I wasn't going to leave a review but since Mike the owner responded back to my husband's review with a bunch of lies, here I go! Mike mentions that my husband is rude to Mike's wife when she comes to service our spa. We aren't even here when she comes! She just goes directly in the backyard and does her thing. Are we supposed to pop out back whenever we do happen to be here and have a chit chat? That part of his statement just cracked me up! Then he said something about our son cancelling his service? Well, we knew nothing about that until right now so thanks for the head's up! Simply stated, our water was getting continuously cloudy so we texted to see if he had any ideas and he blamed it on us being dirty people (yes, he actually texted me that! And no, we are definitely not dirty people!) and then said our neighbors were probably using the tub when we were gone (umm, definitely not in this gated community and with our cameras). Anyways, we looked back at our cameras after his outrageous text messages to see what they did in the last two services and never once was our water checked. He now says (in his response to my husband's review) they don't have to test water - um, ok? Lol! Even when it's been cloudy and having problems? That seems professional. First, I appreciated how easy it was to get an estimate (flat rates listed on the website actually, whoops I should have checked) and communicate here with Mike. We set up an appointment and he was extremely prompt - and texted to let me know he was on his way. I wish everyone was as excellent and quick at communicating as Mike is! Second, and mainly...I bought this house from a DIY guy who did everything, including installing the hot tub, incorrectly. Mike pointed out alllllll the safety issues with the electrical, of which there were many, and told me he couldn't clean the spa, it was too risky. He offered great advice and didn't charge me even though he took the time to come out and look - which I SO appreciated! I mean he probably saved my life and for free. I would not hesitate to call/text/yelp dm Spa King for any and all hot tub related needs and I am so happy I know who to call now! read more

Continuous weeks of murky water. Drained, cleaned and refilled water as Spa King said they couldn't fix it with chemicals. Next week the water was murky again. When we asked what the problem might be, the owner was arrogant and rude. Told us that either we were very dirty people (definitely not - a little on the OCD side) or somebody else must be using our spa (we live in a gated community and have cameras, so no that wasn't happening). Then he texted us that we should find another company to service our spa - he actually "broke up with us"! Why? Because we questioned why our water was cloudy after only one week. Update - we went back and checked the cameras on the day they came to service and water was not tested and no chemicals added after we replaced with fresh water. We really love this company and they have been good to us. Regina is so nice to our dog and he just loves her. He begs to go out to see her every time she comes by. She always gives him doggie treats and he loves it. She is careful when she goes into the gate to make sure he does not get out. We are thankful that we have such a caring company. Not too sure how we got pulled into this, but I guess I'll share my experience. We have probably spoken to this lady once but we are continuing to be called "rude". The one time we spoke I had just got home from a prenatal appointment and the dogs had been couped up for a few hours. The top was down on the hot tub and I didn't see the spa cleaner so I assumed she was gone and let the dogs out. When our dog Roxy saw the spa cleaner she immediately started barking, like most dogs do when they're startled by another's presence. Roxy didn't approach, only barked. I apologized and reassured the wife that Roxy isn't an aggressive dog and has never harmed anyone. She told me that she was scared so I immediately called for Roxy to come inside and waited a few more minutes until she had left to let her back out. Nothing else was ever exchanged between myself and the wife. I didn't think it was an issue, and figured that I would double and triple check every week before letting the girls out again. Like I said this is the only time that we have actually talked to her. My boyfriend was later informed that the service had been cancelled without any warning due to an "aggressive dog". They never reached out to us to resolve the issue or ask to keep the dogs in until the service was finished (which again I was already planning on doing). If anyone reading this review wants a service that can be cancelled at anytime without any warning or good reasoning please look here. We suggest looking for a business that would actually take their time resolving the issue rather than cause more. Don't waste your money. Good riddance. Update: We didn't plan on writing a review.We even referred you to our family without expressing our disappointment in your business to them because we didn't think it was that big of an issue and would move on. You're now just causing issues for them as well. YOU were the one that brought us into this conversation, just remember that. Communication would've been best rather then treating paying customers like this. Update: 1/11/2023- The owner edited their comment saying that this was in the front yard and keeps using the word "again". This was the one and only time and in the backyard. We never let our dogs off leash if they are in the front yard or out in public. The lying is absolutely ridiculous!!!! You guys look so silly, we have cameras in the front and back of our house! You continue to call us "rude" when we've only talked to the wife once and even apologized for the situation. So please tell me how and when we were ever rude to you. Arrogant, unprofessional, rude, liars. That's what you're getting if you go with their services. read more

I was a customer for seven years and always received exceptional service from Mike and Regina. I sold my hot tub and that is the only reason I am not longer a current customer. They always communicated if they were going to have to change my service day due to weather, school or emergencies. Anything I needed help with from getting a holder for the cover or getting a new cover was easy and taken care of quickly. Any issues I had were resolved and I never had to worry about the job getting done. I highly recommend Spa King for weekly service and repairs. I will use them again if I get another hot tub in the future. read more

Ran into an issue with our older hot tub. Mike went out of his way on a Saturday to help me trouble shoot items remotely to make sure I was not having someone come out for something that did not need it. Really appreciated his expertise and willingness to help. Great company!!! read more

We bought a house with a winterized hot tub. Not having any knowledge on how to get it up and running we called the business who had originally sold it to the previous owner (more on that in another review). To make a long story short, we needed to have someone come out and help as soon as possible. I called Michael and was pleasantly suprised when he called back to say he could come out later that day due to a cancellation (otherwise I was going to have to wait until the next week). He came out, got the tub up and running, needed to do a full on shock treatment to it and came out the next morning to finish the job. He was pleasant, knowledgeable replys quickly when I email him with a question. Without a doubt he is a great asset when you are a novice in hot tubbing. I will have him come out to help me learn more about the water changes and would have him service any other problems. read more

Mike is the king at keeping my spa clean. Even with two large dogs that steal his stuff as chew toys he always shows up and does the job. He is very trustworthy and never overcharged for anything that needed done. read more

Even though the Spa King is a business based in Reno, and I'm in Tahoe, Michael will come out. And he has come out over the past several years to help me out. I have an older Grandeee spa/hot tub. In Tahoe, like many things that sit outdoors, it gets exposed to weather. This mean snow dumps, thaw and dry cycles, deep freezes and general neglect (wildlife like bears that like to eat hot tub covers). The Grandee is about a '96, so it's not the newest kid on the block but it's large. With anything that is outside exposed to the elements of Tahoe - constantly, and more at least 15 years old, it needs a little bit of upkeep. So who do I call when I need help with it? I call the Spa King. He fixes it when it's broken. He comes out and re-comes out to help clean it, change out the pump, replace hoses, replace circuit breakers, etc. It's done quickly, professionally, and you know what - I'm happy with the service. For the 2nd home owners who come up to Tahoe a few times a year - think about giving Michael a call (or e-mail) and he can fix up that ol' hot tub of yours or give it a good cleaning before you do show up. If anything's broken, he'll let you know and he can fix it before you get there. Even takes PayPal! read more

Spa King is the first hot tub service I have ever called for assistance. I recently had a pump go out on my spa. Mike came out to Cold Springs and assessed the damage, showed me the cost of the replacement pump and placed the order.
