Just to show how full flight is

Unhappy with the assigned seating way of doing things on SW now. Before, it was all open seating & you just came on & grabbed a seat. Now, they board by groups(group 1,2,3 etc) and you have to pay for your seat just like any other airline. We upgraded to "extra leg room" but, to me it feels exactly the same as before. Guess we'll be shoppin around now just for whoever is the most reasonable priced

$100 fee for bag 5 lbs over. Won't ever use them again. The chaos getting on had to change lanes 3 times. I know there changing to assigned seating. But the baggage fee is ridiculous.

    New plane! 737-800

Southwest does it better than anybody else. Why fly with another carrier when you have a choice. Flying out of the Tucson International Airport is a breeze. And Southwest makes it fun, believe it or not! Recently, I flew on one of their new Boeing 737-800 jets. These are great - lots of space, wider isles, and soft lighting. I LOVE this plane. Other airlines need to regroup and model their businesses after Southwest. I am a fan for life!

Decent enough airport for its size. I appreciate the friendliness of the TSA folks and most of the…read morefolks working the concessions. It's easy to navigate the terminals and bags are returned to baggage claim in a reasonable amount of time. The airport is kept clean and there's a good selection of vendors gate side for an airport of this size. The only thing TUS needs is a few more direct flights to other cities, but that's more on the airlines than on the airport itself. As a private pilot, the facilities air side are quite good as well. If you're visiting Tucson, welcome to our city! Be cautioned of the city's (not airport) new speed trap along Valencia Rd. as of May 2026. It's a seven lane road posted at an abnormally low 30 MPH. It's best to avoid Valencia Rd. completely and head straight out Tucson Blvd. to reach your destination within the Old Pueblo.

It's a pretty small airport,, literally just a handful of airlines or so that people will know that flies from here, and then maybe a couple of local airlines. Since it's not a huge airport that does help with the going in and out of the airport at least, from the security line checkouts to the different gates, as they're basically all in the same place. As far as restaurants and stuff inside, it's definitely more of a drinking airport, as most of the places in here aren't going to have diverse flavors or anything and mostly just bar type places. Don't have much more thoughts about the airport. It's fairly smaller compared to most, but that's not always a bad thing as it's a straight forward line in.
