Sowing Basil was so helpful! We have motorized Hunter Douglas shades installed high above a stairwell. After our window cleaners "changed the batteries" for us, two of the shades no longer operated. They were in the open position and would not close. The person who sold us the shades had moved out of Incline Village, and no longer had resources to do the repair. So much for an easy solution. I started researching who might be able to help us, and after a couple of dead end calls to businesses that deal in Hunter Douglas shades, it was looking like the repair would take a lot of leg work on my part. Then I had a very encouraging call with Cristlyn, the owner of Sowing Basil. She arranged to visit our home two days later to assess our situation. At least that is what I expected. She showed up today right on time. She had an extension ladder to get to the 14 foot high windows and knew exactly how to unmount the product and diagnose the problem. Not only did she assess the problem, she had the needed parts and clearly knew how to work with the motorized shade. She fixed and remounted the shades TODAY. Our problem was completely solved. While she was here she also tuned up a manual Hunter Douglas shade that had been stuck for weeks, and got it un-stuck. It was great to work with someone so competent, resourceful and professional. I called her, she quickly called me back, she quickly showed up at my place to assess my problem. I had a large shade from a manufacturer that she deals with that I was having problems rolling up and down. She found the issue, got me a replacement part, came and took the shade away herself, brought it back to my home and installed it herself, and then walked out without charging me anything! She said the part was cheap and she just wanted to help me out because I was a local. She literally would not take my money.
