Our power tongue jack stopped working right before a camping trip we were able to stop at Southland on our way and Mason and James were able to help us get it working. Dropped in with hubby to check out an RV we were interested in. We had called a few days before to make sure the model we wanted to see was on site. Karen reassured us it was. We met with Karen and she took us outside to see the RV. She left us to explore the RV and take our time looking at it. She answered all our questions, gave us brochures and also printed out more information for us. There was a small showroom inside the building that had several RVs. The service department was located in the other part of the building. Outside there were quite a few different RV models on display. Everything from roughing it to luxury motor homes. This RV dealership is one of the largest Airstream dealers in the southeast. read more

I been looking at my future retro camper or Class B RV at Southland RV while passing by on 85 South for years. And I finally decided to stop in. My grandsons and I was so excited to check out the Campers and RV selections they have. Coming in we was greeted with a welcome from Mrs. Stephanie and a gentleman standing with her. Other staff members was very nice and helpful as well. We were offered a bottle of water or soda from the complimentary fridge on this 100 degree weather. She asked how could she help. So I told her about my longing dream of having a Retro camper or a mid size RV. Mrs. Stephanie advised me too take a look at what they had on the property and then decide if that's what I really wanted. The grandsons and I was bouncing around from one RV to the next. I think I was more of a kid than they was. Southland has a several types of RV's and campers to choose from. Considering how hot it was we really couldn't enjoy all the RV's and campers like we wanted too. But I did see 3 that I really wanted to ask about. Running back to the office out of the sun. I spoke with Ms. Stephanie and told her that I will be back to speak with the proper person about the choses I made. She gave me some brochures on the styles I loved. My mom and dad, senior citizens, bought a brand new Airstream Bambi from Southland RV, and it has been nothing but trouble. Before they even used it, they noticed that the shower door did not fit correctly. They called, and it took forever for someone to come out and fix it. Then, they'd only used it a couple of times when they got a notice about a recall regarding the stove, something about it catching on fire. Well, my elderly parents panicked. They called them come once again and fix it, but someone told them it would be July before someone could come out! They already had several camping trips planned and paid for, and now they had to cancel the trips (without a refund). They are too old and can not drive to Norcross in a big city to bring their camper all the way back to be fixed (I hauled it home for them). Now, they are SO frustrated and just want to return their camper and get their money back. It should still be under warranty. It just breaks my heart for them... They need someone to come & get it & bring them a check. They have reached out to Airstream, only just got the runaround. I am very disappointed thatvthey would treat an Army vet and the daughter of a vet like this. Ironically, when I first researched this company, the founders said they took pride in customer satisfaction, and they'd do whatever it takes to make sure their customers were happy with the Airstream. It doesn't seem like the case now. My mom and dad always loved camping. After COVID, they just stayed home until they decided to spend their life savings on an Airstream so they could at least get out again and enjoy nature. Now, they can't go on vacation again for fear of their stove catching on fire.... Airstream needs to issue them a full refund! read more

We recently purchased a TAG and took if for a drive to the West Coast and back. Part of the $2,000 addition fees y'all tacked onto the original price tag was excused by an assurance that the camper would be thoroughly inspected and repaired, ready for use. The camper was not ready for use. 1. Even though we arrived with a ball mount/drop hitch, y'all sold us a different one which lowered the front of the camper. For over 6,000 miles we dragged this jack post over every significant rise in the pavement, bending the entire stack forwards. 2. The chain hooks which connect to the camper to the vehicle are too small. Y'all knew about this before the purchase because I pointed it out, and then y'all fussed over it. Your tech forced the hooks on somehow and it was the very devil to unhook them. I had to switch them out myself. 3. The part on the camper which attaches to the hitch ball was quite loose. Regular folks like us don't know how these things work and have to figure these things out. It was pretty unsettling to drive 2 hours home after purchase and listen to such racket and wonder if the whole thing was going to come loose! 4. The hand-held sprayer was missing; y'all promised to mail a replacement. It never arrived. Meanwhile y'all supplied a long sprayer which does not fit in the port, and must be removed and reinstalled every time water is use. How many times did we turn on water at the sink, but water came out the sprayer hose and flooded the kitchen floor, because we could not remember to install the sprayer every time! 5. Y'all charged us for a camper license plate. We waited. We called. It arrived a month and a half later -- a day before our vacatation departure, only it was a tag for some other type of vehicle. We had to fetch our own license plate from the DMV. 6. There is only one license plate screw. 7. We stopped a few blocks from y'all's business after purchase and noticed one of the break lights was not working. We had to order a replacement and install ourselves. 8. The large front window, said to have been newly replaced along with the side windows, will not stay open. I have no idea how to repair this. 9. Y'all sold me an adapter so that I could plug the camper into an outdoor receptacle at my house and charge the battery. No one explained that this must be a 30 amp circuit. Very confusing for a first time camper owner. 10. Vacation in this camper was such a bad experience, we no longer desire to use the camper ever again. Not sure how to sell the camper since Southland passed along NO PAPERWORK. All those papers we signed. You never gave us copies. The proposed solution was for y'all to take back the camper and for me to lose the $2000 (miscellaneous fees) tacked on to the initial sales price ($13,000 + $2,000). Only Southland gains from this. Only the customer loses. read more

Purchased a riverside metro 135 at Southland and brought it down to Las Vegas, Nevada. The purchase experience had been quite good , good level of any decent dealership. Then after 3 months water pump ceased to work and has been a nightmare trying to find someone to perform warranty work on the pump from local authorized dealers. Tried to call Southland and Riverside and couldn't find anyone who's willing to help. Asked for service manager and phone calls were not returned in both companies. Efforts were perfunctory at best. No customer service at Riverside. My own mistake to think dealer would honor Waranty like car dealership. read more

Great sales and service! We live on west coast and were shopping for a Class B rig. We saw an ad in RVTrader for an LTV wonder and sent inquiry which was promptly followed up by a reply from Chris. She said the unit was still available. We flew to ATL and Chris let us drive it and answered 100's of questions. The sales experience was honest and thorough. We felt no pressure, bought the rig . We went to an RV show in Atlanta in late January, 2019. My husband had researched several brands and was interested in three specific models. Southland had them all. We were approached by a very pleasant young man named Justin who was very knowledgeable about the models we liked. After sitting down in a model we were not even looking at to discuss the ones we came to see, we realized it checked all our boxes and then some. So, we bought it on the spot. We came to pick our travel trailer up a little more than a month later after it was prepped. The service guys did a great walk-through with us, detailing features and operating instructions. The kicker, though, was that Steven pointed out an external flaw WE HAD NOT EVEN NOTICED. He said it would be made right. We camped a few times and noticed a few more things that needed attention. The young man who accepted our rig when we brought it in was so friendly and attentive, assuring us each issue would be addressed. The exterior flaw couldn't be repaired in-house and had to be done at an automotive body shop. We took it in in mid-November and it was late February before we could pick it up. I'm not blaming Southland because they were at the mercy of the body shop, but we sure did miss not having our trailer that long. Any time I called for an update, they were obliging. Southland has a great inventory and is one of the higher-end dealerships with Airstream, Lance, inTech, Forest River, ALiner, and many more. It was a great experience to visit the shop and be able to roam the lot and check out what we might want in the future. We had also visited some other local RV dealers and were not given near the warm welcome and attention (without being hassled or overwhelmed by salespeople). Best dealer experience in 45 years of purchasing vehicles. Despite the sorry reputation of RV dealers generally, Southland RV's David Notheis and Dylan DeHoff put together a fair deal for us on the purchase of a hard to find trailer (NuCamp T@b 400), and gave us a fair price on our trade-in trailer. Cesar in Parts and Service, and Cole, the RV tech who gave us a thorough walkthrough of our trailer's features and also installed extras in our T@b, were professional and knew what they were doing. Justin Hainsel, the finance manager, worked through our purchase very professionally, and the business manager, Michelle, overnighted our title to us so we didn't have to pay a penalty in our home state of Mississippi for a late registration. After much research we were set on buying a 2018 Lance camper and trading in our smaller ultra light camper. The issue we were having is finding a Lance on the east coast. After hours of calls and research we learned that Southland had a model that we were interested in. My husband spoke with Kent on the phone to arrange for us to come and look to make sure it was what we wanted. Let me say they stepped up! Not only did they work with us over the phone to set up everything...once we arrived they gave us dedicated service to get us on our way that very same day. I called Chris with a slightly low cash offer for a 30K camper trailer and after checking with her manager, she called me back and said with a rude tone, NO, they can't take that..then slammed the phone down on me! I was so impressed that this is a chalet dealer that I drove the hour+ to have my chalet trailer serviced here. On the dropoff the staff were very courteous and helpful. I requested to be notified if the cost would exceed $500. I was told it would take a week to have the minor repairs completed. Three weeks later and $750. (without being asked if I would authorize the extra expense) I was informed I could pick up my trailer. The first reason I was given for the delay was that they had many "urgent" repairs, the second was that their sales department was very busy. When my husband went to pick it up, he said all the courtesy and helpfulness went out the window. He paid and left quickly. We will not again go out of our way for this service shop. read more

Not happy: took our Air Stream Sport 16 in for solar panel and DVD Player repair on 12March2021, work order172895. Picked up 12May2021. DVD player works for 12 to 15 minutes then stops. Tried several DVD's (one right out of the wrapper, still does not play. . Solar does not work. We are in Texas for several months. Expected more from a five rivet rated dealer. read more

Even though the part is not the same as the camper mfg, it fits perfect & received the part in a timely manner with shipping costs included. Prior to buying a used RV, I took it to Southland to have them inspect it from top to bottom at a cost of approx. $350. After getting a relatively clean report, I purchased the RV. Later I find that they missed a major issue with the RV and the water heater. I took the RV to them to for the repair. Zeb was very helpful and nice. I was advised that the repair would cost $400, and I agreed to have it repaired. The repair included a board and wiring the board. After getting the RV back we didn't use it for a few months. The first time we did use it the water heater overheated melting the insulation around the water heater and melting several pipes causing water to just pour from the side of the RV due to the melting of the pipes. I then had to take 2 days of my vacation in Fla to have it repaired (New Water Heater) by an RV mechanic down there for $1,350. After inspecting the old water heater, I was shown by the mechanic in Fla how the board (That Southland had installed) had been wired incorrectly causing the water heater to not shut off when it reached a certain temperature, so it melted everything around it and could have caused the RV to catch on fire had I not caught it in time. So I ended up paying them to inspect the RV in the first place, paying them to repair something that they missed in the inspection, and paying another RV Mechanic to replace the entire water heater due to the board not being wired correctly when installed. Zeb and Zeb Jr are very nice people. I believe they are good people personally but cannot use them again due to their track record with me so far. They are a locally owned family organization and I would have rather used someone like them than a chain place. But I cannot bring myself to take my RV back for any further business when I cannot rely that the work. read more

Sloppy workmanship AND over charged what was quoted. When questioned the cost, I was told 'sorry, that's what it is' (by the owner). The quote was from the owners son who also did the sloppy work. Customer interaction was horrible. Cost was cheaper than Camping World, but you get what you pay for. I had to complete the work when I got home and had to reseal some areas on the roof they did not seal properly, and that's probably because the work went right up to closing time and they couldn't get me out of there fast enough. I would not return to this shop for any work on my coach. read more

I purchased two campers from Southland. They are nice folks on the selling side but service is terrible. Phone calls are not returned, issues not resolved because "we are two busy and under staffed." I waited several months for a warranty issue to be addressed and was eventually told to call the mfg. The mfg handled in a few days. As they get bigger it is going to get worse because they just don't care after they deposit your check. read more
