Just got back into town and stopped in for something different and a cold drink around 3:20 in the afternoon. The parking lot was only about a quarter full, so it definitely wasn't busy. We were told to take any table since they were all clean. As the server handed us menus, she noticed the table actually wasn't clean, apologized, and wiped it down. No problem--things happen. Unfortunately, from that point on we were completely ignored. For more than 15 minutes no one came to our table, even though servers walked nearby several times. Meanwhile, people who came in after us were getting drinks and placing orders. Rather than make a scene, we simply left. If the place had been busy or short-staffed we would understand, but that didn't appear to be the case. Being ignored like that is unacceptable. Hopefully this was just a fluke and not the new norm. read more

Was here on a business trip for Oncology. The service was amazing, the waitress greeted with a smile. Seated right away and order taken on the spot. The facility have that New Hampshire's vibe with all those wood walls to wood stalls. Only con was the black Atlantic salom. I met a couple of former co-workers and now friends who live in the area for dinner on a Tuesday night. We happened to be there for trivia night which we did not get involved in. We began with the Bavarian pretzel and an order of the Brussel sprouts. I am a big fan on both and neither disappointed. What is better than a huge salty pretzel and an ice cold beer? The Brussel sprouts were tasty and the portion was generous. My co-workers decided just to enjoy a couple of cold beers and the appetizers. I ordered a Bullwinkle burger without the Bullwinkle sauce. I've had better burgers and it did not come out the way I ordered it, medium well. The French fries were cooked fresh and not greasy. I added some salt and pepper to my liking. During the good weather months, there is plenty of outdoor seating. It is an expansive menu with lots of options to satisfy your hunger and thirst. The prices for the beer and food were reasonable. The service was very good and friendly. Parking is available in their private lot but it will get filled to capacity easily. read more

Popped in as a group of 6 and found bar seats open. Tabitha was on her A-game and got us drinks and took our food orders. The tabouli and hummus appetizer was awesome! Great pita and fresh olives, pepperoncinis, and tomatoes. The hummus was great. For my meal me and my gf both got crispy chicken salads and they are a good deal with the big portions. All sauces and dressings are made in house too, the Ranch was A+. My uncle enjoyed his reuben. My aunt enjoyed her nachos. My gram and other aunt enjoyed pepperoni pizza and a house salad. My wife and I stopped in last night as we were staying across the street at the Hampton Inn. The place was hopping busy! We chose to sit at the bar, so we can kabitz occasionally with the staff. My wife found a really nice boysenberry sour that she loved and I ordered their 603 double IPA. We tried a different pizza this time than our normal, the blue buffalo chicken pizza. Our pizza came out relatively quickly, and was absolutely delicious! We really appreciated our server and her friendly & professional service as well as her information about the Exeter area. There's a lot of worst places you could go to, we've been to them, this is pretty good! read more

Just had lunch at Thirsty Moose Taphouse in Exeter. This was the first time I had eaten inside. This particular TM is a little smaller in size than the others. Their outside area is much larger than the others, but today was a cool, rainy day in December. There were 6 people in our group, 3 adults & 3 kids. We were seated at a high top table and had plenty of room. Our server brought us water promptly & took our orders shortly thereafter. There is a full bar with an extensive draft beer selection focusing on regional brews. I enjoyed a helles lager from the Von Trapp brewery. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla which was very good with a generous amount of meat. It came with sour cream & salsa on the side. Two of the kids shared a pretzel which came with 2 dipping sauces and a kids pizza that was so large-an adult would have trouble eating the whole thing (half was taken home). The others had Cheeseburger sliders, Chicken and Waffle Sliders and a salad-all were satisfied with their meals. Our service was very good. The restaurant is lively with many televisions showing sporting events. There is ample parking. Recommended without hesitation. read more

For pub fair -- even "elevated" pub fair -- Thirsty Moose is really, really expensive. We had a table of four, one appetizer, no alcoholic beverages and our check was $115 before tip. The poutine fries were tasty, but also nothing special. Fries from a bag and brown gravy from a can. The fish in the fish and chips was almost certainly fish sticks from a box. They were big, plump, tasty fish sticks, but fish sticks nevertheless. The chicken wings were probably the most egregious bad value on the menu. Even if you buy a dozen, the wings work out to $3 per wing. The sauce on the Caribbean Jerk wings tasted like 2 tbsp of jerk spice in a bottle of corn syrup. So sweet that my son couldn't eat more than 2. We left $12 worth of wings on the plate. The waitstaff was friendly, but also a little distracted. They spend a lot of time hanging around the bar, chatting up their regulars. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. For the same money, the food is much better at Tailgate Tavern or the Railpenny in Epping. read more

Could have been a higher score but the level of service on my third consecutive visit Kaylee was one of the most obnoxious and condensing server I have ever experienced. A person like that should not be in the service industry. First two nights we had a great experience with Summer and another young lady who helped us. "The sever who was next up doesn't serve those tables". WTH?. Why is that our problem? We reluctantly ate inside. We should have left. I ordered a virgin mary. I got a glass of the mix with no tomato juice. WTH? Two of us ordered fish and chips. Overcooked and the Tartar sauce had mustard mixed in. WTH? How do screw up Tartar sauce? A third person ordered the pulled pork sandwich. She asked for just the pulled pork only no bun. Our server said all she could do was make it a wrap. WTH?
