I tried to get a cookie and they told me. No no no. Only for survivors. I was disappointed but understood. My wife and I shared one of their warm cinnamon rolls, and it continues to be one of the best things they make. It's served warm with a rich cream cheese icing that melts into every bite. Soft, flavorful, and indulgent without being overly sweet, it's become our tradition to split one before the drive home. We also picked up a few Red Velvet Whoopie Pies, which remain another favorite. The cake is incredibly moist, the cream filling is rich without being heavy, and it's hard to believe they're gluten free. Another item we always look forward to is their Oatmeal Cream Whoopie Pie. Unfortunately, they were sold out during this visit, but based on previous trips, it's one of our favorites and well worth trying if it's available. One of the things that impresses me most about Guncles is that the food doesn't feel like it's trying to compensate for being gluten free. The baked goods simply taste like excellent baked goods, period. The staff has always been friendly, welcoming, and consistently provides excellent service, making each visit enjoyable from start to finish.
