    Dumplings

The food, service and ambiance was superb. We got the dumplings for an appetizer and then split the truffle shuffle and chicken pizza. The drinks were delicious as well, and very prompt service. We will definitely return!

Formerly The Office Lounge, SouthPort Kitchen + Bar opened recently in Rye on US Route 1 north of Breakfast Hill Rd. This local restaurant and bar is fairly cozy with dim lighting, TVs, offering seating up at the full service bar and table seating along the walls and windows and high top seating. There is also an outside patio too. The place has been pretty busy since they opened in early June 2024. As for food, the menu offerings include a variety of shareables, salads, smashburgers, sandwiches, shrimp tacos, pork belly bao buns, wood fired pizzas, dinner entrees (pasta dishes, seafood, steak frites, risotto, ribs, cauliflower steak). The pricing is moderate high. For drinks, they offer 6 beers on draft, bottle & can beers, wine, cocktails, martinis, mixed drinks and after dinner drinks. After spending time near the beach, I headed over to SouthPort Kitchen + Bar for some food. However, since it was after 9pm, the kitchen was essentially closed and they were only serving their pizza menu and drinks from the bar. I took a seat at the bar and got an ice water. I decided on the Ricotta Be Killin Me Pizza ($17 plus tax), which came out hot within 13 minutes after ordering. The 10" pizza was topped with pink vodka sauce, crumbled sausage, cheese blend, caramelized onion, post oven ricotta, fresh basil on top of a firm thin crust with round slightly charred edges. I enjoyed 5/8 of the pizza since there were plenty of tasty rich toppings on the pizza and they gave me a box. The check was $17.89 (cash)/$18.45 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, the pizza was pretty good and the atmosphere was very loud. I would stop in again earlier in the evening for one of their dinner entrees. I really wanted to try the Pasta Alla Vongole or the Chicken Parm Alla Vodka. I now know the vodka sauce at SouthPort Kitchen is the real deal, unlike a "jeweler owned" NY style pizza place in Derry which sells a Vodka Chicken Parm on their menu, but uses ordinary marinara sauce. I haven't been back there since after a staff member talked down to me after I questioned them about no cream in the sauce mix. El Presidente should really visit here once there are more reviews.

The food, service, drinks and atmosphere are great. The sticky rib appetizer set the stage for the rest of the tasty meal, the shrimp and grits was flavorful and very satisfying. We topped our dinner with coffee and tiramisu.

Great spot for dinner. Nice tavern and the food is very good. It's a small venue, popular and gets very busy so make a reservation!

One word: LOUD. So loud you can't hear the person talking next to you. The servers and bartenders are aware and apologetic

I've sat @ the bar & have also sat @ a table inside the bar area. The service can be a hit or miss. I've found it to be a little slow the other night when my friend & I were @ the bar. The female bartender's were nice but could be a little more attentive. Last mth my SIL, Mom & I sat @ table in the bar area for lunch & the waitress never came back after serving our food to check on things. They have a room way in the back that my SIL & friend's were playing darts in that was kinda small with all the teams in there, it seemed like its a function room. I wish I had grabbed a piece of confetti cake to go as it looked amazing!! The sink in the ladies room seems to be uneven as the counter collects water from ladies washing their hands & collects on top so be careful not to lean into the counter or your shirt will get wet. The parking lot is kinda small so when its busy it may be hard to find a spot close by.

I'll post the dishes ordered in the spirit of being brief (and needing to get back to the hospital) but I genuinely highly recommend if you love a friendly pub/bar, a good selection of 'off the menu' appetizers and mains, and well poured drinks!

Statey has just recently opened up, which replaced State Street & while I live in Vegas now this definitely was on my list of stops while home visiting. I finally got to go in last night to check it out. It is very big & kinda open but not too open around the dinning room area. They have plenty of seating on the floor & around the bar. It was great to see Mo a long time bartender still working for them. They were having karaoke night & they have a nice little stage out back for the "maybe soon to be famous singers to perform on". It started @ 7/8pm (can't remember) & went to midnight. No cover charge to get in. It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! I will be back before heading home & on my future trips back to NH!! So happy that they brought State Street back!!!! Thank You!!!
