That's a team led by fear, not respect. At her ripe age, it's embarrassing that she did not offer enough self reflection to look at me as an intelligent human who knows my cherished smile and knows when something went wrong. Instead, she saw me as someone with no degree in dentistry who couldn't possibly have a reasonable perception on the matter. It's clear she's surrounded by yes-men and failed to stand firm when her opinion was challenged. I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable with accountability, Dang. But Dr Hurd was recommended to me and I've had an ongoing issue with an ever-worsening FRONT tooth loosening after a facial injury many years ago. Dr Hurd was the first dentist I've seen who took this issue in hand, dealt with it immediately, and gave me a very positive outlook and prognosis. Not guaranteed but positive. I was expecting to lose this tooth either through eating or because it had to be removed. From the first interaction with this practice I was impressed. Insurance issues - resolved. Front desk - great. Nurses - Julie and Sneed (sp?) lovely, and Dr Hurd himself? So gentle, so caring, so kind, such a nice man. I've been to 'gentle dental' clinics and they don't know what they are talking about. Dr Hurd is an angel and he is the first dentist to whom I ever said "I could hug you" after my visit. On Monday, I spent 4.5 hours in the chair getting quite a few things done that were long overdue. Thanks to Dr. Liu and her assistant Sierra, I have to say that my session was the one of the most relaxed and pleasant experiences I've ever had in the dentist chair, or even at a doctor's office. The time flew by thanks to the amazing vibes and organic conversation. Dr. Liu was more than happy to answer all of my questions and she even took the time to do a few extra things that had not been originally scheduled in my appointment. I have all my wisdom teeth still, AND they are fully out and non-impacted. My old dentist hounded…read moreme to take them out, but since they're non-impacted, my dental insurance will not pay for IV anesthesia. Who wants to be awake and hear 4 of your teeth being cracked and cut out of your head (my old dentists plan of action)? Not I!! So I searched for a new dentist, and hallelujah I found Dr. Richardson! I don't think most people are too fond of dentist- its hardly relaxing, but necessary. Dr. Richardson knows this, and so she sits down with new patients to discuss their reasons for coming in, if you have any previous problems or negative experiences at the dentist, etc. This is a first- I don't think I have had any doctor, oral or otherwise, that sat and got to know me for more than 5 minutes at my first visit. Dr. Richardson is so friendly too, always making jokes. Her practice is much more technology friendly than my previous dentists- they take pictures of your teeth, use a laser to determine whether you really need to get a filling, and the best part of all- give you a mirror to hold during procedures if you want to see what they are talking about and doing inside your mouth. This really helped me understand why she and the hygenist were doing what they were doing. And although Dr. Richardson is not a fan of wisdom teeth, she did not pressure me to have them removed, only stated her rationale for recommending it, a welcome departure from my previous experiences. I received 5 fillings (those damn wisdom teeth!) and a full perio cleaning spread over 3 appointments. I didn't need anesthesia for the fillings, however Dr. Richardson offers laughing gas if desired. I'm keeping my dental coverage under COBRA just to go back and see Dr. Richardson in the future!

Even after adjustment recommended by my regular dentist, I lost a crown and ended up with a very painful fractured tooth that required extraction. I threw the appliance in the trash.
