Don't believe what you read. They are one of the worst businesses to deal with and are thieves. They towed my car and then couldnt figure out what location it went to. When i finally got to the right location the two guys there were rude and lacked common decency. When I told him I could pay cash, he lowered the price. Probably took some of the cash for himself. I wish I could give this company negative stars. JAMES the driver is absolutely without a doubt the most rude person I have ever met. Threatened to call the police on my friend while she was sitting in her towed car trying to call her dad, who is the registered owner, after being asked to call him. He then took us out of the gate and said he had other calls and to call the dispatcher when her father arrived. We called after, they sent him back, and he did a u-turn in the parking lot and left. We called again and then he came back after the dispatcher confirmed he had no other calls. This is douchebaggery at it's finest. Great Professional Company! My daughter was stuck in an intersection on 10/18/16 and AAA had malfunction with internet so it was taking awhile to respond. The Officer called this company and they towed her out of the intersection because they were already near by as a service to the public because it was so dangerous. Very quick and courteous service. A lot of towing companies have deservedly bad reputations, but Southside Towing is staffed by friendly people who go out of their way to help. Even people who have had their cars towed for parking illegally will find that Southside treats them fairly. My husband forgot he had parked our car out in front of our home ONE night and our tyrannical neighborhood patrol had our car towed. When we called Southside they immediately informed us that if we waited until the next day, (Monday) it would be cheaper to pick up. Unlike other companies, they did not demand that the payment be in cash, but accepted credit or debit cards. When I went to pick up the car they were very prompt and even apologized for our trouble! Very classy considering that they were only doing the job that they were contracted to do and have no discretion or information when picking up a car. As for our homeowner's ASSocaition and Patrol One though....That is a different story! read more

Do not trust this company when it comes to handling basic communication. I was in a car accident back in July and had my car towed here by AAA. It sat there for about a week and a half before the body shop was able to pick it up. It was all paid in full and I assumed everything was fine. Then at the end of August I received a letter from the DMV saying that Southside Towing had put a lien on my car and if I did not pay it in full within 10 days they would repossess my car. I immediately called the tow company and asked what the hell was going on. I gave the woman my information, and she told me that the debt had been paid in full and to ignore the letter. I confirmed with the woman MULTIPLE times that there was nothing else I needed to do on my end and that everything had been taken care of. She assured me that I did not need to worry about it. By the middle of September I realized my registration renewal had not come (I renew my registration in November). By early October I still hadn't received it and decided to call the DMV. The DMV proceed to tell me that I couldn't register my car because there was a lien on it. I told them the tow company informed me it was all paid. They told me the tow company never sent in any proof of that over and that they had to get something from them before I could register my car. I proceed to call the tow company, who, instead of apologizing, decides to blame it on the lien company. I call the lien company who tells me the tow company has to sign a form that I have to take in to the DMV. Both Southside Towing and Clear Choice Lien were completely uninformed as to what the actual process was. I had to play telephone between the companies for at least an hour just to make sure the lien company faxed the necessary form over. I was told someone would contact me the next day about picking up the necessary form to take into the DMV, so naturally no one called me. I called Southside Towing to ask if the form had come in and it did (thanks for letting me know!!) and that I had to drive to their corporate office to pick it up. I then had to sit in their corporate office for an hour because they forgot to get the form notarized. I now have to take time off of work to go into the DMV to get this whole mess straightened out. There has now been a record of a lien on my car with the DMV for months without my knowledge. To completely ignore this and take no accountability is grossly incompetent and unprofessional. If there was something that I needed to do on my end I should have been told this in AUGUST when I called the first time. Obviously if your car gets towed you don't really have a choice of where it goes, but if you can, I would avoid doing business with them at all costs. read more

Mike was amazing! My poor car had to be towed while I was at the mall and I was freaking out because I had never had to do this but he made the entire process much easier on me. He was very reassuring and also efficient which was huge for me. Because my car was in a mall parking lot, I figured it'd be difficult to get it out but Mike made it look seamless. I'm so glad AAA sent Southside Towing and very grateful that Mike was the one who helped me out. I'm actually pretty bad at parking my car in reverse so getting it into my parking spot was hard for me but Mike was really patient and helped guide me in. Big learning experience for me! Luckily my car got to my apartment complex safely and in a very timely manner and I was able to enjoy the rest of my night. There was no disabled parking available and I wasn't aware that state law doesn't mandate disability parking privileges on private property. OK so the girl on the phone put me on hold for 10 minutes today and then I decided to hang up and call back and she immediately helped me? I gave her my info and asked why it was towed and etc... I explained to her that I had surgery on the 16th and didn't even notice my missing car till today 20th. My car was towed from a spot that I've been parking in for 7 years! The total was $397 and there was no negotiating the price even in my circumstances. I ask her where she is located and what time I could send a family member to get my car. She had me E-mail her saying I give permission to my brother to get my car for me since I couldn't drive. When my brother went to the location... she gave us the wrong location. When my brother got to the right location (same girl as the phone)she asks for me to now hand write a letter and take a picture of it and email it to her? OK. so after an hour of going back and fourth with 3 different E-mails because she needed more than a picture and email and text of the same letter? We finally got my car back and paid $397.00 You might ask me why I'm giving this location a 5 star, I can't blame this girl... She was a women in her mid 30's and worked at a towing company! She was disrespectful and uneducated and had no customer service or people skills. I have worked in customer service and sales for 10 years (I'm 25) and I would never act or treat any client/ customer that way regardless to how much I love my job. She couldn't even correctly speak on the phone. So I give this girl a 5 star... because I feel bad for her. This is all she has accomplished in her life. I couldn't imagine what her life is like. Thank you for all your help! I hope you have a reality check somewhere down the line and realize you can be a happier person as well as a more professional person. We were celebrating my sons birthday, and had his gift hidden in our vehicle. We were parked in our space (20 minutes) not blocking any other vehicles, and a tow truck backs up to our vehicle. He says I'm parked in a fire lane if there are more than two vehicles in our parking spot. First, I did not know this, and we are not people who abuse the rules, and we thought we were still in our space. Unfortunately, it did not matter and my son's birthday was ruined and his mother was devastated, as she worked very hard to make his day special. He claimed he had received a complaint, but I have seen him making rounds in our community nightly, after business hours. Now it makes sense why. He took us for $97, and caused emotional upset. I will be requesting a dispatch log, because I was in and out of this space and had just returned minutes before. I will be contacting the attorney generals office regarding this business and preying on innocent mistakes. I will also be writing a formal letter to our community owner. read more

I just got my car towed tonight, I wasonly atthe business for ten minutes. I parked at an industrial parking lot and I walked to the front of the business and in the time it took me to walk back to my truck it was gone. Nobody cared to look around to look for a driver because they would have saw me easily. I was at a company that uses the parking lot, I was a customert. When I called southside I was told it would cost over three hundred dollars to get my car back, it was towed in the same city about an hour ago. I towed cars in my younger years and this is a rip off. I for one will not allow southside to reem me, sure I'll pay to get my truck back but I will see them in court, there are plenty of witnesses, one guy told me that he works there and his car was towed, he said he got it back but not without allot of hassle. I don't like wasting the courts time with something like this but what's wrong is wrong. If more people would stand up for themselves this might not happen as much as it does. If you made a mistake and parked wrong the okay pay a fair amount not $300.00 an hour, but if your car was towed and you did nothing wrong as what happened with me don't just give in fight for whats right. read more

HAVING YOUR CAR TOWED SUCKS. in general it does. my car was totaled in a freeway accident and i was taken from the scene unconscious. woke up two days later wondering where the f**** my car was. turned out the police never bothered to notify any of my family where it had been taken- therefore we didnt know we were incurring DAILY STORAGE FEES.the police also told my insurance company it was my fault after issuing it as a 'hit and run' and also never returned my license after ticketing me for 'refusing to show id' because i was only half conscious and unresponsive at the scene....but cant review the orange police dept on yelp unfortunately! if we had been told it cost over 100 per day for the car to sit in the lot, we wouldve gladly had it removed. however the guy was super helpful and when i was able to make it out there he personally gave me some buyers numbers to get some cash for the piece of metal. im sure he gets a kickback from those guys but i wouldnt have known where to start. the charges did seem really high even for a tow yard but at least he helped me get some money for it! read more
