How can you not love Spaan's cookies? This historic bakery is a classic in Galt. The exterior is brick with beautiful hand-painted tiles. The inside is welcoming, with vast amounts of cookies in all different flavors everywhere you look. Along with the cookies are vintage decor, including a Model T car! The cookies are all delicious, and you can't go wrong with any you choose. My favorites are the fudge cookies and the holiday cookies, which are limited edition. Samples are provided upon request. The price point is amazing, around $4 a box or $8 for a huge box. There is something for everyone here, with gluten-free and nut-free options. My husband is allergic to peanuts, and he can eat here because they clean all the machines after each flavor change. Aside from cookies, there is a gift shop inside with cute knick-knacks and small gifts. I highly recommend coming to Spaan's cookies anytime you're in Galt.

A historic cookie shop in Galt (it's been churning out cookies for over 70 years!). Soft, chewy, old-timey cookies here. You might have seen the cookies in plastic containers at grocery chains (I think I've seen them at a Sprouts). The cookies are in the same packaging here as well. I got the chocolate chip walnut cookie pack container for myself and the sugar-free oatmeal cookie pack container for my parents. The chocolate chip walnut cookies taste like Chips Ahoy cookies. I tried one of the oatmeal cookies and it tastes like a Nutri-Grain bar that doesn't have any of the fruit filling (these cookies do have a sugar substitute aftertaste but it's not too bad if you're used to it). Neither of the cookies have mind-blowing flavors, but they still fulfill the cookie craving. For several days I packed a chocolate chip walnut cookie with a homemade deli sandwich for lunch. Makes a really good sweet treat after the sandwich. There are also pies and other baked desserts here. I got a blueberry scone. Don't recommend that one as it was devoid of sugar for some reason (could almost taste the flour). Overall nice little place to go to if you want to support a traditional cookie family business. It's right off the 99 freeway so you could plan a quick stop!

I feel bad, I dont know the girls name but there is a thinner girl in the morning who is super nice and makes the best Mazapan Iced Latte and she always has great customer service and always includes a mini pan dulce with the latte but unfortunately there is a heavier girl who isn't that nice, actually somewhat rude and never includes the mini pan dulce with the Lattes. She is one of the reasons I haven't went back since she was there the last 2 times I ordered.

The drinks are on the sweeter side so if that's your jam then this is the place for you! The drinks come with a glitter concha which is so thoughtful. As of June 2025, a small is $7.50 which is comparable to other coffee shops plus you get a concha so I think it's fair prices. They also serve bottled coffee drinks for $5. The service is always friendly and quick. The shop is smaller and full of bread so if there are a lot of people it could feel tight but I haven't had that issue when I've been there. Go enjoy the sweet aroma, you won't regret it :)

I seen that this place had amazing cakes so I wanted to spend more money to get a cake that would be memorable for my daughter. I placed a cake order and an order of cookies. Everything was supposed to be a mario world theme but pink because my daughter loves Toadette. I called and spoked with Desta she told me to send her an email with what I wanted. I thought I was clear on what I wanted. I asked for the cake to be pink and white, but what I got was all pink cake. I had asked for a strawberry and cream filling and I got only cream. I ordered pink mushroom cookies but I received red ones. We communicated through email, text and then they called me to confirm and to do the deposit and I had told them again and reminded them that I wanted pink mushroom cookies. The cookies were almost the same price as the cake and to receive what I didnt ask for kinda sucked. They offered me a dozen cup cakes to make up for the mistake but still messed up the theme that we had planned for the bday. The cookies did taste good I will admit that. I dont mean to be mean but the cake was my least favorite. In the email I had asked for a frosting that wasn't too sweet. I got fondant, I should have said not to use fondant I'm not a fan of fondant. The cake was also poorly made. The cake it self was not leveled they just stacked both cakes together upside down which created a big gap on the sides of the cake that was just filled with fondant. I've never seen a cake like that. I'm not gonna lie even tho the cake looked nice I thought it was going to be more nicer compared to the pics i've seen. It looked really plane. Desta did call the next day to apologize for the mistake while I was im the middle of the party so I missed the call. I heard the message she left, she apologized. I didnt call back because I didnt know what to say. Just wish they had a better system to order or a more clear communication. I've never done this before I was just trying to have a nice cake for my daughter but felt like I failed her. Dont let my review detour you from going and giving them a shot. I'll probably try Nugget next year.

The line moved too quick I wish i couldve have more time to decide so i ended up getting more than I wanted. Although everything was pleasant our favorite was the Flan Vanille and the tuna sandwiches. The Flan vanille is my new favorite dessert going forward. I know it was a busy day and the staff was busy with the orders and service making tables available however they could improve in checking their bathroom and trash bins. All bins were too full even one by the counter. We notice that the staff continously wiping the counter but didnt notice the overflowing trash bin.
