I attended Spa Tech in Ipswich from January 2012- March 2013 for the evening Holistic Massage program. This school was my number one choice after looking at other massage schools in Massachusetts. The school has such a 'homey' feeling to it, even from the first time you visit. I loved that the class sizes were small because it allowed for more one on one time with instructors, unlike some other schools where there are 25+ people in one class. The program itself was also great. Each class catered to every style of learning so whether you were an auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learner, Spa Tech always made sure to include this in each class to make learning easier for everyone. The teachers were caring and were always concerned with the progress of each student. I also loved my class. Everyone seemed to hit it off right away and we looked forward to seeing each other every week. By the end of the program it seemed like we had known each other our whole lives. The main reason I am writing this review however, is to say how thankful I am for how well Spa Tech prepared me for the field of massage. I had a massage job lined up before I was even out of school, and I was nervous about being so new to the field and clients knowing that I was new. I was completely wrong! Clients love my techniques. I started working at the end of April, soon after I received my license, and I have received so many complements such as, " I have seen many massage therapists over the years, but I just have to say that you give the best back massages!" Its so rewarding to see a client come into my massage room with pains and restrictions, and then to get up after an hour and feel like a new person. Who wouldn't want to be a massage therapist after seeing that happen?? I have had new clients who come in and say they have seen the same massage therapist for years but only stopped because their massage therapist moved or retired, (pressure on me because I'm right out of school- right?) but they have LOVED my massage and continue to come and see me. I have only been working for a little over two months and already have a continuously growing clientele. Its still hard for me to grasp how successful I've become in such a short time; and I owe a large amount (almost all) of my success to Spa Tech. My name is Elizabeth Clair and I am a graduate of Spa Tech Institute on September 16, 2013. Two days after I graduated I got a position at a studio as a massage therapist. Yes two days after graduation I got a job!! I started the night Therapeutic program in October of 2012. Working full time and going to school at night was NOT easy but to be honest I would RUN out of work to go to school - not because I was going to be late - but because I loved being there. The fellow students were encouraging and kind - and frankly awesome! Everyone was accepting and unique. We all came from different paths of life and this school brought us all together. I now have made lifelong business and personal relationships because of Spa Tech. It was the best decision I have ever made. I now am starting my career as a therapist in 2 weeks and I can't wait to start. I was told by the experienced Lead Therapist at the salon I will be working at that I was "awesome!" during my interview. You truly get a fantastic education with all the essentials to become an amazing MT and healer! The teachers and staff are also amazing and made my stay wonderful. Spa Tech Institute is an amazing opportunity to learn about massage, polarity, or esthetics and to learn about your self. Small class sizes will allow you the individual one-on-one teacher instruction that is needed to learn the most advanced skills in the field. Not only do the techniques and programs provide you with a solid foundation to attract and maintain clients, but the hours of professional development and business skills will allow you to own and operate your own business. Each instructor has spent many years either working for someone or building their own practice. Their advice is often invaluable. Aside from the enjoyable and stimulating classroom environment, the office staff helps to make Spa Tech Institute a warm and friendly place. Knowing that you have your career advisor and financial aid officer and your education director in one building allows your learning experience to be the main focus of your time, not paper work and red-tape. The staff is very accommodating to students' schedules and often takes time out of their day to catch you, on a 5 min break, to share a job posting or sign a paper. They provide you the strong support often needed to juggle education with a busy outside personal life. I am a graduate of Spa Tech Institute of Ipswich and I continue to go there for the Teacher Supervised student clinics. While a student, inappropriate touch was covered for protection of both the client and the massage therapist. If at any time a person feels uncomfortable, whether giving or receiving, the session must be stopped immediately is what was taught to us and reiterated throughout my time there. Spa Tech is a very professional school which has a stellar reputation in the industry of massage and graduates professional well trained therapists. I received the training and confidence I needed to start a new career and business of my own at age 47 and am enjoying a growing business and continuing relationship with my former teachers at Spa Tech who continue to support and help me grow and better myself in my "new" profession. read more

Spa Tech is an incredible school. Not only are the students more often than not very passionate about the work they're doing, but they are also very skilled in the work to back up that passion. The knowledge they embody is beautiful and the student clinic is amazing. For 30 or 35$ for an hour long massage people expect a private room, but plain and simple that's not realistic. If that's what you want go to a private professional massage therapist for 80$+ an hour. The clinic here is a STUDENT clinic. The students are learning still, yet they're incredibly talented in most cases. I would recommend Spa Tech to anybody seeking any of the programs they have available, or to anybody looking for a cheap but well done massage. You cannot beat the experience for the money unless you are in southeast Asia. I have enjoyed several satisfying massages from a variety of students over the last two years. Most recently, a near to graduating student, Tyler H. Cousins , gave me an astounding massage. He studied my portfolio in depth prior to the massage and came completely prepared to the initial consult. His skill was beyond student-like -it was professional. He utilized a variety of techniques to stretch me out and give me relief. I find that the students approaching graduation have developed confidence and enthusiasm for their art as well as the knowledge and the skill to give me a massage that satisfies both a tired body and a cheap wallet. read more

If you are looking to get into a more holistic trade, this is the school for you. I stared as an aesthetics student but later found myself back for both the massage and advanced polarity program as well. This school has a great staff, like minded students, and all around great energy. If you are interested in any of the fields they offer, I highly suggest stopping into an open house. I had a hydration facial done by Kelly Yesair. She was fantastic! She walked me through the entire treatment and she was very soothing with her touch! She was very attentive, always making sure I was comfortable and pleased with her service. I'd definitely recommend her!
