We stopped in again Sunday, and even though the place was BUSY, the service was still top-notch. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. Nobody gave off that "please don't ask me another question" busy-day energy. This time we tried the sampler with four different ice cream flavors, which is perfect when your brain says, "Just pick one," but your stomach says, "Why limit ourselves?" And then came the funniest part of the visit. She told us one of the flavors was caramelized pineapple... and somehow I heard Spider-Man. LOL. I have absolutely no idea how my brain got from caramelized pineapple to Spider-Man, but once I said it, the whole family lost it. We were all cracking up. So now, whether they like it or not, that flavor will probably forever be known as "the Spider-Man ice cream" in our house. LOL. Of course, we also had to get the Sunny Mango again. That drink is AMAZING and has officially become one of our must-orders. My daughter went with the birthday cake ice cream in a waffle cone and absolutely loved it. Great treats, great atmosphere, and even better people. The fact that they handled a busy Sunday this well says a lot. But, the owner remembered us from a couple days before (and that we were out-of-towners) and while someone else was helping them, got our order started for us so it was already ready and we just paid for it once the Pokey People were done putting in their order. As you descend the stairs from the sidewalk, you pass under the sign that's visible from the street. This is the type of place where they make their own syrups in house (which I prefer). If you're looking for pastries, you're in luck because they have those too! When I visited I tried their brown sugar cinnamon latte and blueberry scone which they so graciously delivered to my table. They also had a few books and board games to keep you entertained if you want to stay a while!
