All the other staff could give a sh*t. At the best they are indifferent. At the worst they are incompetent. The doctor that does my injections specifically asked me to have my PA Mallory talk to her about a possible change. When I mentioned that to Mallory it was clear she had no interest in taking that simple step for me. And then I was checking out after my last injection and Mallory was standing there and didn't acknowledge me in any way. They just don't care at all.

I called to tell them I would be late, to no avail; I called at least 10 times because my SS notice said they wouldn't see me if I was late. Well they did see me, but they were hostile. The doctor told me, "you don't want to make me mad, it could go against your claim if I think you are rude." At one point he even had some big ape like man follow me around the office threateningly, trying to get a reaction from me. I told the doctor, Steven Fishburn that I was irritated by the lack of professionalism at his office, and he threatened me and then had me escorted out of the office by the big ape man at the end of my exam. I am certain, given my extensive lived experience that Dr. Fishburn and his staff egregiously discriminated against me because I expressed irritation and unhappiness about the clinic's professionalism.

Before I found Dr. Raiten, I'd been dealing with severe, debilitating pain while every provider I was seeing made me feel like I was being dramatic and it wasn't that bad. That is an incredibly isolating experience, and if you've been through it you know exactly what I mean. Dr. Raiten was able to figure out what was actually going on at my first appointment. He caught something rare that everyone else had completely missed because he actually sat down and took the time to listen to me. That led me to get specialized treatment out of state that has made my life immeasurably better. The procedures have always gone smoothly, and follow ups with his PA Maria haven't been rushed. I am able to trust everyone at IPA, which isn't something I say lightly given how long it took to find people who actually took me seriously and listened.

Because I have complex structural cervical disease (including disc disease and loss of lordosis) paired with a hypermobility disorder, having a needle placed near my spine is a high-stakes, terrifying procedure. The clinic told me to take 5mg of oral Valium, which did not manage my severe anxiety. When I expressed in the procedure room that I was terrified and did not feel safe to proceed, the medical assistant completely dismissed me and told me I was "freaking out." To make matters worse, while discussing options to reschedule, Dr. Raiten began making completely inappropriate jokes about controlled substances, referring to Xanax as "Post Malone drugs."Instead of showing basic physician empathy or discussing proper clinical options like IV twilight sedation, the doctor and his staff chose to mock and minimize a vulnerable patient during a high-stress medical encounter. I had to walk out of the procedure to protect my own safety. Patients with complex spinal issues deserve compassionate, trauma-informed care--not to be ridiculed by their treating physician. I have filed a formal complaint with the New Mexico Medical Board. Avoid this clinic if you expect professional or empathetic care...

He was able to sort through my complicated case and even had me get another EMG/NCS which showed much more detail than the previous one conducted by one of the healthcare giants. I was being forced down a human cattle shoot by a corporate Dr. What Dr. Campa offered at first was an unbiased view of what was really going on with me and made recommendationsfor treatment that I will greatly benefit from. His depth of experience has led me to a path of healing rather than jumping through hoops to get substandard or greatly truncated care. Dr Campa is a champion for his patients putting them before corporate profit. What Dr. Campa has been able to offer me after the initial consultation is cutting edge treatment that in my case has had promising results. He is a world class researcher in our backyard rite here in albuquerque. His genius with Neurology is immediately apparent and the no nonsense approach that he uses is refreshing to say the least. My whole trajectory has changed for the better with my orthopedic and neurological maladies. Dr Campa has helped me to realize a much brighter future. This is cutting edge research medicine. A few caveats go along with it. The results aren't guaranteed " common throughout medicine already" and most health insurance does not cover off label use of Cross linked Hyaluronic acid. PRP is commonly used in oral surgery to regrow bone. In fact that's where Dr. Campa got part of his idea for this research. I am looking forward to the next round of treatments with an enthusiasm renewed by careful testing and expert experience. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Campa and his practice

But this medical company functions with HQ in El Paso. Their IT dept lacks serious GUI programming skills. I had to check-in, preregister and check-in again online even though I was standing in the office. Try another location because this is the worst of the NMPC offices. I hope to find a better pain management office with a doctor as competent as Dr Rumbaugh. If you are just a person who wants opiates or other drugs to feed an addiction, this is not the place for you. They have strict guidelines for administering pain meds. That is a good thing.
