My grandma was a patient at Southern Lakes Physical Therapy and was being treated for her vertigo. I accompanied her on many of her appointments. The staff at SLPT, to put it mildly, was absolutely phenomenal. They were all very well-educated, answered all questions that my grandma or I had, were very enjoyable to work with, and provided us with incredible scheduling opportunities! Because someone always had to accompany my grandma to her therapy appointments, we couldn't always get her in at the same hour on the same days, so SLPT worked with us and made sure that she never missed an appointment. If you're looking for flexible therapy scheduling opportunities, SLPT is the place to be, that's for sure! Not to mention, the physical therapists, physical therapist assistant, and physical therapist aids on site provided the best care for my grandma that I have ever witnessed. They treated her kindly, always had smiles on their faces, and truly listened to my grandma and her needs and concerns. Her overall feedback was extremely important to them, and that feedback ultimately shaped the way her therapy session would progress (increase exercise receptions, take an easy day, etc.) Basically, they were very attentive to her and her needs at each therapy session. She loved working with all of the staff, and although she is no longer a patient at SLPT, she still talks about the staff and recommends the therapy clinic to others who she knows needs physical therapy! As her grandson, I am so thankful for all of SLPT and the incredible care and attention they provided for my grandma. Thanks to them, her vertigo symptoms have lessened and are not as intense nor as frequent as they used to be in the past. I know she is forever thankful as well. I would recommend SLPT to anyone looking for the quality care that is necessary to allow one to return to their potential while recovering from an injury, some sort of weakness, etc. My grandma is much more confident in her physical abilities of performing chores around her house, stabilizing herself on her stationary bike at home without worrying about experiencing vertigo, and for that, she thanks SLPT! As a full-time, career Paramedic with 13 years of experience in the Emergency Medical Services, I have seen my fair share of injuries on the job. However, up until recently, those injuries were in relation to the patients I cared for, not myself. Unfortunately for me, I faced a nearly career-ending injury on the job while attempting to save someone's life, suffering a complete distal biceps rupture in my dominant arm. After undergoing surgery for this injury, I faced the daunting task of physical therapy. Initially, I started off with a large, well known PT firm, continuing there for about 6 weeks at 2-3 sessions per week. I unfortunately was not receiving the personal, individual attention I needed or experiencing the progress I expected, so I looked elsewhere for my PT needs. Enter Dr. Bill Lois at Southern Lakes Physical Therapy (SLPT). Initially, after transferring to his care, I began my treatment lacking full extension of my elbow (by about 10 degrees), lacking full rotation of my forearm in both supination (lacking about 40 degrees) and pronation (lacking about 10 degrees), and had significantly limited strength. I had difficulty with sleeping, writing, typing, opening doors, lifting/carrying, could bear little weight on my injured arm, and just felt like my fine motor skills were hopelessly lost. But after 15 weeks with SLPT, I returned to work with full range of motion and with nearly 100% of my strength returned. Dr. Bill and his specialists (Thank You, Joey Plicka) gave me the personalized treatment I needed, they were positive, professional, accommodating, and just plain excellent people. I'm not the type of people that does comments I personally think is a waste of time but honestly this one is very important to me because going to this clinic was a smart decision!!! I'm a football kicker and I had a really bad calf injury I though I was going to miss my whole season but when I went to southern lakes physical therapy the doctor that saw me the first day explained to me more about this type of injury and the way that need it to be treated, couple of weeks after my treatment started I was able to notice a huge improvement in my calf I was able to workout and little by little got back the strength in my leg to be able to kick and thanks to my personalized treatment today i can say that I'm healed yesterday my season started and I was able to play with no problems at all and I also want to thank the staff they were so helpful and friendly at the end I would love to say that I want to go back but that means that I'm hurt again obviously I don't want that but If for some reason I get another injury of any type I definitely know where to go !!! I had the good fortune of being referred to Southern Lakes Physical Therapy to treat some severe back pain I had been experiencing. I had many questions, and I was very nervous that I would not be able to golf again. After reviewing my situation, and answering my many questions, Dr. Lois outlined a clear rehab plan to get me back to normal. Dr. Lois, and his wonderful staff, executed the strategy to perfection. I am glad to say I'm back to my old self!! Throughout my physical therapy, the expert staff at Southern Lakes Physical Therapy worked with me every step of the way to ensure I was getting the most from each exercise. I just have to start off by saying, wow. I finally walked into a place that made me feel safe and welcomed. It's already difficult to wake up and actually want to follow through with therapy due to the discomfort. The energy at Southern Lakes definitely contributed to my desire to get better. You can feel the warmth as soon as you step your foot through the door. The receptionist was very soft spoken and accommodating. The therapists themselves were all approachable and extremely communicative. I am sincerely grateful for my treatment. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner, which helped me to understand why this place is the way it is. I can always appreciate a business more when you come face to face with the reason for the sense of community. These people have a devotion to helping people. I have to say that this is surprising to see reviews that would indicate this PT office is subpar from amazing. I personally went there for an ACL tear PT and they were beyond amazing! They were very attentive and I have enjoyed being able to come in to do PT. I used to be in a different office and I did not have a good time but since coming to SLPT I can feel the difference in treatment and in my physical state I can now run and bend further than when I started. I highly recommend Dr Lois with any physical problems and muscle pain. In my own experience he was able to correct my lower back pain that I had for years and now is gone for good. In another time I went back for a very severe pain in my neck area and he was the only Doctor that corrected a pinched nerve in the neck area without any pain medication. read more
