND locally brewed Crooked Can IPA High Stepper all good prices!! FOOD- If you can't find something your kid likes here, then we have a serious problem! Fruit & Cheese platter has always been my favorite thing to order because they have cheese cubes, crackers, fresh apple wedges and grapes all served with fancy toothpicks I've also been a huge fan of their hotdogs, but some may not appreciate that they are over boiled! They have pizza, hamburgers and sandwiches as well as popcorn and nachos, chicken nuggets, and fries. CANDY Other beverages include assorted Pepsi products, coffee beverages, waters, slushies, teas and bottled sports drinks. West Orange is locally owned and operated and a sweet deal- you will see neighbors and friends in line and in the commercials for local businesses on the screens before the coming attractions previews. What a great family theater! West Orange 5 is a small Winter Garden theater that is locally owned and run. They do a wonderful job of providing snacks in their small establishment. I really love how clean and organized their place is. It's so convenient especially with kids. Their ticketing and prices are super affordable for families, making it an easy choice. Though they only show a limited number of movies at a time, it comes with the convenience and love of a family business. read more

I literally never go to the movies anymore unless there's a movie I ~really~ want to see. Today I broke my movie dry spell to see Jurassic World 2, which was also my first time at West Orange 5. Pros: You can't beat the prices. I can't remember the last time I paid $6.00 to go to a movie (matinee). Regularly priced tickets are $8.00 which is still hella cheap in today's market. Concessions and alcohol are also extremely reasonable which is unheard of these days!! Cons: Seating. They have your typical theater seating in the back, but the first 15 rows are literally rolling office chairs. That was definitely a first for me. They were comfortable enough but some were really squeaky. Unfortunately for me, the person in front of me couldn't sit still for more than 2 minutes at a time so I was left to listen to the chair squeaks throughout the entire movie which was pretty distracting. I've also never experienced so many "movie talkers" in a movie. We're taking full blown conversations at a regular volume mid movie. I guess the phrase "you get what you pay for" is very fitting in this situation. If another movie came out that I kind of wanted to see, I'd probably go back to this theater, but if I was looking for a full cinematic experience I'd go elsewhere. read more

West Orange 5 is a perfect neighborhood movie theater. It doesn't have anything flashy--no IMAX screens, or reclining seats, or those wild seats that move in sync with the movie action. But it does have the standard concessions, really cheap alcohol, and most importantly--really cheap tickets. I visited last weekend and happily paid $6.00 for a matinee ticket. That's almost half the price of some places around here! I was a little worried about the quality of the screens or the seats because of the price, but I found them to be just as good as my hometown theater that I grew up with. They have a nice beer selection at really low prices, and even offer 12 oz wine pours!! Which is pretty wild. For the not-so-great: They only have one ticketing window, and even for the one daytime, not-even-full movie that was playing while we were there, there was a line. And the parking lot is small, and when a movie gets out, it can take a while for people to turn onto McGuire one-by-one. This might not be the theater that I would choose for a big blockbuster hit, but for every other movie that comes out? I love the idea of having an inexpensive, alcohol-friendly theater right around the corner. read more

Today was my second time at this theater (in two days--thanks, MoviePass) and I'm a fan! It's a great little local theater, and I'm always a sucker for small businesses. I feel like you don't see many locally-owned theaters anymore, or maybe that's just because for the past eight years I've only lived in Chicago and the Orlando area. Anyway this theater reminds me so much of my movie theater experiences as a child. I don't know what it is about it, but it gives me the same vibe and that gives me the warm fuzzies. The seats are quite comfortable and the concessions are more reasonably-priced than those at big chains like AMC. The concessions area seemed a bit frantic but, to be fair, I visited on a Friday and Saturday. And everyone working here from the box office to the ticket takers to the concessions workers were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The only "complaint" I have I would rather package as a piece of advice... There's not a lot of space here, so the five theaters are close together. Be aware of the kind of movie you're seeing and which movies will be playing on either side of that theater. I say this because the film I saw yesterday was Mother!, a film with many quiet and suspenseful moments. The theater I was in was relatively small and narrow and I sat to the center left. The movie playing in the theater to my left was It, and some of the quiet, suspenseful moments were interrupted by screams of "you'll float too!" Likewise, during the showing of Wind River I attended tonight, I could hear the chaos of the end of Mother! during the quiet of Wind River's ending. Not a huge deal, but had I been thinking about it I might've sat further towards the center or the right side of the theater. In conclusion, it's a great theater, close to a lot of things I like a lot (That One Spot, Orange County Creamery, and Twistee Treat) and in the future I'll definitely be coming here as often as they have movies I want to see! read more

Just wanted to post a note about the best theater ever - post COVID. Still a great place. Still great prices. And a nice clean theater. We recent saw Love and Monsters and were only one of two peeps in the theater. This is TRULY a great place to go with the fam - nobody is there now and while I don't think that's a good thing for business, I highly recommend it for a fun weekend w the fam. Pulling in to the parking lot there was 4 cars of kids/parents who all knew each other and were also looking for some fun/normal past-time. We did wear masks but took them off in the theater (since only 2 other people were in there). We got fries, and a beer and it truly was a nice enjoyable experience in this new normal sitch! read more

West Orange 5 is tucked away behind a little strip mall on Maguire Road. It is independently owned and plays new releases. The screens are not as high tech and they don't offer the large comfortable leather chairs but there is a wonderful hometown feel to the theater. The prices are slightly lower and the employees are very friendly. Even with all of the upgrades that the big chain movie theaters are making they still do not compare to the quality of food offerings that West Orange 5 has on their menu. The reason may be because the employees are more conscientious in food prep and shelf life. You can purchase your tickets online but will be charged an additional 50 cents per ticket. read more

This place gets packed though. My suggestion is to buy your ticket early and arrive at least 20 mins before the movie to get a good seat. This charming little Mom n' Pop theater is still one of the most affordable and most enjoyable theaters around Orlando. Limited screens but always showing the best of the blockbusters, if you live on the south side of Orlando it's worth the drive. I've been going to the West Orange 5 for years, so I'm surprised it took me this long to get around to a review. I love the local feel of the theater- the tickets are so much cheaper than the big name brands! Standard popcorn, candy and soda of course but they also have lunch options and beer/wine. They keep the theater pretty clean from the several movies I have seen there. The only thing that ever throws you off is if the big name movie of the month isn't being shown in the one Table room they have, which actually has small tables you can rest your food on for a limited number of people. Sound quality is always good on the films, never had a technical issue while watching anything there. It's located in a tiny plaza with a comic book store and ice cream parlor- check it out when you can! read more

I simply fell in love with the old school vibe this place was giving off. It is a charming, small movie theater. This is the only movie theater I know in town that sells wine coolers which gave me an ultra flashback. The price is very reasonable it will cost you $8.00 dollars for your lovely entrance fee. Oh and you know what else is very reasonable the cost of food. The food options are great as well I was able to order a cheeseburger with fries, and my daughter ordered the Nachos Supreme which came with all the lovely toppings including sour cream, chili, cheese, sour cream, and Jalapenos. Both menu options were very tasty! Oh and get's even better the seats are so comfy and spacious inside the movie theater, and I was able to have a table to actually eat my meal comfortably. I wish more movie theaters in town were set up in this manner. There is also plenty of parking. Just a little side note after the movie if you want to go grab ice cream the yummy Twistee Treat is right across the street. What I love about this place is easy access. No hassle with getting in and out of the theater. Plenty of free, garage-less parking in the back as well. Buy ticket outside, proceed to seat. Nice and easy. The rows are spaced far apart so there is plenty of leg room available. I have not tried the treats, however, I do think it's cool to have the front seats with tables. Prices are cheap as well. I only paid $5.50 for a matinee. Seems as if they only show really current films for a short time period, so movies do not tend to stay here long. read more

Great family owned theater. Theaters are small but very clean & comfortable. They offer great food and drinks as well as beer. The screens are plenty large enough and the sound is terrific. The staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is available and there are plenty of places within walking distance to grab a sandwich or dinner before or after the movie as well as ice cream. You can't beat $6 for a before 4pm movie. Nothing fancy here, it's pretty old school theatre but the screens are of an acceptable size and the sound quality is great. Tickets are always a good price. On weekends and even in nights movies premier the lines are extremely long but they move super quick! The food is average but I can't complain because they don't charge and arm and a leg for food. Burgers, hot dogs, cheese fries, nachos, soft drinks and beers. They also have snacks and candy. Bathrooms are clean. Arm rests go up, but nothing fancy. Good size seats though. This is normally my go to movie theater. Will definitely be back. read more

Don't let its appearance fool you, this family-owned theater simply rocks. I go here whenever possible to catch my movies. It recently finished construction and added more theaters so KUDOS! I like the small feel of the theater too. Nothing flashy, just an old school set up that fundamentally fulfills the movie-watching experience. I have to say the food is good for a theater too. The burgers are actually VERY tasty.The beer and wine menu is an added amenity too! The large beers are quite pleasing. The main theater has 3D capability with tables and reclining chairs up front. Parking can be a challenge but they recently created parking in the grass field next door so problem solved there. They are listed on Fandango one can purchase and print a ticket at home to avoid the wait in line. I like the fact that employees come in and clean each theater fully after every show too. There's Not A Great Selection Of Beer And Wine But They Have One! And The Concession People Are Always Super Nice. Its Great To Take The Family To Or To Go All By Yourself. You Can Even Reserve A Special Viewing Room For Families With Small Children, Great For Everybody In The Theater! I had no idea this place even existed until I met a friend for a movie and we discovered that the times had changed at the multiplex since we made the plan (d'oh!). So, like any tech savvy goddesses would, we looked up other theatres playing our movie & came up with the West Orange 5 and I am THRILLED we did. It is a small place only running 5 movies, but it's clean, friendly and best of all, CHEAP! For two of us to see a movie, get popcorn & drinks cost $21. No, for real, $21!!!! It's clearly a neighborhood favorite since there was a decent crowd at 1PM on a Saturday. I also liked the fact that the majority of the crowd was older (no loudmouth bratty kids), there were no video games in the lobby (again with the no bratty kids), they served beer (yay, beer!), the previews were mainly ads from local businesses and people CLAPPED at the end of the movie (man, I miss that!). I can't think of one thing that would make this place better and I feel better knowing that places like this still exist in the world. So, if you are ever in the area, please check it out so that it continues to be delightful for years to come. read more

This is such a neat theater. It has some aspects of a dine-in theater because some of the theaters inside have tables for you to eat. The theaters are much smaller than a normal theater. But it is great when you want to go with some friends or family. The seats are comfortable , and the screens are large. They still have the old fashioned ticket booth where you have to buy tickets at the ticket booth you are also able to purchase tickets online.
