The owner has been in business for 25 years and is shop is stacked with cars. Anyone could see that he didn't have time for another job today but when he heard that I was driving to Florida, he sympathized and took a look under the hood. Luckily it wasn't a big problem; however, we needed a part so a phone call and 15min later, I was good to go! If all of life worked like this, frustrations would be a thing of the past. She limped it to the motel in Remington and spent the night. I arrived the next morning and took it to Clarence (only repair shop in town). He made room for me and started right away to get me back on the road as quickly as possible. Diagnosed the problem immediately and had the parts there in no time. Very professional and does the repairs the correct way . Was pleasantly surprised when the bill was less than half of what my local dealer had charged when the other front wheel had the same service (hub replacement). Clarence even apologized for the high cost of the parts. He would be my go-to mechanic if i wasn't 3 hours away. Do not hesitate to have Clarence work on your car, you will not be disappointed.

This ACDelco gold battery cost $175 pretty standard at most dealerships to include the Lafayette GMC. The additional $85 packed into this service is the labor fees and installation costs FOR A BATTERY install. We agreed to pay that knowing $85 is quite a large cost associated with a battery install when most places will install the battery completely for free (would have walked out the door paying $175+tax). We were willing to pay additional money to have a "reputable" dealership.. or so we thought.. install the battery and do any additional simple reset steps that sometimes are needed. This is where it gets bad. After scheduling a service online for $259.95 + a coupon for $10 off a service, my wife went into the easy appointment. It was already booked and selected and agreed on the pricing. However, when they saw a pregnant woman who needed to get to work in a timely manner (it took them 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to our scheduled appointment for a battery to be replaced)... they nickel and dimed the hell out of her. Charging a labor fee on top of the $85 labor already baked into the battery service... not giving her the $10 coupon we selected when we scheduled the appointment... and charging a petty "shop supplies" fee for a battery replacement. When she got home, I immediately called the dealership to inquire why everything was so off and wrong. Adam's reply was "we are eating the cost of the labor and the battery". I immediately called him out on that as I had already looked up the price of the batteries AND called the Lafayette GMC to confirm that battery was $175 without installation. When Adam was called out, he said "there's nothing we can do". By doing so, the Delphi Mann City GMC committed false advertising on the price of the service we scheduled AND then further false advertised the $10 discount we applied and then further degenerately charged labor fees on top of and already high $85 shop charge to install a car battery that is under the hood...

I brought my car there a little over a month ago with an oil leak. I told him i was pretty sure it…read morewas a warped plastic oil pan but the guy assured me it was the oil level sensor. He assured me that lots of cars have plastic oil pans and it's nothing to worry about. So i pay him $700 to fix it. Turns out it didn't fix my leak, was leaking just as badly. So i brought it back to him, and what do you know? Hes explaining to me on the phone that it's because the plastic oil pan was warped. He did seem to feel sorry and give me a good deal on replacing the oil pan, so i spent another 500. He tried to say that fixing one oil leak can cause another, but the oil was clearly leaking from the oil pan the first time i brought it in. I even have obvious photos of it from before I ever brought it to him the first time. I shouldn't have let him convince me it was the sensor. Could he be right? Maybe. But I think the evidence leans towards he made a mistake. Which is fine, mistakes happen. But he could at least admit it.

Luckily we were able to find Thomas' shop before he closed for the day who generously secured the loose splash guard at no charge. We were in and out of there in 15 minutes which put my mind at ease for the rest of our trip. I would definitely recommend checking him out if you live in the area and are looking for a trustworthy mechanic. He could have easily charged us for the quick fix, but instead he helped us out in a jam and got us back on the road in no time.
