Since the new owner/ vet has taken over the place has gone to %$#^. Even though she was a vet there before taking over the business the service is bad. I boarded my 6 cats and 2 ferrets there for a quick trip to visit family for the holidays. When picking my pets up and arriving home I discovered that one of my cats had her front paws bloody and her nails had been damaged and pulled out. I notified the vet to only be blown off. No one knew anything. Dr Marley, the owner and vet, has shown no compassion for animals anymore. Needless they will never see my pets again. read more

I had an emergency with my yorkie. She had visible puncture marks and scrapes. I rushed her to Wester Vet in Thomson because they were the only one open. The lady vet there had just taken over that day. They shaved her fur in spots to see the wounds and did an x-ray. They did provide pain medicine and antibiotics for her as well as a $40 bottle of concentrated flea spray for the yard at my request. When I got up to the counter and got the bill I almost had a heart attack! It was over $900!!! So close to a K that I just handed her that and got maybe $20-30 back in change. I was flabbergasted. Yes it was almost 11 at night. Yes, it was an emergency case but dang!!! I've never had to pay that much when my other dog had a surgery and had to stay for a week at another clinic. Long story short, they missed a puncture wound and it abscessed but my baby is fine now and I will NEVER take another animal there. read more

I took my Siberian Husky here after a consensus of dog park people agreed that this place was worth the drive from Evans. She'd been butchered at other places and my cat died at the hands of another vet so I was extremely skeptical. My dog needed her annual checkup and this wart she had on her face was causing me grief. The staff took her in, only took 10 minutes to do her check-in work and the vet did her assessment in little to no time. She assured me it wasn't cancer and stressed that lancing it would only please me and not help my dog at all. However, if I wanted to waste $150, she was happy to knock the dog out and cut into her. Instead, she prescribed her an anti-fungal ointment and sent her on her way and for a lot less than the other vets in the area. read more

I wish I had good things to say, but unfortunately I don't. I received a postcard today welcoming us to the Wester Veterinary Clinic, but I will never be back. My daughter and I brought her rabbit in who was very sick. We were thankful that we were permitted to bring him in and was told the initial exam would be a certain price, but is was about $25 more than expected. Before being seen we waited 2 hours before we were placed in a room and he was quickly examined then sent for xrays. My daughter and I wait about 30mins more in the room and then was aburtly removed and instructed to stand in waiting area with a room full of people and their pets. The veterinarian Dr Vogul never spoke to us again. We was quickly checked out paid $170 and told to go to UGA ER for another $240 dollar visit. My family and I love our pets and we currently have two dogs one 4yrs old and another 16yrs old and out of all the vets (being military and traveling around the world) was by far the worst I have ever visited in the last 30yrs. I ended up taking him to another vet here in Augusta where they took the time to explain and give my daughter a sense of peace with Remington final days. I would just like for you all to know it was the not price that bother me so much, but the way you all handled us was very insensitive and unproffessional. read more

This clinic shows no compassion for pet owners. They recommended a dog to us that they knew it had a history of cancer, but failed to inform us. THey then proceeded to charge us up the ying-yang for services related to this cancer. My poor husband is devastated. I hope you are happy. read more

I enjoy coming to this veterinary. Everyone is really friendly and their prices are relatively lower than other vets within a 40 mile radius. My mom had our cat neutered here and also declawed. The declaw price was at least $80 cheaper than the other 6 businesses I contacted for quotes. read more

My dog had a choppy haircut Her nails were not trimmed. Totally not worth the money. I won't be back for grooming.

Where do I even begin. So took my very sick 15 year old cat in with a contagious infection of the mouth. He was not eating or drinking due to having a mouth full of bleeding ulcers. The vet proceeds to berate me telling me that I was the reason my cat was sick since I have 5 other cats in my home. Apparently, this vet believes in some archaic study that says cats should live alone and have 5 acres of space. She won't let it go keeps telling me this cat is sick because either have too many cats and how horrible I am for having more than 1 cat. When come to find out, he actually has a highly contagious infection that could have come from my clothes or shoes from the environment....Get that nonsense out of the way and then they send him home with antibiotic and lysine. Well this cat has a mouth full of bleeding ulcers and can't eat or drink. I have no fluids to give him and they didn't even give pain meds. After a couple days of syringing water into his mouth every hour, I took him to another vet who was appalled that Wester's staff didn't give pain meds or fluids to take home. So I ended up paying twice the price because I had to go to another vet and then my cat suffered needlessly. I will absolutely never return to this vet. This nonsense has happened two other times with them. They were more worried about nonsensical arguments instead of treating my animals then too. Three times is enough. I wont recommend them to anyone and will never return. If I could give them a negative star rating I would. Its ridiculous. On top of that they will push every unnecessary procedure and medicine on healthy animals and not give you anything to work with on a sick one. So if you value your pets don't take them here. read more

It is very rare to find an animal hospital that will let you text them after hours. Pam provides her cell on the website and offers for clients to text her if there are after hour emergencies. While they are not a full emergency clinic, they make the effort when they can. It appears they can't always take emergencies, but I think it's awesome that they try whenever they can. This was a clear indication to me that they care about pets and their people. I also noticed that they offer pet boarding and sitting. read more

Best vet in the area. After first moving to the area, my male lab was shot by a hunter. I took my dog here on a Saturday, after hours and was met not only by a vet, but also one of the owners. We and my dog were treated with the best of care in a scary situation. I would recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pets. read more

Terrible place. Took my Bear there to the groomer and she charged me over 150 dollars just to shave him and he is not a large dog. He came home with gashes in his skin from the equipment she used to shave him and his hair was very uneven. Bear has chronic ear infections which he has been prescribed ear drops for, from a different vet, we use on him every day. Well I didn't clean his ears out before I took him to the groomer here because that is their job to do and I get a call from a very rude woman named Pam who kept accusing me of not taking care of Bear. Let me tell you one thing... I take care of my Bear! He was left for dead at the lake with just a bag of dog food sliced open. We bought him straight home and he has been cared for and spoiled every way possible and for some witch to accuse me of not caring for him, no way! It was a very terrible experience at this place needless to say. Bear couldn't get out of the door fast enough when I picked him up and neither could i. read more
