My car broke down on 405 Frwy, AAA sent Southside Towing to rescue. The driver, Shawn called before arrival, making sure he got the correct location and checking if I was safe. He got there before the estimated time and towed my car home. He was checking the car what was wrong and suggested not to buy new battery before checking the alternator. He was right, the alternator was out! 2002 Denali needed a jump. Called AAA. Harry came out and knocked it outta the park. Not only did he do the easiest thing (actually jumping the truck with the necessary higher voltage) but he showed me a couple tricks that help with the jump when doing it yourself, explained to me how to ensure it wouldn't immediately recur, gave me some information regarding the vehicle, the battery, and some local trustworthy services, but did it all with a smile and great attitude. Harry let me know he cared about me and what he does. And to end the episode a neighbor came out and said "Harry's the best! I wouldn't use anyone else!" And I agree 100%!!! read more

I got my car towed a few days ago while vistting a friend in costa mesa, by a young man named James from southside, he did his job very well. I know i messed up and parked in a fire line. I came out and James asked me if i was the registered owner, i showed him that i was. So he chargered me $87 bucks to take my car off his truck. He was professional even apologize for towing my car. He was just doing his job i know this. I will always call southside when in need of a tow. Tow companies need more divers like him. read more

I am a manager of multiple commercial real estate properties throughout Southern California, and began to use Southside Towing at one of my locations in Newport Beach. I called one evening last week around 7:00 p.m. to have a vehicle which had been abandoned on site towed away. I called Southside and provided the address, and received a call within five minutes from James #15 giving me a status update and an ETA. He was on site within 15 minutes, and was very nice and easy to deal with. The vehicle was not an easy car to tow, as it was in a bit of an unusual location and had the emergency brake still on. James walked me through each step he was taking as he was doing it, helping me to fully understand the process and reasoning. My truck broke down in the fast lane near triangle square in Costa Mesa. I turned on my flashers and tried to start my truck but no luck. Within 5 minutes, Travis from Southside Towing saw me and came over to my truck. He offered to pull me out of traffic. He did not even hesitate or ask me for money at that point - he was simply interested in getting me and my truck out of traffic. He pulled the truck into an adjacent parking lot, asked what I wanted to do and then told me how I could use my AAA card to get him to complete a tow to the dealership. Travis is incredibly pleasant, safe and knows what he is doing. It is usually not under the best circumstances when you need a tow, but if you do, call Southside and ask for Travis!! read more

After I accidentally locked myself out of my car at a gas station, I was forced to wait 60 minutes for roadside assistance to help me. After 15 minutes of waiting, a Good Samaritan named Gerzon, armed with a AAA badge on his sleeve, offered to help. He drove back to his office to pick up his work truck and returned with tools. Mind you, this is at the end of the work day during rush hour. After he returned, my car was unlocked within minutes. I'm incredibly grateful for his kind gesture and professionalism. read more

I was wrong, and getting my car back was painful. 6 hours / 10 phone calls / and $250 dollars later I finally get my car back. The offices are full of liars!!!!I I was on my way to pick up my towed car today, for which the price was supposed to be 285$ per the call in the morning. It was 4:41pm, I made the phone call to the office as I knew they were closing at 5pm and my google map told me it's 5:00 arrival time so I just wanted to make sure they waited for me 1 or 2 mins in case the traffic changes. The lady answering the phone said ok, and the phone call was just 37 seconds long. However, when I arrived, which indeed turned out to be 2 mins past 5pm, they were asking 112.5$ more for late fees. I talked to the manager about the situation and then she talked to the lady who picked up the phone call and she said she told me about this late fee on the phone. I immediately sweared to god she didn't mentioned this , all she said was ok in the phone for my heads up call. She still insisted that she told me the late fee on phone call. It was so frustrating to deal with liars who can turn black into white!! If you are employing this company, it is just matter of time for this lying and greedy company to cheat on you. I understand the point of a tow company. They tow vehicles when a car is damaged, been in an accident, etc or parked in the "wrong" spot. As a business owner of a tow company, I think it is imperative to take every single circumstance into consideration as they all vary. As a manager of a law firm and being highly aware of the legal world I'm VERY disappointed in the lack of understanding and customer service of a recent tow. A hard working employee had their vehicle towed from their place of WORK and driven 1.8 miles for a total charge of 307$ is absolutely ridiculous. Especially if the tow regulations aren't being met CONSISTENTLY. When the vehicle owner calls to ask for financial leniency of their recent tow, the immediate response is no. Terrible customer service as well as a complete lack of human decency and understanding to the financial burdens we ALL deal with on a day-to-day basis. I DO NOT recommend this tow company for ANY TYPE of towing assistance. read more

I understand I was in the wrong, but I did not deserve to be treated the way MR. tow trucker driver Jonathan Tafoya treated me. He was rude and very unprofessional. He used his control to undermind me and take advantage of the situation. He wanted cash and when I gave him two credit cards, told me they did not worked and asked how I was going to pay. I can only assume he wanted cash to handle it "Off book". That is not the kind of employee I want working for me. I feel sorry for Southside towing and can guarantee I am not the only woman this jerk has tried to take advantage of. i got my vehicle towed last night from the parking lot next to las fajitas in newport beach. i was eating there. no one came in the restaurant asking about my vehicle. i was only parked there for about an hour. when i came out my vehicle was gone. i called the number to go pick my car up. when i got to the place the employees were very rude and disrespectful. one even tried to start an argument with me about reading the signs about towing even know i was giving el fajitas my business. these people are very shady. they are looking to just tow anyone. watch out for these guys out there when you are out in the newport beach area. i am also going to report them to the city of newport beach. read more
