SoBro Vintage Market is probably right on that line between what would be considered SoBro and Broad Ripple, though it undeniably carries a SoBro vibe. In case there's any doubt, this is a vintage market. The vibe tends to change here from visit to visit, though I'm not going to say I actually frequent the place because, quite honestly, it's not always particularly wheelchair friendly. Some of this stuff is vintage enough that I don't want to take a chance on breaking it with my chair. You can get art here. You can get music here. You can get clothing here. You can get some furniture here. If you look up this place on social media, you'll see that they actually have "& Curiosities" in their name - that's appropriate because they have quite a bit that I would simply call "curiosities." Prices range from "great deal" to WTF?" It seems like when I've been here, I've always seen quite a bit that falls into mid-century. That's kind of appropriate considering an awful lot of SoBro would fall into that era (including my home - a 1955 California ranch). When they are open, they are known for putting some items outside (which is how I finally stopped - I saw a wonderful retro dining room table that was to die for). People are friendly and knowledgeable. I honestly don't know a lot about the place, other than I find it to be ultra-cool, and I've never stopped by that I didn't see something I'd want (and will sometimes get). If you're into the vintage scene, SoBro Vintage Market is definitely worth a visit. If you have mobility issues or are a wheelchair user, just be aware that sometimes it gets pretty tight inside and you'll want to exercise caution.

We now check it out on a regular basis and always find some unique items. Prices are excellent, especially when compared to other vintage shops. The true treasure of the sho are the people that run it. They are so delightful and always make you feel welcome. Many times they have helped add to a collection by offering suggestions and remembering us when we came in. Though we don't always buy something we always learn something. Their knowledge and helpfulness is fantastic. I appreciate all the unique serving pieces and kitchen things available. My husband loves the record collection. Give this place a try... The clerk was friendly, answered questions and laughed with customers. There's a wonderful small town vibe here. It was nice to see a lot of actual antiques. Many areas are arranged by color, making dramatic (instagram worthy) displays. They have a lot of glassware and ceramics, some primitive, jewelry, but not much furniture. I like to look around and reminisce about things my grandmother may have used. I thought most of the prices were reasonable. Since the building is old, there are a several uneven walkways that are marked. We had trouble finding parking, as all the street spaces were full. Yellow Moon is well worth a visit if you like antiques.

This quaint little shop was very nice and cute, and had some nice local merchandise and unique nicnacks. I walked through the shop and could tell it had a nice selection of merchandise and the value of the price appeared to be very good. I went into a separate room that had 50% off merchandise, and found a few things that caught my eye which I ended up purchasing. They were kitchen coasters and they were very decorative and attractive looking. The service at the shop was Ok. The woman behind the cashier table was very nice and said hello when I first walked into the shop. When I checked out, she was very gracious and wrapped my kitchen coasters very carefully so that they would not break. Fivethirty Home is a neat shop with great merchandise, so if you are in downtown Zionsville, you should check it out. It is very nice and worth browsing around.

I was worried that the…read morelittle shop had left Zionsville, but discovered they moved down the street to Bender Square in a much larger location. The new location has lots of nooks and crannies for setting up interesting displays and they do. We stopped by while out doing some Christmas shopping and found the store packed with shoppers. Good to see people supporting these small independent shops. They carry about 1/3 vintage items like globes and suitcases and nicely painted furniture pieces, about 1/3 local artisan decor mostly Indiana themed (which I love) and then about 1/3 reproduction vintage filler such as wrapping paper and trendy letter art. In addition she carries a line of high quality chalk paint and supplies. They teach classes on how to use the chalk paint (which I've been meaning to take). The pieces that she finishes are gorgeous - mostly little side tables. Today they carried a lot of Christas themed items. The owner is very friendly and happy to provide advice on painting. She is indeed gifted. The prices on the chalk paints are a little high so I haven't taken the plunge yet until I know I have time to complete a project. I see many customers coming to buy the paint and supplies so they must be happy. There is street parking available and a free lot across the street but it can be a bear to find a spot on a Saturday. They are not opened on Sunday. I'll be back and perhaps soon I'll take one of her classes.

This is my happy place. Antiques, historical buildings, friendly staff, beautiful garden- what's…read morenot to love? We stopped in today, beckoned by the "Antiques" flag swaying in the breeze. A smiling clerk welcomed us and explained the three buildings holding antiques and lamp shades. Brown's has been in business since 1945! I was drawn to the Clay City Pottery with beautiful colors. (Clay City Pottery is local, made on the west side of the state.) My husband honed in on several old political buttons. The antique furniture is lovely - mostly colonial. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of the antiques. A small cottage is filled with traditional style lampshades and a few more antiques. The garden that connects the buildings is lovely and peaceful. Old grinding stones are used for the walkways. There are several flights of stairs and the walkways are probably difficult to maneuver in a wheel chair or with a stroller. Street parking is free.

It can be physically challenging to walk up rickety stairs to the attic of two different buildings and the paths between the buildings are uneven so just be aware of that.
