Unfortunately, I left needing a new stylist--and with significantly more hair cut off than I requested--because it wasn't cut straight the first time. I asked for it to be evened out, but it was overcorrected, and one side ended up even shorter than the other. I will now need even more cut off to have it fixed. I don't ask for layers, bangs, or anything complicated--just a straight, even trim. Yet my hair is still uneven by almost an inch. While I understand that hair grows back, this setback means I now have to wait even longer to donate it. I'm very upset. My hair was right at my tailbone before and now it's about 3+ inches shorter and clearly uneven.

I grew it out for a few months, but couldn't wait through the sides getting long. I saw Amanda for a consultation for hair extensions and balayage. When I came back for the appointment, everything went perfectly. Amanda is so pleasant and wears extensions, so she was very knowledgeable and wanted me to look fantastic. She colored my hair to perfectly match the extensions. I had brought a picture to the consultation and my hair looks exactly like the picture. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a salon. I am now a lifetime client. I'll continue to wear extensions even after my hair is long again, in order to add volume to my fine hair. I'm starting to get some gray hairs and she is now my colorist for life! I've had my extensions for three weeks now and they are wearing perfectly. I feel so pretty!

The 2nd time I went, Carly decided to wash before the cut/style and, while I couldn't tell initially after styling, my hair was terribly uneven when I left. Like in a serious way - pictures attached. I will say that when I texted Carly a photo, she confirmed that was not her intention and offered to try to correct the error. I do appreciate this. I went back in and she was able to "even" it out as best she could given the condition. It wasn't ideal, but I get it. Mistakes happen. Carly took a look at all of my pictures of the type of hair that i liked , and booked my appointment for a few weeks out . She gave me a cost estimate at the consultation which i am really grateful for because I've experienced "sticker shock " before at hair appointments , expecting to pay one thing and getting a much higher bill at the end of the service . I will say that the prices listed on the website are very much " starting prices " . My hair service ended up being a corrective color and did take several hours , however Carly explained to me that i will be able to go for several months in between my highlighting services so in my opinion, it was well worth the money and time ! The more we talked about this, the worse it got, even though I told her I wasn't angry. I just wanted my hair fixed. So now I'm out a lot of hard earned money. Overall, it is a great experience and I usually leave happy with my hair. The stylists are always super friendly and we have pleasant conversations during. It is worth mentioning that this salon has staff who have different experience levels. I have always chosen or been placed with a stylist with a high experience level, but this time I chose to take a gamble and go with someone at a "level 1"... this was where I went wrong. We had a great conversation, and I told her the exact haircut that I wanted- just a simple medium length cut with lots of layers (I had long hair). Additionally, I provided about five reference photos of the exact haircut that I wanted. I figured the haircut would be simple enough to replicate. I told her verbatim "please just not too short". I expected that she would deliver the haircut that I wanted with the information I provided and the photos. This was not the case.... my idea of a medium length haircut was erased and replaced with essentially a "long bob" ... which is very short... about 4 inches shorter than what I asked for. I really wish that she had followed my instructions of where I wanted it to be cut at. I think that she did not have enough experience and didn't consider the fact that wet hair appears much shorter once it is dry. Another item that I did not care for was that my typical 45 minute haircut took her an hour and a half to complete. I do not mind the fact that she took her time, so much as that she cut my hair entirely too short despite knowing that I wanted a medium length like the photos. I will be honest and just say it outright: my hair looks hideous now :( I left the salon feeling very sad and disappointed- only clinging to the fact that hair grows back. Despite being super upset about my hair, I will continue to go to the salon blu, but I highly recommend that anyone who goes to this place chooses a stylist at a high level. Lesson learned

I came in wanting a lighter, cooler-toned balayage and showed an inspo photo of hair she had previously done herself. However, the final result turned out much warmer/orangier than expected. I completely understand the complexity of coloring and bleaching and that results may not always turn out exactly as planned. I was never told before, during, or after the appointment that my hair had not lifted enough to achieve the desired tone until I reached out afterward myself. After contacting the salon, the corrective option offered was a darker glaze/toner, which wasn't really the direction I wanted to go, so I decided not to do it because I wasn't confident it would achieve the result I was hoping for.
