However, on non-holiday events, I have called a few hours in advance. Guest Services: Each time I reserve a room here, I always speak to a real person, probably the owner, always friendly. American. Security: Well-lit parking lot at night. It's located on a busy highway, but seriously, I don't sleep here. Room: For approx $65, what do you really expect? There is a coffee maker in the room with a round table and 2 chairs. The decor is from the 1950s, probably when the place was constructed. Cable t.v. but the screen was in the 13" range, I think. Seriously, I didn't stay long enough to watch it. Bathroom: Small & Cramped! The water pressure could use an update, but when you have nothing, it beats taking a pollock bath in the frigid Spring River!! Breakfast: I don't know if they serve breakfast & even if they do, I wouldn't eat it. They have an outdoor pool, but there was NO WAY I was getting it that! They get 1/4 of a Star for having a bed. This place is a step up from a one hour motel imho. Actually, I wish it were a 1 hour motel; that way, I could just pay for an hour to take a shower =) Oh, the view from the back of the place is a gem, but be forwarned....the train alarms ALL NIGHT LONG! Of course I'll rent here again. It is the closest/cheapest place to take a shower from where my land is located. However, if you are just visiting the area & need more in lieu of accommodations, I'd probably rent from the lodge on the hill or in neighboring Hardy town.

The ONLY thing going for this place is the view. The people that own this couldn't care less about updating or cleaning anything!! The first room they put us in had dead bugs in the windows, and the toilet hadn't been cleaned. The second room wasn't much better but then I noticed the box spring on my mom's bed that looked like something had been slaughtered on it or worse. Trains also go by every 30 minutes in the middle of the night. If you want a view of the river, eat up at the corner at the river bend. Sleep at the Mammoth Spring Lodge.

We had probably 20-30 family members staying here and it was a delight. It's not fancy, but there is a nice, clean indoor pool; there's a nice patio out back and a sizeable seating area (typically for breakfast - we took it over anyway). Super clean rooms (I saw, they actually do strip the bed down and wash/replace EVERYTHING), comfortable beds and nice hot showers. What more could you want in little ol' Hardy, AR? Not much methinks. Liquor store across the street and McD's as well for late night munchies (town shuts down around 9PM).

Example: hiring someone as a "Front Desk Receptionist" but demanding, expecting, harassing and brow beating the employee hired for reservations and guest service to put a bell and a sign at the front desk and instead of welcoming all who enter be banished to the laundry room to wash, dry and fold commercial laundry 40 hours a week. And when the receptionist is actually doing her job she was hired to do, take a reservation, the manager is anxiously pacing behind her to hurry her up with the call to get back to the laundry room. The laundry room has broken, outdated faulty appliances. They really should hire a laundry assistant, invest in updated equipment and let the receptionist focus on welcoming the guests. Also there is always a child who comes to work with his grandma and stays her entire shift and even helps her with her chores. Is that even legal? It's unprofessional for sure.

Rooms are always clean and it's a little different then a regular hotel enviroment. It's a homey fill with a living room and dining room and a big ole fashion wrap around porch that's a little rare now days! All in all I prefer the Ashley house as it's the only good hotel in this city... there's another one but its what they call a drug motel... Also the only 2 hotels in about a hour lol.
