We booked the Silverbell Tree room directly through the Waverly, totaling $595 for two nights. The Waverly charged an additional $17.99 for a booking fee. Unbeknownst to us, there is evidently a "late check-in fee" of $42.70 for checking in after 8 pm. (Our first time EVER to be charged for a late check-in.). We couldn't find record or notification of this charge anywhere, however. Trying to keep a long review short; $655 total for two nights in a semi-clean room that didn't include refreshment of bath towels/cloths or any housekeeping after night one was a bit disappointing. The claw foot bath tub is ok, but feels less than clean. (Showering is kind of gross since the curtains don't leave much room to keep your own rear end off of them, let alone whoever's rear was rubbing on them before.). The bed was great. The breakfast was ok. The coffee was ok. Overall the experience was sub-par compared to other historical venues that have accommodated us. I hope you have better luck than we did or look elsewhere.

Nice to have choices for breakfast (banana puddin' French toast was scrumptious and eggs were cooked to perfection!) Afternoon wine and cheese hour was great opportunity mix and mingle with some really nice folks. Creamy pimento cheese was yummy, fruit was fresh, and nice selection of beverages (wine, beer, and soft drinks). Look forward to coming back again.

It was such a great experience that I would recommend traveling to Hendersonville just to stay at the Elizabeth Leigh and eat at the restaurants on Main St. It's a very relaxing and classy small town. Main St. is a short 10 minute walk from the inn. When I walked into the inn, I was blown away by the elegant antique decor. The pictures online just don't do it justice. I stayed in the Blue Room. It had a large comfortable bed, two chairs, loveseat, wardrobe, and a few other various decor items. All the colors and patterns went together flawlessly. The bathroom was incredible. It had gold and white accents, but still went really well with the blue theme. There were plenty of fresh high quality thick white towels neatly rolled in a basket. The shower had an adjustable head. Water stayed warm the whole time despite showering at the same time as other guests. Breakfast was southern, filling, elegantly served, and tasted amazing. The first breakfast was eggs, bacon, and thick French toast. The next was a cream cheese, berries, and French toast casserole or 'hot dish' depending on where you're from. There was complimentary bottled water, wine, ice cream, homemade white chocolate macadamia cookies, homemade pound cake (which was wonderful), and beer. Now possibly the most enjoyable part, the rest of the property. The inn has a wraparound porch with big white rocking chairs that overlook the yard and the little street in front of the house. The backyard has a fountain, swing in front of a little waterfall pond, and corner area with seating. There are multiple places to have private conversations with your loved one(s). If you get the opportunity, getting to know the owner Cindy and her husband Mike will be the best part of your stay. The inn is an expression of Cindy and her dream to give guests a relaxing, but high quality environment to experience genuine southern hospitality in the gorgeous mountains of western North Carolina.

The hotel is dated for sure, but all of employees I've encounter have been friendly and helpful. Best Western or the individuals who own this one are in serious need of an update but I can't hold employees responsible for what the building and rooms lack. All I can tell you is rest the lobby, lobby bathroom and dining area is always spotless. I'm not sure what more they could do to the rooms. They're old, stuffy, and about as clean as they could get, under the circumstances. Their old people are great, the furniture and beds, not so much. Decide what matters to you and choose accordingly!

The beds are on the hard side, but the shower has hot water which is a plus. The blinds were broken in our room, so we couldn't open them without having to pull from the top. Then we couldn't close them. Which was fine since we didn't need them opened. This is our second time staying here from out of town, so I figured I'd leave a review this time. They are a decent price and have a great free breakfast. It's right off the main road so easy to get to and from our destination. Probably will not stay again due to the roach we found on the morning we were checking out.

They have an on line reservation system but I'd prefer a standard check in process just because my phone coverage wasn't that great at the rest stop--that's really the only reason for dropping a star. I did speak to a very nice lady who took my information via phone but I still had to fill in a on line form and send a copy of my drivers license once I got off the phone. Got all the information sent in and back--text indicated I was in cabin 27 and had the code for the door. No problem at all getting into the cabin. Cabin was spotless and the queen bed was very comfortable. The cabin had a small fridge and freezer compartment (so I was able to refreeze my cooler blue ice pack and cool down additional sodas for the next day of traveling) and a nice work desk. The bathroom had plenty of nice towels (lots more than I would use--my wife would have LOVED it). WiFi worked great and I had a much-needed break from the road. I would have liked to have information on some of the trails nearby because I would definitely consider coming back to this area. I would definitely stay here again as long as I was traveling without my dogs. I FaceTimed my wife and she really loved the place--she and her sister may come and stay here depending on what trails and other places are in the vicinity. An added bonus (for me) was that the exit from the highway had a Waffle House so I had a place to get breakfast before getting back on the highway.

The rooms suite included a separate bedroom and then the living/kitchen room. All very well-appointed and comfortable. The buffet breakfast staff was excellent, always ready for the 6:30 start. I would only recommend that they add some breakfast potatoes, bread for toast, etc. However, the selection was nice. The Lodge is near all of the sites, including Asheviile. A good center location. Not simply a smile and a friendly greeting, but a genuine concern for the quality of our stay, and a friendly word upon parting. It's hard to believe that this quality can exist at the attractive rates offered by this establishment. I have paid 3 or 4 times as much without the fantastic decor of the Lodge, much less the awesome staff ! My wife and I are considering a return visit.
