I love looking around this place when I'm in a shopping mood but not looking for anything in particular. I just let the stuff tell me what I need to buy. This is a really large store with two floors. Upstairs is all clothing and accessories. Do yourself a favor and grab a basket when you go in. I walked past so many things because I didn't want to carry them around the store, but then forgot where I saw everything. The layout is slightly confusing, but there are tape arrows on the floor and "you are here" maps posted around. The prices do vary by booth. A few of the things I wanted seemed on the expensive side but a quick google search confirmed they were indeed accurate prices. Sometimes the cute stuff is expensive! The staff are also great about holding stuff for you at checkout until you're ready to checkout. This time around I only bought a small metal sleigh for Xmas decor, but there's about 50 more things I wanted to buy but didn't really need. read more

The selection here is bananas. I popped in for a minute for some last minute souvenirs and ended up spending an hour because there was too much to choose from. I don't even think I made it through the whole store. There were some really beautiful vintage pieces and I only wish I had more time to browse before they closed! read more

Really didn't expect it to be as big as it was! We ended up spending g several hours looking through all the booth and found some great items from jewelry to teapots to purchase. From the outside it doesn't look as big as it is. The quality of items is very good and prices mostly reasonable. Upstairs is a whole area of vintage clothes. We enjoyed our time shopping g and were especially glad the restrooms were tidy. Staff was very nice. Next time we are back in Indiana we'll definitely visit again! read more

Massive antique mall that seems small on outside but is bigger on the inside. Tons of great finds in here! My favorite antique store. I've been several times over the years, and I'm just now learning my way around it. It's so big. I would recommend taking at least 2-3 hours to look through all of the sections if you've never been/don't understand the layout. This is not exactly somewhere you can rush through. The staff is friendly and can/will offer to take your items up to the counter for you, so you can walk around hands-free. It makes the experience much easier without hauling a bulky item around. You can also call the front desk for help if you can't get an item and you're across the store. I've bought several high quality pieces here, from clothing to dishes to furniture. I appreciate that the items here are not cheap junk you'd find in a Goodwill. They're actually worth the money they're valued for, from what I've seen thus far. I also love the local goods they sell near the front, like the salt water taffy and candles. I recommend checking those out if you have time by the time you get all the way through the store. read more

Wonderful place! Any time we have extra funds my husband and I will take a trip up to this antique mall to go hunting! We usually look for vinyl records, pyrex, Halloween decorations, and paintings! They are always friendly and a perfect place to go if you want a truly local shop. A bunch of people come together to sell their antiques and collections to other collectors. Always kept very clean and have various restrooms throughout the place as you walk through. When I had a bad knee injury a few years back I was incredibly grateful for the chairs placed every few aisles. Perfect for anyone who needs a break while walking through. I personally tend to get a bit lost even though I've gone here so often and there are arrows on the floor, but my husband has the place memorized. As you're walking around you're greeted by friendly staff trading you clips for the items you're carrying so they can hold onto them for you. Just because you hand them over doesn't mean you are obligated to pay for that item- you're more than welcome to still think about it up until you go to checkout and make your final decisions. There is a very large variety of items here and multiple long term sellers that you will begin recognizing their stands the more you go. read more

This place has so much stuff that I'm still trying to remember where I saw everything. The building, mostly one story, is seemingly endless! I knew it was a lot bigger than what it appears from the front when I saw floor maps posted and phone numbers posted for assistance (I assume for help if you get lost too! ha!) Anyway, they have lots of parking and there is no single best way to explore. Some of the wider rooms have rows of glass cases laid out so that you don't have to rubber neck back and forth. I liked that! There were other booths and rooms where you simply walk in and look around. But even here, there are places where you think it may be a closed room but it leads to another section of the building. I was impressed that there was a lot of cool antique furniture scattered throughout the complex. There were also a wide variety of antique collectibles too. I know they have some lower quality stuff, but I found the percentage of cool things to junk to weigh heavily on the cool side. Just be sure to allow yourself lots of time to wander through. Great place for getting out of the house and social distancing. They require masks to shop and they have hand sanitizer thru out the building. All the employees also wearing masks. Lots of booths having sales right now. Any where from 20 to 50 percent off some booths. I think one was 70 percent off. Don't be afraid to ask for a discount on higher prices items. They can say no or you might got some off. read more

One of the few remaining authentic antique malls that hasn't turned into a trash trail of country crafty crap like the one on the far west side on 40, Gilley's. My oldest daughter took me here as an early Mother's Day outing last Tues. We had a ball! We couldn't believe how much there was to see. Some prices good, some not so good, but that's true anywhere. There are several "individually owned" stores in this one big building. It wasn't too crowded, so we were able to take our time, yet we still felt like we didn't see everything. The only thing I would say is on a Tues. there weren't a lot of the store owners there, so no one to barter with. Just as well for us. My daughter would have been mortified. LOL read more

I was here a few days ago while passing through towards the Indy Airport, so I stopped on by. The staff was pleasant and their is thousands of feet of antique space. Most of it real antiques not junk that you could get at the thrift store like so many others these days. I bought a nice reproduction piece at a good price that I will resell here in Denver. This place is HUGE! I never knew it was here. It's endless! There are so many amazing booths with great vintage and antique things. It's a thrifters dream. It is a lot for your eyes to take so plan some extra time when going so you can really enjoy looking at everything. The prices vary from booth to booth since different people rent space. Some things are greatly priced and some are way overpriced. Just know your range and what you're willing to spend. But I'll definitely be back! read more

A massive antique store calls for a massive review! Just kidding, they were actually the most organized antique store I've ever seen and although big, it's a great place to go back to and visit in sections. I was only in there for an hour and looked through their show cases to the left of the store. I'm so glad I did. This store isn't just your "grandmas collect." It's not run down items either. Everything was so clean and in great condition. The sellers definitely should thank the sweet elder man that works there. He knows a lot of the back story to the sellers stories. One in particular I had my eyes glued to was DC and Marvel comic show cases. I'm not talking all modern pieces. I'm talking statues from '92, dolls and action figures from the 60's. That's just a prime example of how deep the sellers are with their merchandise and collections. Very knowledgable owners too. The whole store had toys, clothes, furniture, glass and crystal, ceramic and China dinnerware, movies, jewelry. The list goes on. As well as my visits. A little pricy but its worth going back for that rare item. read more

Love this store!! The place is absolutely huge and if you practically run through the place with thirty second pitstops at each booth you can do it in about two and a half hours. This is my second time here and my boyfriend's first antique store!! He was really entertained by everything and the only thing we bought was for him, actually. The staff seems to be a little unfriendly to younger people like myself - which I get, kids break things - but it doesn't add to the atmosphere any. It's a good experience regardless and there's tons and tons of stuff for anyone and everyone there! The entire upstairs area is now refurbished furniture from one dealer, it looks like. Previously it had more booths if I remember correctly but now it's just very trendy, remade furniture. There's not very much up there but it's cool to look at all the same. read more

Southport Antique Mall is a great place to spend a winter day. You can browse for hours in there, without ever going outside. Be careful though -- this place is like a catacomb and I actually got lost in the maze of antique booths! As with any antique mall or store, the selection will vary based on when you visit Southport Antique Mall. I am definitely not an expert antiquer, but went in here to find some dainty floral teacups and saucers for a friend's tea party bridal shower (see my review of the Arbor Cafe & Tea Room for more). The staff at the mall were very helpful, and directed me to an appropriate booth that had a plethora of antique dishes to meet my needs. The price wasn't too bad either, and since I was buying a fairly large quantity and the booth was actually owned by the mall's owner, I was able to negotiate for a better price. I was very happy with the experience overall! If you happen to be looking for any vintage clothing items or accessories for your Halloween costume, you might want to stop in the Southport Antique Mall -- I noticed several Victorian period dresses, 20's and 30's veiled hats and costume jewelry from many eras. I will definitely be going back to the mall on a dreary winter day to pass the time and find some treasures! read more

This place had lots of stuff, but nothing I wanted. I love looking at vintage clothing, decor and furniture but this place seemed overflowing with old coke bottles, woven baskets and creepy dolls. I'm sure this appeals to some, but it wasn't for me. I enjoy Midland downtown much better. read more

I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep the news to myself for just a little while, but that wouldn't be in the spirit of yelpfulness so here goes: The downstairs is a good antique mall. It's a lot like the downtown one on Michigan street, but less crowded and I'd say a little more variety. Ok, here's the amazing news: the entire upstairs floor is going to be converted into a vintage clothing boutique in the next few months. The lady that owns the vintage clothing stall told me when she saw me wandering around with a couple of her dresses (10 bucks a pop). Can you say OH MY GOD? Super cute clothes. read more

I recently got into antiquing when I was introduced to the concept of it from a friend this past fall. I can't say I have been to every antique store in the area, but of the couple I have visited, I think Southport is the best around here. There are a zillion stalls in this place! Yes, there are a few too many weird freaky old doll collections, and an entire stall devoted to Coke-a-colla, but you will have your share of weird things like this at any given antique place. Have I mentioned how huge it is (thats what she said..)?! Whenever I visit I notice stall owners have added or changed their inventory which is nice to see each time I visit. They have higher end stuff, like really nice furniture, and then some cheaper things that won't break the bank and are fun and useful (to me, anyway...). The people at the register are really helpful. They will float throughout the store and offer to hold your items up front when you're hands are full. This last visit I was happily surprised when the clerk who was helping me with my finds had some really unique information about the candlesticks I had found - I felt like a guest on Antiques Roadshow! I did not have this experience at other antique stores in Indy before..... They will discount some items and purchases so ask at the register before handing over your wallet. Excellent antique mall. There is so much to see here. You can actually get lost. It doesn't look so big from the outside, but the inside goes on and on. It twists and turns every which way. There are things that are affordable and then there are things that are very expensive. I guess if you want it bad enough you'll pay it. I know quite a bit about antiques since my brother is an auctioneer and has dealt in antiques since we were kids. Some people are way high. They do pay rent for their space, but come on. You can't make money if you're overpriced. Be reasonable and sell more. That's what I believe. It's a fun place. All booths have a sale today. read more

We LOVE Southport Antique mall. The place is huge with tons of different vendors. There's a little something for any type of person and if you plan on stopping by, come prepared to spend a couple hours walking around here. Instead of having shopping carts, they have a few staff members walking around the place with labelled clothespins. They give you a clothespin and each one says a different word which corresponds with a cubby hole they have marked behind the counter. You can give any items you've picked up to the staff member and they'll take it up to the front for you. The weekend we went, there was a huge yardsale style setup in the back and a storewide sale of 10-50% off all booths. There is one thing I'd like to mention though... as we all know, humans are prone to making mistakes.. Their system for tallying up your total is not very effective. They tape each individual tag from your items to flash cards then go to the register to enter in the prices. We didn't notice it while there, but once home it became very apparent that they missed a couple of items when putting in the prices. As a customer, you may be thinking "hey, good deal. I'm not complaining about a mistake that works in my favor.", but for the business that could he detrimental. For example, the two items they missed on our purchase were worth 5.00 and 30.00 respectively. If that is consistently happening throughout the day every day, they would end up being short hundreds of dollars and owing the respective vendors all that money out of pocket. I urge you to check your receipt before leaving (as we will be doing any time we drop in from now on) for the sake of them being able to continue to run their business and host these vendors that offer us their amazing antique treasures. read more

Great place to go antiquing. Came here with my wife just to look around, hadn't really planned on buying anything but we left with quite a bit. Not only does this place have things ranging from glassware, comics, records, decorations, collectors items, furniture, etc. but the actual mall itself is huge! We spent an hour and a half walking through but could easily have doubled that. Everything here seems fairly priced as well, and they do have some really cool items. If you're looking for somewhere to go antiquing not too far from Indy this is definitely a stop you should make a stop at. read more

I really love coming here with my mom and sister. It is gigantic, and there are always new things to see. The staff is really helpful and takes your purchases to the front counter as you are shopping so you don't have to carry them around. We always find cute glassware - drinkware, bowls, vases, etc. They also have great furniture and decorations. And trinkets galore. read more
