Stopped in today craving an acai bowl. I ordered a smoothie bowl hoping to have a thick cool refreshing base with fresh fruit on top... that is not what I received. I got a watered down bland tasting smoothie that melted the second we received it. The granola they put in it was also gross. The texture of it was just off. I was charged for almond butter even though it was listed in the description of the bowl. Also, the flow of the place is just off. We waited very long to order at the one ordering station while two other employees sat and waited for an order to come to them to make. I can't stand inefficiencies like this as they are such a simple fix. Also note, it was NOT crowded. There was one other person. We should not have waited as long as we did. So good I stopped by twice! I was looking for a healthy smoothie following my time at orange theory and the instructor directed me here. The parking can be somewhat tricky in downtown Greenville but there are parking garages if no street parking is available. They have a wide variety of smoothies and juices in addition to healthier food options. Everything looked absolutely delicious. I got the ABJ and the Lexie strong adding spinach to both and loved them equally. If you are in a hurry I'd recommend ordering ahead online to avoid any long waits. After eating junk food at the arena all weekend for a conference I wanted something healthy so my brother recommended we meet up here. This place is pricey, roughly $11 for a smoothie seems ridiculous to me, but my brother had a coupon for $5 off. Yay! the Lexie Strong was delicious-- essentially chocolate milk with bananas, so what's not to like? A refreshing treat to enjoy in the afternoon. Once I got here, they claimed they never received my order. Although I had just spoken to them on the phone 30 mins prior and paid. I offered to show the receipt and they got upset. I then had to wait another 30 minutes, so a total of ONE hour for one bowl. On a second occasion, I called ahead again and waited 30 minutes for the two bowls to be ready. I have purchased juice here several times recently and noticed that the original expiration dates had been covered by stickers with later dates on them and they did NOT taste fresh. They claim that their juices are fresh-pressed but I've seen them delivered in boxes. I actually overheard one of the managers/owners instructing an employee not to bring the juices out to the cooler in the boxes so the customers cannot see. Not everyone's into juice . . . or all fresh & organic ingredients, for that matter. However. If you are--or if you haven't given it a try yet but either a) care about your health or b) enjoy fresh food--then you should really give Southern Pressed a try. I'm not a die-hard juicer, but I've now had probably a dozen of their juices, a few of their smoothies, and all of their energy bowls. I even did a three-day cleanse. Here's the thing. I've been to several juiceries or juice bars in different states. Here's what tends to happen: Either the place is more like a GNC health style place, has nothing resembling "fresh" on hand and, as a result, serves multiple versions of metallic powder water (not my thing, as you probably guessed) Or the place smells like a garden when you enter, clerks have dreads, and . . . everything tastes awful. Like, I must be building character as part of sucking this down. (Also not my jam.) Difference about Southern Pressed is that they manage to be both super fresh and surprisingly delicious. And there's a huge range of flavor, from their Hot Mess (cayenne, lemon, grapefruit, ginger, etc) to Luca Lovin (almonds, dates, coconut) to Hippie Lettuce (romaine, pear, kale, lime) to Root Shine (beet, orange, tarragon, mint). I love each of those and many others. Only drawback is that everything is pricey. Might be expected for this kind of freshness and downtown location, but I know I've heard from others in big cities that you can get lower prices when you have more competition that's on the same level of quality. If that day hits GVL, it will be a good sign. Until then, Southern Pressed is your place for juice. read more

I used to come here every Saturday when I'd visit the Greenville Saturday Farmers Market. After I'd made my purchases, it was my treat to myself and a great way to cool off after being out in the sun for a bit. It had been quite a while between visits (almost a year) and, when I returned, I noticed things had changed. When I went in late spring, I noticed that the smoothie bowl I ordered was less plentiful than it usually was and that the recipe had changed. I was a huge fan of the "Mama's Jam" bowl as it was basically a healthier parfait with layers of banana chia seeds, a jam-like strawberry puree topped with their banana-based thick smoothie and various seasonal fruits, honey and a fantastic kale granola. Upon my return, the strawberry puree was replaced by just cut up strawberries and the kale granola was more cacao than kale. I almost thought I was given the wrong order for a moment and actually questioned the employee who handed it to me because I didn't recognize it. The other thing that changed was they stopped using reusable dishes. Their bowls used to be served in actual glass bowls or jars that were pre-chilled to keep the smoothie cold. You also had your choice of metal or plastic spoons Now, everything is plastic. I don't know if it's a recyclable or a biodegradable plastic, but it doesn't seem like it. My most recent visit was somewhat better than my previous one as I decided to give them another shot. The bowl was more filled out and loaded with ingredients and toppings. However, I missed the old bowls and the beautiful way the smoothies looked when the toppings were piled high on them. Now, I just get a plastic bowl of disappointment. read more

I did not have a great experience. Customer service was pretty awful. I stopped in for a matcha latte on my lunch break, thinking I would have plenty of time. I work down the street, so I simply walked to this local shop thinking it would be so nice to support local. I regret it. There were no other customers in the shop so I went right up to the counter to order. The cashier was wiping down the front counter and didn't greet me. That's not really a problem for me, however she continued cleaning the counter rather than taking my order. She gave me some sass when I asked about the add ins that she offered me. "The energy booster gives you energy..." Obviously. Thanks for your help. I sat down to wait for my order. Still the only customer in sight. Another customer walked in while I was waiting. She ordered a smoothie bowl. I know this because the cashier made it for her before she even started my simple beverage. Meanwhile, there were at least 3 other staff members working. I don't understand this logic. 15 minutes went by and she finally handed me my beverage. My $9 drink tasted awful. I regret leaving a tip. The $9.72 price tag is about what is expected for açaí type bowls, though for that I wish my berry toppings weren't still semi frozen. But nonetheless it was good and I would definitely visit again. I saw on other posts they seemed to have reusable bowls when you get it for there, that is not the base anymore they only have plastic containers and utensils and no recycling! I have been to this location multiple times. The quality of the food and drinks is great but have had some unfortunately bad customer service. Last time I was there, I asked to make a substitution on a fruit that I have an allergy to (a request they have fulfilled multiple times for me), and the girl at the counter rolled her eyes at me and complained about how busy they were and how it would be an inconvenience to do this. I totally understand that they were busy, but felt like she was being a little unprofessional. I did their juice cleanse a while back. It wasn't terrible in comparison to the Blue Print, but I still prefer that. Their service is great and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. I would frequent this establishment more often if there was more convenient parking. I don't really feel like walking so far and lugging back a bunch of juices for their cleansed.
