Southwest airlines 20 years of service in Pittsburgh
Hyd F.

Southwest airlines customer service is wonderful. They are celebrating 20 years in Pittsburgh. My designated customer service rep was so friendly today. I really enjoy flying Southwest.

Always a good experience flying south west. Just wish they'd keep their seating as they always have

I can't find much negative about SW accept they don't fly direct from Pittsburgh to Boston, Albany or Raleigh, where I go to most frequently.

I always enjoy myself in the concourse Spirit flies out of but the Pittsburgh airport is pretty…read moresmall so you can literally enjoy every concourse there and not have to worry about missing your flight as there is only one terminal. I've flown with Spirit a lot over the years and I've never really had a bad experience, but the seats no matter where you sit suck if your 6' tall or more unless you get a big seat up front which I've flown on a lot but now they are always sold out before you book a flight it seems. I purchased an emergency exit seat for this flight because they have great leg room but the seats are so narrow due to those stupid metal spacers in between the seats that are in a fixed position. The flight attendants were average at best in the friendliness department but I have flown to several destinations where they were some of the best. Th pilots were nice and friendly. I've flown to EWR out of PIT several times with Spirit and it's usually problem free but this particular flight was delayed for one hour which pissed me off due to it being a late flight already and I had plans in NJ. It was probably due to that drone bs. There was a little turbulence but nothing too bad. It's normal on this route it seems. I sat in an aisle seat and the middle seat was empty and a very nice lady was sitting by the window who I chatted with for a little bit. All-in-all the experience was decent . The prices make flying with Spirit worth any hassles tbh. Safe Travels :)

When initially purchasing a Delta seat, upgrading to First Class is usually quite expensive…read more Therefore it is rare that they sell out their first class seats initially. When Delta doesn't sell all those first class seats early on (typical), Delta will do a "reverse auction" by continually lowering the price of those first class seats, until all the seats are sold.Usually at rock bottom prices. But Delta doesn't want their best customers / Diamond Medallion to see how cheaply they are selling those seats to random customers, so they block us (Diamond Medallion / Loyal customers) from being able to upgrade to First for a fee. On the app, all those first class seats are just X'ed out and unavailable to us!! So next time all you diamond medallion customers are sitting in comfort plus, and wondering who paid those huge prices to get into first class, please know that those are mostly non-loyal customers that bought the seat very inexpensively!! And those inexpensive seats were never made available to you, Delta's best customers! Delta does not take care of the best customers. If I was more motivated, I would post about this a lot. I will start now. I've already started flying other airlines.

This review is strictly about delta and not the airport. I…read moreflew from Pittsburgh to Laguardia airport New York. I got to the gate early and everything as fine. There was an announcement that the plane was delayed 10 minutes. Generally not a big deal at all. All the passengers boarder approximately 10 minutes late. Unfortunately we all sat on the plane at the gate for another 50 minutes. The stewards did not say anything and there was no announcement as why there was a delay????. The plane was completely full and the passengers where packed in like sardines. They did not serve anything at all on the flight not even peanuts. Hopefully this flight was an exception for Delta.

In my opinion, PIT has drastically changed for the better!…read more PIT no longer has the tram you have to take to get to the gates, the people movers are quiet. There is a lot to see in moving about the airport from the floor designs of many of the monuments of the City of Pittsburgh if you look closely to the lighting in the ceiling. I had a chance to take it all in, the airport was NOT busy. A family member dropped us off, so we did not experience any parking issues, charges for where to part and/or delays getting to the ticketing area. Once inside the sliding glass doors, we immediately saw our check-in point (AA) and had no wait, but a pleasant experience was had by the attendant behind the counter. We also appreciated the changes to the TSA checkpoint. I was expecting a delay and frustration in getting my things into the bins, not because I was not organized, but because I was traveling with a 19- month old, something I had NEVER had to do for many years. I found myself thankful for the understanding and direction the TSA gave us. Our departure was early afternoon (2:37 p.m. flight) out of PIT and the airport was fairly empty. I have NO complaints just praise for the service and experience we had out of PIT. Coming back we arrived close to 9:00 p.m. via Southwest where many/all of the restaurants were already closed. As we walked through the airport (fairly empty, again we realized the other changes...I had never worried about elevators before, we always used the escalators) this time we had been traveling with a stroller. Baggage claim is also different. Numbers instead of letters and oversized baggage comes on a different carousel. Maybe this was not different from previous days, but for us carrying a child car seat, it was a new experience. I love the changes, it was easy for us to navigate. Yes! This was my first visit to the NEW & IMPROVED airport in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Job well done! However, I learned that Door 7/RideShare is on the ground floor after walking all the way down to Door 6 to find out I was on the wrong floor. I believe that was MY error for not paying attention to the signage. We've never had to use RideShare before, coming from the PIT airport. This, too was a first due to an unexpected change with our family member picking us up upon our return. Once on the correct floor, it was easy to navigate to get to the RideShare stand and getting to our family members home (10 miles from the airport) after our three weeks of travel.

Unrecognizable, refreshed, and revitalized PIT has drastically changed!…read more The construction project complete PIT no longer has the tram, the people movers stand quiet, the tunnel to long term parking is closed, and in its place is a completely new look! The word that comes to mind is expansive as the lobbies and walkways are wide with cathedral height ceilings in places. There is a lot of eye candy from the floor inlays capturing the city's monuments to the small lights in the ceiling that makes it feel like a twinkling night sky. It is beautiful, clean, and polished looking with many tech additions. The downside is that the convenience that once existed in certain areas are gone. Easy access to long term parking is no more with shuttles as the primary method of transport. Not sure if they are going to replace the people movers, the moveable walkways, but if not that makes the airport even more expensive feeling but not in a good way. I appreciated the changes to the TSA checkpoint as it was much faster but the new x-ray system turns out to be slower as it automates the bins. I found myself waiting five minutes for my items to slowly move through the system with no sense of urgency. These small complaints do not negate the improvements! I miss the Rex fossil, but wow I can't help but be impressed with the changes! It is so nice!

Wife and I had to go to New York for my daughters engagement party…read more We looked at all the airlines and the prices and decide to go with Breeze Airlines. As of right now it only flies to and from New York to Pittsburgh, Pa on Thursday and Sunday. That worked out fine for us and booked the flights. I was very happy that the flight went to Islip Macarther Airport rather than one of the huge airports in New York. LI Slip Macarther Airport is 30 minutes from where we stayed and super convenient. I have to say out of all the airlines I have ever flown Breeze is the only one that boarded on time departed on time and landed on time. The stewardesses and all the Breeze staff where super friendly. I have to say Breeze is my new go to airline. The cost of the flight was $44 each way and the airline it self was fine. I will defiantly fly Breeze again and again. I you have to go to New York and you want a great airline defiantly look at Breeze.

The worst thing about Breeze is waiting for them to open before a flight if you have to check baggage. If you have flight anxiety to check in early to not miss your flight don't fly breeze. The kiosks never work and they only start check in an hour before the flight. If you are at a big airport and TSA nightmare you will hate Breeze . Days like this I am thinking I should have went Delta or American.
