I booked a massage a couple of days prior and was so impressed from start to finish. The spa itself is beautiful, they have a hot steam room, an outdoor covered hot tub, and locker room amenities any woman could dream of. There's also a coed relaxation room with super comfy lounge chairs, which was such a nice touch. Cassidy did my massage and she was absolutely incredible. I even upgraded on the spot to add another 30 minutes because I didn't want it to end. I get massages regularly, but she was truly phenomenal. This was my first time here, and I'll definitely be coming back to see Cassidy again.

I had a facial from Gina last week, (an 80 minute signature) and let her know I just wanted to relax and enjoy my day & service. She was PHENOMENAL!! She had the perfect balance of relaxation while still taking care of my skins needs (definitely was dry from a few days in Tahoe!). We had an amazing conversation and she was so kind & genuine, but also when the conversation tapered off, it was the most relaxing experience ever! I previously worked in esthetic salons so I have had many many facials over the years and this was hands down one of, if not the best ever! As for the spa itself, the service was excellent all around from the moment I checked in until I left. I last minute requested to extend my service from a 50 to 80 minutes, (I was fully prepared to hear that it wouldn't be possible so last minute) however the front desk was able to make my request possible nearly instantly! Amenities wise, they have a hot tub outside, steam room, and then a relaxation room along with the other standard changing room, showers etc. I will say, I do wish there were maybe another amenities my option like a salt room or sauna as I have loved at various other spa's when traveling, but what they did have was still phenomenal. Especially the outdoor hot tub with a view of the mountains! Their snack and drink selection was great as well. (Plus a glass of bubbly upon arrival!) Afterwards, I asked the front desk team for a lunch recommendation, as the resort has multiple restaurants. I headed over to Brooks per their recommendation (the fine dining option currently under renovation and unavailable) and had a great lunch. The walk over had a wonderful view of the lake & mountains. The desk even said if I'd like, the valet would likely provide a golf cart ride over if requested. I opted for the short (~1 min) walk and was glad I did so. Had a great birthday here while traveling for work, and cannot thank Gina enough for the amazing facial! If I'm ever in South Tahoe again, will definitely be back and will for sure need to stay at the resort as well. Everything was incredible!

Ok so this place was pricey but the quality of the service and amenities was well worth it. The grounds at Edgewood always impeccable and the spa to no surprise was the same. The staff super friendly and approachable. We came for a couples massage and myself and hubby were very well taken care of. The products in the locker room impressive I took the longest shower after my massage and enjoyed the waiting area that also had a hot tub. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I treated ourselves to a 50 min custom couples massage for my 30th birthday on Sun., 12/1. The staff, both front desk and massage therapists (Janie and Carmen), were extremely professional and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were all very clean and taken care of. Would highly recommend!

Wow! Where do I even begin?! I almost booked at The Ritz Carlton in North Lake Tahoe because you can always count on The Ritz for a great experience, but it was an hour drive from where I'm staying so I decided to give Edgewood Spa a try and scheduled an 80 minute custom massage...so so happy I did!! One of the best massages I have ever had! Pamela was my massage therapist. We talked for just a couple of minutes about what my needs were and any current issues. Then throughout the massage Pamela checked in frequently to see how I was doing. She kept communication open and helped me feel very comfortable giving her feedback as she worked on me which always ensures a better result. She gives nice firm pressure when needed but knows how to adjust pressure as she feels different areas of your body. It wasn't painful at all yet I still feel like I got a nice deep tissue massage. I've had several car accidents and neck and back injuries over the years so I'm kind of hard to please which is one reason I didn't have very high expectations when I scheduled. Pamela exceeded all my expectations! What really impressed me most was her knowledge and experience. She knew exactly what I needed without me even telling her and she was able to address issues that not even my physical therapist has been successful in treating. I also loved the massage beds! I've had hundreds of massages and this is the first place that's had beds that are automatically adjustable to relieve pressure off lower back when you are face up on the bed. My lower back can be in a lot of pain when I twist and roll over from face down to face up and this helped alleviate the pain. Every single massage room everywhere should have these tables! The spa facilities are very beautiful, high-end and relaxing. The only suggestion I have for an area of improvement would be concerning their one hour spa usage after your spa service has ended. By the time I rested a few minutes, sat in jacuzzi, and showered my hour was up and I hadn't even had time to dry my hair or re-apply my makeup. They didn't kick me out or anything! Hahaha But I was a little stressed out trying to finish up in a hurry which took away a little bit from the relaxation experience. When I've had massages at The Ritz they're very clear that I can use the spa facilities as long as I want to after my treatment. I don't normally stay very long but it's nice knowing you don't have to rush either. Overall though I'm beyond thrilled with my time at Edgewood Spa today and already looking forward to booking my next appointment with Pamela! I'm interested in trying out their other massage therapists too but when you find someone as good as Pamela it's really hard to schedule with someone different. But, IF their other therapists are as skilled as Pamela is, I have no doubts they'll be amazing!

We are staying at the lodge, and tried out the spa today. Very glad we did!! We had a wonderful couples massage. Beyond relaxing, and beautiful setting. Best of all, you have full use of the facilities for the day. The staff is great, and terrific customer service. We used the hot tub, steam room and showers are fully equipped with anything you might need. We will definitely utilize the spa again next trip.

Ask the Community - Spa Edgewood

Is the spa free to use if I'm a hotel guest?

Hello, no there is a fee. But if you get a service you will be able to use the rest of the spa for the day. Once those services open.

How much is the day spa pass and what does it include? Looking to book a massage without staying at the hotel but would love to have access to the hot tub!

Day pass is $50 per person and you have unlimited use. Even if you book for a massage, you can still use all the SPA amenities.

Before my friend was going to receive the facial, she was pressured multiple times by the esthetician that she could upgrade to the Pumpkin Peel Facial for an extra $80, to which she agreed to. All of this should have resulted in a $400 dollar charge and a 10% tip for a $440 charge. Somehow Serenity Spa ended up charging her $564.  After explaining the overcharges, the front desk receptionist assured me there were no overcharges. Then after looking further, after intense prompting, she admitted there was a $60 overcharge - she couldn't explain how she came to this number, which was still wrong. After insisting this was the only overcharge, the receptionist refused to address the remaining $60 overcharge and hung up the phone after accusing us of lying, which was incredibly unprofessional and irritating as my friend is an incredibly accomplished and pure hearted person. I'm not at all surprised at the litany of negative reviews about Serenity Spa and I would encourage everyone to steer clear of this place and their questionable, at best, transparency and billing practices.

WARNING TO FUTURE GUESTS: New Management Did Not Honor the Spa Package We Were Sold…read more Extremely Disappointing and Humiliating Experience I rarely leave reviews like this, but our experience with Elements Spa and the lodge where it is located was so upsetting that I feel future guests should know what happened, particularly if you are purchasing a spa package that advertises access to the lodge's private beach. I booked what was advertised as a 90-minute deep-tissue couples massage with access to the lodge's private beach. Because I was traveling with my family, I specifically asked the spa front desk beforehand whether my family could join me at the beach. I was told yes. Had I been told otherwise, we simply would have made different plans. Unfortunately, my massage with "Eddy" was one of the worst spa treatments I have ever received, and I have had many professional massages and spa treatments over the years. We were brought back approximately six minutes after our appointment time. During a significant portion of my treatment, the therapist simply rested his hands on my back while taking deep breaths. The remainder consisted primarily of extremely slow, light rubbing of lotion into my skin. There was virtually nothing I would describe as deep-tissue massage. It genuinely felt as though the goal was to let the 90 minutes pass rather than provide the treatment I had paid for. I questioned if he was even a professional masseuse after the treatment, because it was the most bizarre massage I've ever received. To be fair, my spa partner had a much better experience with Danielle. He described her as "very strong" and said his massage was something he would return for. The facility itself was also disappointing. The spa felt dated and run-down, with old carpeting and dingy, tiny bathrooms, and my massage was performed in what appeared to be an old hotel room. It was nothing like the relaxing or upscale spa experience I expected based on how the package was presented online. But the treatment we received afterward is the reason I am warning other guests. When my family joined me at the beach, as we had specifically been told they could, we were suddenly informed that the new lodge management would not honor what the spa/front desk had told us. Instead of recognizing that there was clearly a communication problem between the spa, front desk, and lodge management, the situation became hostile towards us, the paying customers. The new lodge management appeared to be a Middle Easterners, and specifically told us that they weren't affiliated with the Spa in any way shape or form and did not care what they sold us. We were ultimately escorted off the property while being accused of having "lied." This happened in front of my family and other guests and was incredibly embarrassing and humiliating. There were only four other people on the private beach besides our party of six. We had just spent nearly $500 on spa services and had specifically asked permission before ever bringing our family onto the beach. What makes this even more frustrating is that I personally approached the front desk and even offered to purchase a day pass so there would be absolutely no misunderstanding. I was assured that my family and I could enjoy the beach. I actually tipped the front desk employee because I appreciated what I believed was her helpful customer service. Yet when the new owner became involved, that assurance disappeared, and somehow we became the "liars." If the spa or front desk gave us incorrect information, that was an internal communication issue. Paying guests should not be publicly accused of dishonesty because management and the spa are not on the same page. I was willing to overlook an underwhelming massage. I was willing to overlook an outdated facility. I even tipped well because I don't like making someone feel badly about their work. What I cannot overlook is being told one thing before spending nearly $500, relying on that information, and then being humiliated and treated as though we had done something dishonest. This was supposed to be a relaxing first day of our family vacation in Lake Tahoe. Instead, it became one of the most uncomfortable and humiliating hospitality experiences I have ever had. My warning to future guests: If you are booking Elements Spa because the package includes lodge or private-beach access, get the exact terms in writing before you pay. Based on our experience, what the spa/front desk tells you may not be honored by the new lodge management. I will not return, and after the hostile and unprofessional way our family was treated, I cannot recommend Elements Spa or the lodge where it is located to anyone.

He did an amazing job explaining to us the health benefits of the cedar, helping us get situated, and pouring us a cup of Super Ohtaka (a Japanese beverage consisting of 50 fermented vegetables) at the end of the session. The cedar bath itself was comfortable, each session is 25 minutes. I wasn't anticipating getting so messy! It was very fun getting buried in the cedar- the way Tim explained it was like getting covered in a warm weighted blanket. It's a similar experience to a sauna, I was surprised when he told us that there was no heating in the tub and that the cedar enzymes were keeping the cedar warm! I definitely felt my circulation improving. If you end up overheating, you can create air bubbles with your toes and hands or just stick your arm out to help regulate your internal temperature- which is what I ended up doing.
