Dog Park only review: It's big and there is water for the…read moredogs. Multiple benches to sit on. Several shade trees. #1. You cannot expect people who bring their dogs here to have any reasonable training nor management of their dog(s). I have been about to enter when a man was chatting with another actually said he,"gave up on the whole idea of training when he couldn't get his dogs to come to him." His dogs were in the park at that moment. We currently have a rescue dog who was abused by other dogs and has an aggression level of Patrick Starfish. I only take him in if no other dogs are inside. A few days ago, he was running his Chariots of Fire, run when a lady came in with three cattle dogs. They immediately chased my dog who ran away to the farthest end of the park and tried to get out the back gate. I told the lady that my dog was scared of other dogs. She literally did nothing. I had to leave my dog's poop and go rescue him. Two of her dogs left bothering him, but one chased him back to the gate when he started to run to me. He was SO panicked we could not walk the sidewalk along the park back to the car (he weighs as much as me and wasn't having it). Yesterday, we found it empty again and he began his happy run and suddenly a big huge black dog was standing there about 15 yards away. His owner told him to leave it & he ignored us and went on about sniffing around the park. I was able to get the leash back on and get out the nearest gate without incident. My dog was scared, but not tormented at all. A long walk and he was back to himself and calm. Thank You to the owner of that big beautiful, well behaved black dog!!

Kind of surprising given how beautiful the park is. They have areas for walking, basketball, beach volleyball, playgrounds, soccer, tennis, baseball, and exercising. The bathrooms and facilities are all clean. My one complaint is that the picnic pavilions are a far distance from the parking lot if you are lugging around heavy coolers and such. Would go back if we lived closer!

Some great and very well maintained baseball fields, a swimming pool, tennis courts, walking trails picnic tables, bathrooms, drinking fountains and even a dog park. Really something for everyone. One of the very nice things about the park is all the old trees that offer lots of shade from the blistering Floridian sun. A cool park to do a whole lot of cool things.

My son spent a few months participating in the swim team which meets at the pool at this park. The…read morepark is easy to get to with plenty of parking. It looks like it could use a little sprucing up by the city, however. The pool area is run down and often has chairs haphazardly laying around and the bathrooms can be downright gross. There is no shade around the pool except for one flimsy pop-up shelter that was destroyed in a storm and not replaced. The hot tub is nasty looking and has never been open as long as we've been coming. The pool itself often had a lot of debris in it and would use an overhaul as well. With all the growing Mount Dora is doing it would be nice to see them step it up and take care of their parks a little more. This park has a lot of potential but unfortunately it just isn't there yet.

4 reasons to come to this park. ***NEW INFORMATION***…read more There isn't any fee for everything I'm mentioning EXCEPT the front part of the off beach parking area ****** 1st is MY reason: I go here because it has 2 fenced in HUGH dog play areas. My girls go into the small dog play area while yes, big dogs go in the other one. Each play area has benches, water and poop bags in different areas of the park. (Some people leave balls there also otherwise, you bring your own) I walk the perimeter while the girls run after me and the other dogs. My 2 rescues "mother/daughter" duo are still puppies, full of muscle and need to run for their exercise. (for me to rest because they are a handful) 2nd: There is A children's play area. I know they have swings slides picnic benches but I'm not sure what else because I don't have a child to go there. I hear all of the children laughing, having fun so I'm sure it's pretty nice. 3rd: They also have back to back courts for... I know one is basketball, the other one may be pickleball? Not quite sure but again I see lots of people playing on the courts even if I'm not paying attention to them 4th: Which is most likely you wanted 1st is the large parking area across from the beach As you first drive into the park, there is a huge off beach parking area where You can (of course) park and walk right across to the beach. * BE AWARE, It is no longer "free" parking (just like ALL the parking areas in Volusia county) **The parking areas are free for local residents as long as you register with your car license plate and proof that you are indeed a resident here. ***I don't know what the policy is, you will have to look it up in The Volusia County rules I do know it's $20 a day parking (and all the parking areas now) BUT, I do know it is a great park with something to do for all AS for pictures, I will put them up when I go again BUT, here is a shot of my cute ladies and something strange that someone put up. Stick figures that I don't know their meaning
