After 12+ service calls and $14,541 paid, our Culligan whole-house system now produces yellow-green water that smells of rotten eggs. We disclosed our high sulfur and high TDS at the time of sale -- it is on their own original estimate. They sold us the wrong system anyway. Past 10 days alone: water progressed from cloudy and bubbling, to visible biological growth and corrosion inside the unit, to today's yellow-green tap water. On April 24, 2026 we sent a certified demand letter for replacement or refund. Delivered. No response. We are buying bottled water. We are worried about damage to our pipes and our family's health. The dealer name has changed THREE times during our ownership -- Consolidated Water Group, then Southern Water Services, then Culligan of West Palm Beach -- and each handoff reset our complaints to zero. The serviceman was very good, no complaints about him, but they never told us there was a $149 service call fee (when we called for appointment) just to walk in the door, plus a labor charge fee. Then we needed a new RO tank, (charge for that) all for 20 minutes work $400, wont use them again!!! read more

I have been a loyal customer of Southern Water since 2010, when I purchased my first little farm in Loxahatchee Florida, then after relocating to a larger, 10 acre farm, also in Loxahatchee, FL. I had a lot of iron in the water at new farm and it was not great. Over the years I have probably spent around $30k to get it right, I was told dig a new well, we dug a new well. I was told add an Aerator, we added an Aerator. I was told to drop a 2nd softener system at the house, so we added a new system. My water is HORRIBLE. We have Calcium rings in horse's water buckets after 12 hours overnight. One time the technician forgot to "turn the water back on" when he left. I finally, this week, called a different company and they were incredible. They could not believe all the extra things that Southern Water recommended, because the water was still so bad and the new well simply traded iron for sulfur. Yesterday, I had a new system put in. Apparently the entire system was plummed wrong, having the water go thru the wrong cylinders first. Additionally, the cylinders were not 54" as they charged, but 48" at best. I wish I switched companies 10 years ago, as it has been MADDEDNING. At one point I was told we needed to do an entire Reverse Osmosis system- another $15K, to which I said, not happening. I asked southern to my house to look at my equipment 2years ago. They replaced the softener system. But said the could service carbon filter. This week 2nd time repacking carbon filter the said they could not work on it anymore. They did not have seals. Should not have mislead me. One week after. When I spent $435 to have unit repacked. I don't know what they did. But a pipe burst in their water softener system. I wash my hands of the. Strongly do not recommend them. Not reliable. read more

I am very disappointed in today's results. Our new RO system failed and a tech was sent to correct the issue, which not our caused by us. We were charged a $35 service charge. Fine, fair enough. (A company that offers great customer care wouldn't even think to charge, but whatever ... it's not terrible.) But then we are charged a separate $75 junk fee "trip charge." So for selling us a faulty product, we got further punished with extra fees just to get it up and running again. For a total of $100. I'm sorry but this is Absurd. We experienced a similar situation occur with this company months ago. The owner, a professional and hands-on gentleman, installed the system and mentioned we could be placed on an affordable filter change program. I was so happy about this. But when his tech arrived for our first filter change, he announced they sell the same filters at Publix for $19. Imagine my face when the tech handed me a bill for over $200 for the 2 minute filter change. Yes, the one he said I could buy at Publix for $19. Unethical is the nicest word that comes to mind. I no longer recommend this company or the products they sell. This is a reputation killer and I now wish I had used one of the other companies I initially researched. read more

On 5/23/23 Southern Water's Steve, came out to assess our water system as the water was hard and smelled. Steve was at our house for 20 minutes. He adjusted some settings and suggested we should rebed the system. The water worked well for 2 days and then it was just as before. I called Southern Water three times before anyone was able to help me. I asked for a detailed invoice so I could know exactly what was done and they could not provide one. The invoice just states labor and service call. They had Steve talk to me. He was very rude and told me we should rebed that he can't see inside the tank so they just have to fix what they can see. I scheduled the rebed because he said that would fix the issue. They came back on Wednesday June 7 to rebed the system. The water appeared to be getting better for two days and then went right back to being hard and smelling. We had to wait until Monday as they are not open on the weekends to call. We call on Monday 6/12/23 and my husband is trying to ask questions at this point we have spent almost 800.00 and our water is exactly like it was when we started. My husband tried to ask questions and he was yelled at saying he's asking too many questions and she would not give him an appt if he didn't stop, she was extremely rude. I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service. They did not fix my water, have screamed and hung up on us and I have spent 800.00 and I still have unusable water in my home. Our well pump failed. Southern Water Service was called to fix/replace it. I was faced with a decision of getting a lower horse power rated pump that day or waiting a day to get the existing one repaired. I was never told the consequence of a lower horse powered pump would have on our water pressure. The water pressure is now very low. Southern Water is the expert in this field and should have explained the consequence of a lower rated pump. Very disappointing. read more
