I call him at 830 and now he is leaving town for 2 weeks and can't come look at my PC. When I tell him this is terrible business practice his only response is "It is what it is" and hangs up. Dude strung me along for nothing. If he didn't want to come out he could've just said that and I could've found someone else. Now it is Saturday morning with most repair shops closed for the weekend.

I spent a week trying various software and hardware fixes on my own before having the sense to bring it to Microworx, where they pretty much instantly diagnosed and fixed the problem. I was impressed by how carefully and thoughtfully the technician listened to my explanation of exactly what the symptoms were, which of course might have had something to do with why he was able to repair everything so effectively. Beyond that, they left me an incredibly detailed voicemail message explaining exactly what had caused the problem and how to fix it if it ever happens again. Beyond that, when I got home I discovered that my entire computer (keyboard, screen, etc) was cleaner than I ever remember seeing it. Beyond that, the price was extremely reasonable, and less than they had led me to expect. I had a terrible experience here 20 years ago and have refused to patronize them since. Of course all of the personnel are different now, and I am so glad I finally gave them another chance. I am absolutely delighted with this place.

When I pointed out that they were trying to send me a cheaper laptop than what I paid for, they assured me they would send me the difference. Of course, they stopped reresponding to me on newegg and refused to pick up my calls once it was time to pay me the difference in value. The laptop I did receive was not set up properly, and I had to set up access to the partitioned drive myself. I also had to install my own screen brightness program. They are frankensteined, partially finished computers, and a shop run by liars.

I bought a laptop for school a year ago (late 2009) from them, a new Lenovo thinkpad for $700 in a…read morecheck, because the machine they had for credit cards was broken. I had asked at the time for no games on it so I would not be distracted by them in the school year. When I got it about a week later, it still had all the standard games on it that I asked to be removed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't bring it up with them. a few weeks later I went into the Lenovo toolbox and saw that the warrenty had expired on the laptop, in June 2008. I didn't bring that up either, stupid as that was. I take good care of my laptops and try not to damage them in any way. A few months into the school year one of the hinges broke on the laptop. by broke, I mean snapped clean off. only the other hinge was keeping the screen on and upright. At that point I brought the computer in. After it was brought in, the guy in charge said that the screws on the bottom had also fallen out. He asked me if myself or anyone took them out. I said no, why would I take them out? It would void the warranty and removing the screws and removing the hardware would not fix the hinge at all. He said that he'd try to get Lenovo to cover it over their warranty, which apparently expired before I got the laptop, and I was also covered though the shop's warranty. The owner said that he would go and get the new case and that it would be mostly covered by the warranty. This is where most of the BS starts. My mother paid, up front for what little that was not covered by the warranty and we went home. we called in a few days and asked if the part had come in yet. The owner said that we had to "bring the laptop in" before he could order the part. My mother brought the laptop in, again, and the owner ordered the part. My mother came home with the laptop so I could continue using it until then. When the part came, we left the laptop there overnight for it to be fixed. My mother came to pick it up when she was called and told it was ready. She drove down and came to pick it up. When she was there, my mother was told by the owner's wife that there would be an additional fee because the screws were gone and "your son must have opened up the laptop in order to fix it." My mother immediately said no, I had not, and would not, do that. The owner's wife then suggested that one of my friends had done it to fix the laptop. My mom immediately said the same thing, they had not, did not, and I personally made sure that they did not open use the laptop, let alone open it up. The owner's wife refused to listen and said that my mother had to pay the extra fee. my mother didn't bring any cash or checks, because she didn't believe that she would have to pay any more seeing as she paid up front for what it should have cost her. The owner's wife had offered to take her credit card's number, because their machine was still broken and couldn't read credit cards. At this point my mother stopped trusting them and left. the next day she drove back, and paid in cash for the repairs and brought the laptop home. And to top it off, two months after the repairs, the same hinge is creaking as if it will break again. Clearly this is a design flaw in Lenovo laptops, not a user caused problem. I also fail to see their logic in how removing screws and and removing hardware would affect the hinges, which I can attest never happened. Tl;Dr: Overpriced, bad service, and just a general rip off.

Absolutely great experience, needed the HDMI port on my PS5 replaced, had called around multiple…read moreplaces and got told $200 and at least 2 weeks to fix, messaged American Computer Services and got a message back the same day with a much cheaper price and was told depending on when I dropped the console off it could be done same day or next day at the latest. Very fast and prompt response time and answered every question I had. Dropped my console off on a Wednesday night and had it back in my hands the next day. Worked flawlessly and they even touched up some of the thermal paste for me free of charge. Also had problems with my kids 3DS that no one else would look at or try and fix but ACS told me to bring it in and they would fix it if they could, which was a very unexpected bonus(just waiting on the parts to come in to have it fixed) Overall an incredible, simple, and easy experience and will recommend them to anyone I can for any type of console/electronic repair, am very satsified!!!
