After going to Elena I knew I would never need to experiment again. Her new studio is cozy and comfortable. My nail tech did great until she was painting a design and on one nail, the straight line was very crooked. I asked her if she could fix it and she didn't speak English so she called over a man who knew a little bit. I explained to him I wanted the crooked line to be straight (like all the other nails). He responded "what? You want it be perfect?" I said "yes, I want this line fixed please". My tech and the man began speaking in a different language so I turned on my phone's translation app. They were talking about me in a different language saying "I'm not going to make it perfect, I'm going to make it worse". The man responded with "charge her $60, she hasn't been here before". I paid ($60, they said $50 when I called earlier), didn't tip (that extra $10 was the tip in my eyes), and never went back. Now I go to Infinity Nails NW nearby and they are amazing. Do not go to Tips and Toes.

So this review is for the place specifically as a hair salon. Haven't had anything else done there…read moreso can't comment on nails etc. But wow - what a setup! First off, I love the layout. There's a bar area where you can drink a cup of coffee (thank you Lord) while you get foiled, with magazines and a TV, and it's open and warm into the rest of the salon. Then the decor is great too, modern but colorful and interesting. Great for getting those creative juices flowing during your biannual hair-must-change-drastically crisis! Which brings me to the true gem of this place. Erica. She is actually an artist with hair and she'll be straight up with you about what ideas are good ideas and what ideas are not so good. I've pulled out pictures of the general idea I've had, and she's talked through with me what we can do and what to expect - and if she can't do an excellent job with it, she won't. Full stop. I've shown for a 2h appointment before with an idea that would take 2 at a rush and 3 to be perfect, and she actually had me reschedule (just did a quick cut) so she could give it the time and attention it would need. The colors look GREAT. I stay, if obviously not "natural," at least within the range of natural for the purposes of professionalism at my job, and she manages to bring out all the highs and lows and depths I never knew my relatively thin hair could achieve!! I've sent several friends and coworkers her way which is the ultimate positive review. You want a color whiz, head to Erica. She'll deliver, and keep you relaxed and engaged while she does it!

I explained my daughter has special needs and asked Linda 3 times for specific things my daughter should be doing to take care of her hair and she responded once but did not answer my question, no response at all the other times. Linda says she was upset because she takes pride in doing hair and cares about her clients but if that was true she would have answered my question.
