It's been a year since they promised to come finish the job, got their final payment and disappeared. (Yup, I should not have paid them the last big payment before all complete, lesson learned) My cabinet doors fell off, my hood was held up by one screw, the rest are popped out, unfinished/unadjusted cabinets, cracked tiles, sink lose, shoe mold falling out and cracked, base of cabinet missing, cracked grout, etc. .. I have pics. The craftsmanship is rough and patches of filler on cabinet doors here and there. These guy came out with all kind of excuses week after week, month after month... I had been patient and understanding but I just can't keep waiting. They stopped answering my call and text, they are awful. I heard from their worker that many customers are waiting for their job to get done but lots are still waiting and neglected. I agree with Daniel, DO NOT let their smiley faces, part owner Shane C. fool you. They are good sales but don't finish work. Good at coming to collect money but gone like a wind! I too want to take them to court. I am feeling angry, stupid and helpless. I spent almost 18K on this crap. If we find enough unhappy customers, I believe the case will be stronger and we can get together to be each other's witnesses. I am willing to help! Just contact me! These people need to have this place shut down and stop hurting all innocent folks like us. There were multiple times where we had to stop their workers and ask them to send someone new because they were doing things wrong. Example: they tried to put tiles down WITHOUT smoothing the adhesive out. Just one of the many ways they messed up. Fast forward to two years later, and the roof in my formal dining collapsed because they did not properly install my shower. The shower liner and drain system was improperly installed, and it cost me THOUSANDS of dollars to fix. They sent someone to come look at the damage when it first happened, and then ignored all my calls after that. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. Save your money and your sanity and go to someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Originally got a fast reply via phone, set up an appointment, and had someone come out and take a look at the basement. He was friendly and seemed to be interested and capable. He said he would go back and work out a floor plan and pricing estimates for what we had discussed. He did let me know that they were behind on some projects, and we discussed that it was not an immediate need, but he said he would get back to me in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks passed and I reached back out. The person I called said he could see that it was being worked out and to just give it some more time. It's now been 7 months, and have given up believing I might eventually get a quote.

They have a very clear process for design and construction. It does involve a lot of meetings, but everyone there is so nice to work with, we didn't mind. They were also great about scheduling meetings at the end of the day, so that we didn't have to miss work. Their architect found a great solution to the problem of adding on to our house without spending a huge amount of money. And, we worked with an interior designer on staff who helped us pick out fixtures and tiles. All very easy! Renewal's team is experienced with the 203K streamline loan, which we used to add onto our home. It would have been difficult to deal with a contractor who was new to this type of loan product. I will definitely post pictures of the finished job. The work will raise our property value, and make our house into our dream home!

The lady who answered the phone told me they would not give me a quote due to the fact that they only do work in the City of Decatur because of "traffic" . She said this after I gave her my zip code. I thought this was odd since I saw one of their yard signs in front of a home they are working on in Grant Park. Last time I checked, Grant Park is way outside of Decatur. West End is not as "gentrified" as Grant Park or Decatur but it is an awesome neighborhood with beautiful historic homes. I guess redlining zip codes is still a thing for some.

Quote was reasonable, I would supply the materials. Total gutting of the bathroom - Tom suggested a walk-in shower. Stayed on budget, work completed in a couple of days. The bathroom looks great! During the bathroom remodel, I inquired about the kitchen. Tom gave me two quotes. Went with the 2nd quote, which would remove a wall and add an island. Wow! What a transformation!! Went with all of Tom's recommendation, which included additional cabinets/crown molding to complete the look, recessed lighting, new sink, counter tops, floors and changing/adding electrical outlets. Really opens up the place. Friends and family all remark on the craftmanship and how amazing it looks. Kitchen was completed on time and within budget. Tom and his team are very professional. Easy to work with, hard working, knowledgeable - went above and beyond. Very satisfied with all of my rooms. Will definitely call them again with my next remodel.

I was asked to pick out tile, fixtures, and cabinets from a list of vendors. I had initially…read moreselected grey cabinets, but called the vendor back to change my preference to white. I used white cabinet samples to compare to the countertops during selection. The work was done quickly at first. Demo took a couple days with the owner and one worker. When it came time to install the cabinets, they had ordered the grey color cabinets. When I called the vendor to confirm my color choice, she informed me that ARJ had never placed an order with them. The cabinets (and presumably the tile as well) must have been ordered from some alternate vendor. ARJ fought with me to insist that the grey cabinets were fine and looked good. I had to insist that they install the cabinets that I selected. Because the shower pan installation didn't account for the lip of the shower bench, the bench installation was done by cutting a notch out of my doorframe to accommodate. When I insisted this be corrected, the bench was cut down smaller and the notch was filled with silicone caulk (which shrunk upon drying). The mosaic tile used for the shower pan floor and on the walls was uneven and poorly cut and installed. ARJ blamed this on defective tiles from the manufacturer and insisted that this could not be avoided. No spacers were used on the mosaic tile resulting in uneven and jagged lines. Tiles were chipped and cracked during installation. There was a film left from the grout which has stained the tile floors. The wall tile and shower tile are still covered with a film. The light fixtures that were installed were not even centered above the sinks, and when I asked to have this corrected, ARJ suggested just moving the mirror over (even though this would also be off-center with the sink). I asked ARJ for an itemized invoice for the cost of materials numerous times and they never provided one. I was charged over $5,000 for materials (tile, cabinets, and countertops - fixtures were purchased personally). When confronted with the issues, ARJ argued that the work was fine and that the damage to the tiles was hardly noticeable, especially if you stood back from the walls. I insisted on receiving an itemized invoice because I feel certain I was overcharged for the materials (including the tile that was damaged).
