I will tell you that during this long stay, we interacted with dozens of different teams. And this was an overall good experience. From the security people, nurses, techs, doctors, cafe staff, and even the cleaning crew- we were treated respectfully and everyone communicated with us. And these doctors took the time to really explain what was happening. I know from stays at other hospitals that family is often left in the dark about how and what needs to be done, but they have all been very transparent and ensure we know what they know.

The RN assigned to us was somewhat polite, but when we asked for water for the patient, we were told we could get it ourselves rather than being assisted. I also did not observe the IV port being sanitized before medication was administered, and a green disinfecting cap was not placed on the IV afterward. In addition, the pads the patient was lying on had visible blood on them and were not changed. I ended up removing the soiled pad from underneath her myself. These are basic cleanliness and sanitation practices that are important in a hospital setting. The experience left me feeling like I had to closely watch the care being provided to make sure things were being done properly. I hope hospital leadership or patient relations reviews this feedback and reinforces proper care standards for future patients.

I am writing this review from my perspective and also on behalf of my husband who was the patient…read more My husband was a patient from 2/15/22 through 8/31/22. It was continuous with 2 hospitalizations during this time. He was hospitalized since Nov 2021 then transferred to this facility on a ventilator. He was very ill, facing one crisis after another on a daily basis. I visited daily- mostly evenings/nights. I observed firsthand how he was treated along with other patients. The respiratory department provided excellent care, the Director Amy always was available for all of my questions, Janice, the Nurse practitioner as well. Her bedside manners were wonderful- she is very caring and thorough. ALL of the Respiratory Techs are great. They worked endlessly to make sure my husband improved and was cared for. This proved to be difficult much of the time as he was very sick. But they always greeted him/us with a smile, they were patient with my questions and they truly cared. They honestly went above and beyond and we are so very grateful. The nurses were also great, they were patient and compassionate. Always willing to help. The CNA's work long hours, were at times short staffed, but they still always provided great care and service. The Physical & Occupational therapists did a great job working with my husband. They were patient and went at his speed. They were successful in getting him to stand and walk. Calli and her staff are wonderful and they really know what they are doing! This facility is not perfect... no place is. The rooms are a bit small but you make it work. The facility is clean, the staff really work hard and my husband says he felt like family were caring for him. It is difficult at times to get through to the nurses, but they are quite busy, sometimes short staffed as are other departments. But I would keep trying and would get through. You can also request an update at the end of each shift which makes it easier to speak to the nurse. We treated all staff the way we would like to be treated and we never had any issues during my husband's lengthy stay. All departments were accessible, they returned calls, they welcomed questions and concerns and they were very helpful. My husband was sad to leave but since he improved greatly, no longer on a ventilator and able to continue recovery at home, we sadly said good bye. Any imperfections this place may have was greatly compensated by all of the wonderful staff- the care and assistance they provided!

In December of 2022, I was looking for a doctor willing and able, to do spinal revision surgery…read morefrom T-10 to sacrum. I had contacted a few other doctors, but they were either unwilling or unable to help me, but then I found Dr. Rappaport. When I was reading his reviews, one of them said he was the "fixer"! And he is! Dr. Rappaport is the best doctor I've ever had. He takes a minute to get used to, I think maybe he's a little OCD or something, or maybe he's just so brilliant everyone else is just trying to keep up. Besides knowing his stuff, his patients come first, no matter what. The morning of my surgery he was there early checking in on me, conversing with the surgical staff, unlike my first surgeon who was 1 1/2 hrs. late for my surgery, and spoke to me for maybe 30 seconds prior to surgery. He came into my hospital room every morning the four days post surgery I was there. My recovery was so much quicker than my first surgery. Dr. Rappaport is a down to earth guy who genuinely cares about his patients and their long-term outcome. He's absolutely one of the most ethical, honest doctors I've ever met, and I am so grateful to have found him. I just hope he doesn't retire in case I need neck surgery, lol.

In January of 2013 I started having low back pain. Flash forward through multiple MRIs, injections,…read morephysical therapists, consultants, medications, alternative therapies, NINE physicians that couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and three painful years of 'you're just going to have to manage'. It got to the point where I could not walk down the street, could not sit through dinner... I ended up at Dr Rappaport's office through some crazy referral. Physician #10. Could HE figure this out? The MRIs were clean. There was nothing obvious to point to. He said right away 'I know exactly what this is. It's your SI joint. It's unstable. It's a case of hyper mobility in the joint. We need to fuse it.' Of course I was skeptical. Three years of this pain that has derailed my life. I scheduled the surgery and immediately upon wakening the incessant, nagging, horrible pain was gone. It was so strange. And so beautiful. The subsequent tissue torture I had done trying to remain functional was still an issue, but the core problem was FIXED! I am walking. I can sit with my family through dinner. I can see a movie. I tear up still, three years later, with gratitude for having found this office and this surgeon. His open mind. To not think that the answer HAD to be in the MRI. To believe there was an issue without MRI indication. To fix it. THANK YOU. I later referred Dr Rappaport to my friend with a crushed disc in his neck. Dr R did surgery on him. My friend gushes with gratitude to have his life back every time I see him. An open mind goes a long way in the medical field. It's hard to find a professional that will look at YOU and not just your images. He saved my life. He gave me back my life.
