She used the best products for my facial and did an amazing job explaining to me what each product was and the effects of each (between relaxing, obviously!). After reading all of the glowing reviews here of Tea's awesomeness, I decided to give Spa Glisten a go. For my first ever bikini wax. I was terrified. I mentioned when I booked my appointment that it was my first time, and Tea was so sweet and reassuring. She told me that building it up in my head would make it worse, and a little ibuprofen could make you feel better. I kept repeating this to myself in the few days prior to the appointment to prevent from chickening out. Sure enough, I went for the appointment and Tea was so friendly and personable and kept my mind off the task at hand with great conversation. After the first strip was pulled, I was so surprised. That was it? Hardly painful at all! We chatted the whole time and before I knew it it was over. I kept agreeing to take more and more hair off because I felt fine. This place is so close to being 5 stars. I made an appointment for 6 and at 6 on the dot the woman called me over. The water was perfect and she was very meticulous for my manicure and pedicure. I don't know why this place has 2 dollar signs, $26 for a manicure and pedicure is a great deal. The only problem is that the massage was SO SHORT. I am used to getting a hand and foot massage with a mani pedi and the massages were great for 10 seconds. The lotion she put on my hands had not even rubbed in completely before she moved on. Had it not been for the massage, this place would have become my go to, but I will keep looking. *note: this was kinda weird but the woman did not know how to use the credit card machine. She had me go around the counter and do it for her. I didn't count it against the rating, but I think it's a little unprofessional to have the customer charge herself. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I just moved to the area and while passing by, I noticed this place had great reviews so decided to run in and get a quick mani/pedi done. They seemed nice. The salon looked clean (though completely empty on a Saturday). I asked for the rate, they said $30. Ok great! They saw I was in a hurry and said they could do it at the same time. Ok great! (I do that all the time). The lady said it would be $5 more. Was a bit unusual to be charged extra because I do this all the time, but ok whatever, it was about convenience at that point. While the lady was doing my pedi, I just mentioned to scrub the callous area (and not to skip over it, as they could see I was in a hurry). She says ok, does it, and then says that'll be $10 more. Oh wow, ok whatever. As they're finishing up, I notice my sandals might not work with the drying pedicure and ask if they have slippers (don't all salons?). She says no then says yes but that it'll be $2 extra. Oh my goodness people, stop trying to make an extra buck on every little thing! In the end she already swiped my card before telling me the slippers would be extra and so she didn't say anything and I ran out in a hurry. This is where it got weird. I had left something at their salon and had to stop by a few days later to pick it up. As I am putting the item into my car (by the loading zone next to their salon), the lady runs out and starts yelling "Wait, I forgot, wait!" And as I stop to see what's up, she runs up and starts pointing a sticky note with numbers at me, telling me she forgot to charge me the extra $5 last time and that I still owe $2 for the slippers! Who does that?! Unbelievable. Lady, if you can't count and didn't charge my card properly, don't come running to my car the following week telling me I owe you more money! It was the weirdest experience. The weird add ons didn't bug me as much. But running up to my car telling me you forgot to charge me the extra $5 and that I still owe for the pedi slippers, that was just so unprofessional. I planned on coming here all the time, it's in a good location for me and the other ladies seemed nice. But the principle of that whole transaction just made me never want to step foot in that salon ever again. EDIT: Thanks to this place, I also got to experience for the first time ever, what an ingrown nail feels like on both of my big toes. In 15 years of getting pedicures, never had his happen before. This review is for waxing services by Tea. She's amazing! Very clean, knowledgeable about different types of waxes/hair growth, quick, and to top it off she's sweet as can be. The spa itself is clean and calm, the way it should feel when you are pampering yourself. You can always free 90 minute parking across the street. My only "complaint" is that she's too popular...sometimes I forget to make appointments and want to squeeze one in but she's fully booked. I have a hard time giving 5 star reviews because I feel like I am so happy with the services, the review starts to lose any credibility... BUT, this place was great. There is free 90 minute parking just across the street. The spa itself is very clean and the women who work there are very professional and friendly. I made an appointment Tea for a wax. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about her work. I wouldn't say waxing is painful, but it does cause my eyes to tear up at times. And this is all due to my favorite facialist of all time, Tea. For some reason people do not believe that I used to have horrible acne filled skin. And why? Because of Tea's magic hands. She knows exactly how to treat your skin. The products she uses are wonderful. I was one of those product junkies that had to try everything to see what worked best for my skin, but once I started using the products she uses on me, I could not go back to anything else. And though I cannot stop the aging process, Tea can surely help with prolonging it. And remember that getting facials is like exercising. You might not see the true results after your first visit, but with continued visits, you will see great results. So for any of you skeptics out there, (I used to be one because of a bad experience with another facialist, but was converted after being introduced to Tea by a dear friend) a great facial can do wonders. I have been going to Tea for almost 6 years now. She is AMAZING. I go to her mainly for a Brazilian wax, but have also used other services of hers and the rest of the salon. Tea is so nice and makes what can be an awkward experience very comfortable. I have always had to drive quite a distance to get to her, but it is well worth the drive! She is very professional and FAST, she is willing to do anything to make sure you leave there happy! I have also got my eyebrows, legs and underarms waxed by her, along with a couple facials, everything has always been amazing! I drive about 45 mins to an hour just to see her regularly because she is that good. When I'm looking for a good wax, I look for cleanliness, efficiency, and a good conversationalist. Tea is very clean and uses hard wax, which is hard to come by at this price. She is super speedy, which makes the pain seem so minimal. Lastly, Tea makes good conversation all the while so that I'm not focusing at all on the pain. I have been going to Tea for facials and micros for years. Her facials are amazing and her customer service is top notch. I always look forward to my appointments with Tea. My complexion and skin has improved tremendously after going to Tea.She is extremely generous with samples. I buy all my day cream/night creams from her (Janssen). I am so glad she introduced me to them because not only they are affordable but they feel AMAZING on your skin. I also buy my powder from her (Glo Minerals). the other day, my skin was just BAD. So I decided to get a deep cleaning facial. I contacted them and the receptionist was super nice and friendly and I was good to go today. I got there and the receptionist was setting up and did my facial. She was amazing. Very friendly, listened to my concerns about my skins, really attentive, and simply AMAZING. My skin was breaking out, oily, and dirty. Now it's a little swollen but definitely cleaner and smooth. I don't know what exactly she used but the products smells herb-ish which I liked. I was in Glendale visiting family and decided to try my first ever bikini wax. After reading reviews I made my appointment with Tea and I'm SO glad I did. She was wonderful! We arrived early and one of the kind ladies asked if we wanted anything to drink while we waited. It looked clean and lovely inside. There was construction going on outside the building, but we couldn't see/hear it inside. It didn't take away from the relaxed vibe in the spa. Tea booked a long time with me so we could take it slow since it was my first time. I have to say, I don't know if all waxes are like this, but it wasn't bad at all! I ended up going full Brazilian because it really wasn't bad. It hurt in the moment (of course), sometimes a good bit. But it was fine immediately after. Tea was so nice and funny. She talked and asked me about myself to keep me distracted. Anytime I needed to take a break, she stopped. I didn't feel rushed at all. She sprayed me with lavender mist to help me relax before, during and after. After it was all over, she rubbed the area with hydocortizone cream. When I mentioned that I would go buy some to use for the next few days, she gave me a bottle of hers. She said that since she knew I was visiting I shouldn't waste my time going to the drug store. Good service but they charge $10 to remove gel nails!!!!!!!!!!! That is $1 per nail!!!! Steep cost to remove gel polish. Yikes. They are also a bit more expensive than other nail salons in the area. My first choice is Pristine Nails (only go to Anna) but this is a good backup option. read more

I tried this salon because I work down the street and walk by all the time, so I decided to give it a try. I had an appointment, when I walked in they seated me right away. When I called I let them know that I was going to be coming in on my lunch break and only had an hour. I had a spa pedicure and gel manicure, it took a little over an hour. I really liked both the gel manicure and pedicure. They were really good about my manicure and pedicure. The manicurist would change sides when working on each hand. I like this, not like other places that have you bend your arm all the way to the other side, that can be so uncomfortable. The only bad is that my gel manicure was chipped the next day I don't think I did anything to chip it, but anything is possible. The pedicurist did such a great job too. She didn't rush and my pedicure feels great!! Over all I liked it, they didn't have many people working so that may be something to think about if you go in during a busy time. read more

Tea is AMAZING!!!!!!!! I went in to get a bikini wax and she was so great. She really makes you feel comfortable and does explain what she will do. Throughout the process she talks to you about anything to distract you from your legs being spread eagle in the air haha. She is quick which really who wants it to take forever. I read the review about the crazy girl saying she had an issue at this place but honestly I have not gotten my wax done in years and yes I have shaved and they always say it hurts more when you have been used to shaving, but with Tea the pain was close to nothing. If you think she is going fast you just let her know and she will slow down for you so speak up! don't stay quiet and complain about it after. Once we were done she let me know what I should do after to help with any dead skin and how to really take care of the area to have the best experience. Seriously though, get your wax here! best place in town I think, doesn't take more than 20 min!!! I will be back again for a wax and to try her other services!! side notes When I went in the first time I didn't make an appt. but out of luck I got Tea to do my wax. She has this way of simply making you feel comfortable and take your nerves out (I was really nervous prior because it was my first time). Their prices are very fair (although I recommend you stop at your ATM before your appointment- cash is preferred), and they are discreet, professional, and very accommodating to client needs. I see Tea for eyebrow waxing and Brazilian, and she does a fantastic job. She is great at making you feel comfortable, is very flexible with her schedule for regular clients, and meticulous in her work. Their mani/pedi services are great as well- their pedicurists are gentle, perfectionists, and don't have that nasty habit that some salons do of talking about you while they're working on you. I haven't gotten a facial in years and decided that it was time. Went on yelp and wanted something local. Spa Glisten seemed perfect. Called and Tea was so accomodating and helpful that I could not pass trying out her out. I was seriously very impressed with the results. She was very thorough and her massage was awesome. Wanted it to be longer! The extractions were not fun, but...a month later (I got my facial in early July) and I have not broken out and my skin is still beautiful! I have been meaning to try this place for the longest time now! It's close to where I live and there are awesome reviews! So I came in for a mani-pedi which is reasonably priced - $26. They are SUPER friendly there, and the way the handle bitchy and needy customers is amazing!!! My manicurist was sweet, she did a great job on my toes! My hands looked cute in the beginning until I got home and looked at them closely and noticed that some nails were not evenly filed and the second coat of the color started not at the cuticle but far off from it.. and the color started chipping 4 days after I got my nails done! I had to clean the color by day 5 and apply my own nail polish which lasts for over a week.... so that kind cost me a star that was needed to be taken off. They have decent selection of colors, most of them are only a quarter full though...other than that very clean, tiny, awesome massage chairs...I'll be back here when I don't have time to do my own nail (which I do most of the time) and when I feel like getting pampered.
