They put her in a cage for 30 minutes to see how she would react. The cage was above the floor, on top of another cage so she had no space to move around. It was the equivalent of putting a dog in an animal shelter. I decided to not board her there. I had a feeling if I had, she would have spent almost all of her time inside the cage and would not have been given opportunities to go outside, except to relieve herself. I didn't see adequate space for dogs to run, just lots of cages.

First, you're going to have to call ahead and make an appointment with her and the staff. They take the time to wash and groom only one to two dogs at a time so there's less time in a crate or restrained which is something some dogs are strangers to. Theodore was not crate trained and she kept him in a laundry room so he was still kept apart from the other dog while waiting which was most accommodating of her! Chrissy is the only doggy groomer who offers soothing essential oils that are doggy friendly and aimed towards benefiting the dogs. A grooming session that takes 3 hours at our other place only takes 1.5-2 here with her. I think the lack of waiting is what really cuts down on the time. It's unassuming, homey and tucked away from a lot of foot traffic but very quiet so skittish dogs can really benefit from this place. I want to say a full grooming session for my 75 lbs. long haired white snow dog was $55? maybe $59? Either way, my dog came back to me reasonably happy, injury free (unlike another place) and very nicely styled in a very short amount of time. Any amount of money is worth that piece of mind

They did provide pain medicine and antibiotics for her as well as a $40 bottle of concentrated flea spray for the yard at my request. When I got up to the counter and got the bill I almost had a heart attack! It was over $900!!! So close to a K that I just handed her that and got maybe $20-30 back in change. I was flabbergasted. Yes it was almost 11 at night. Yes, it was an emergency case but dang!!! I've never had to pay that much when my other dog had a surgery and had to stay for a week at another clinic. Long story short, they missed a puncture wound and it abscessed but my baby is fine now and I will NEVER take another animal there.

Recently, Dr. Gaffigan, who is getting ready to retire sold her practice to another veterinarian who has changed this sweet and loving place into a money grab. No more complimentary nail trims with exams, no more selling monthly heart/flea/tick protection medicine for a one-month supply for customers that are on a budget. Labs need to be done before renewing medication can be prescribed or administered- for elderly pets that have been on medications that are working! Why put them through that? The hours also changed only being open Monday through Thursday and that is difficult for working adults. I voiced my opinion that to pay for a three-month supply would be difficult for me, as I now rely mostly on social security after a recent cancer diagnosis. I had a well-paying job prior. If you break a package and sell three tablets, why can't you sell just one tablet for people that may have multiple pets like me. I received a letter in the mail that I was rude to staff and would not be welcomed back should my communication not improve. I was not rude; I just expressed my opinion. I have never in my lifetime been given a letter or reprimand like that! I have spent the bulk of my professional career helping people. I worked for hospice and was loved and respected.
