Really shoddy work and just terrible. They also repitched the gutters to the extreme just dropping the ends to make quick work of it and so they look terrible. They then left out gutter wedges that I then had to call them about and convince them to come back out to put back in. They said via phone I wasn't missing any but I was standing under my gutters at the time and looking up at the gutters and could see them missing. The crew also left garbage from the project around my house. The scrap from cutting out the gutters for downspouts was just left on the ground, the park of the deck they cut out they just dropped on the ground. Really really poor quality work overall.

At the time, we also need a new water heater and asked them to give us an estimate for a new gas tankless water system while they were here. The two guys who showed up to do the work, were very professional, thorough and efficiant. The work that we hired them for was excellent and the cost to do this work was excellent - they were here for a couple of hours to complete the work and give us an estimate and charged us only $265. Another plumbing (Brown Brothers) company we hired to to adjust our water pressure (ONLY) a 7 months ago - were here for only 15-minutes and lowered our high water pressure way too low, charged us almost $500 - and it took them 7 months to bill us. Do not hesitate to hire Joseph Rose Plumbing for your work at your home. Also, I would like to add that the Joseph Rose technicians took pictures of ALL the work they did - before and after - and these were all included in their emailed invoice. That said, while Joseph Rose's estimate for a new gas tankless system came in a couple of thousand dollars LESS than the lowest estimate we recieved from other companies, we were very nervous about hiring them for this particular work because they didn't mention anything about pulling a city permit for the work. At the end of our discussion - the guy told us that they don't pull permits - this is the responsibility of the homeowner. He said you want us to pull a city permit for the work, it would cost $500, but a permit isn't required (for new installs and like-like-replacements). At the time I didn't realize that a city permit only costs $65 and the this work 100% requires a permit to be pulled. I found this out when I emailed Durham City inspectors to inquire. When I emailed Joseph Rose Plumbing why we were not hiring them for this job, they responded with "We install lots of gas tankless water heaters without pulling permits". Ethan did respond to my email to let me know that his office manager was new/still learning and misunderstood. If you are having plumbing work that requires a city permit - look elsewhere, none of the three other companies who gave us estimates required the customer to pull their own city permit for the work - let alone charge $500 if you wanted them to pull a permit. The $65 permit fee was worked into all other estimate invoices - we never even saw the fee.

After writing that review in 2014, I continued to use SOR for many pressure washing and gutter cleaning projects in the homeowners associations and commercial properties I managed at the time. I was always very impressed with the work and the professionalism. Now, in 2017, I actually work for SOR and I can't think of a better way to give my opinion about the company than that, because I would not work for a company that I didn't think very highly of. Don't worry - the pressure washing, deck staining, etc. will all still be high quality work because I never come within a mile of it! read more

Today, Southern Outdoor Restoration was out to my community in Kernersville, NC to do power washing. One of their employees, Timothy, helped me cover the plants in front of my condo. He also helped to take the tarps off and fold them up. With this type of employee, I would highly recommend this company. (I don't know the cost of the project because the HOA handled that.) We have 6 three story buildings and about 24 quads that had to be washed. Give them a call to find out prices. read more

SOR's team stained our back deck and did an exceptional job this past week. They came on-site their first day and noted some of the deck boards were still damp from furniture and adjusted their schedule to come back later that afternoon. They insisted their crew followed protocol and rinsed multiple times. And they said that plant damage from the cleansing agent would happen immediately (same day), to which we responded even RoundUp takes days to work. Totally understand collateral damage can happen, but the lack of ownership and immediate deflection was off putting. The house is sparkling and the crew did a great job cleaning, however, if you've invested a lot in your garden, beware. You may end up spending hundreds more replacing the plants they didn't protect.

I received a schedule for every visit they will make for the next year (approximately four times per year each for interior and exterior) with the specific services that they would perform each time. So far, they have been very prompt, good at communication, and the services have been absolutely meticulous. Small hiccups were resolved quickly. In addition to the indoor basics (window cleaning, carpet cleaning, wood floor cleaning, granite cleaning, tile and grout cleaning), they do a lot of little things like change lightbulbs and clean lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. Outdoor, they clean gutters, power wash driveway, roof and house, and do windows. They did a fantastic job power washing my decks and screened porches. They were also very tolerant of my animals and never acted annoyed when I had to move them from room to room to allow the team to continue cleaning. I was hesitant to sign up for the service because it is a lot of money. But the high quality and easy scheduling I believe makes it worth the money. You do not have to be on the phone chasing after guys to come over, you do not need to worry about no-shows. And the work has been just fantastic. The carpet guy removed stains that professional carpet cleaners have not been able to get off for years, simply by taking his time and using different products until he got some thing to work.
